Oh, how I miss the tribal swab it is was such a good change. Also wasn't during the episode during which Russell colapsed did Jeff say that was his scariest moment on the show because for me it probably will always be when Mike fell into the fire.
Winners, the number of votes cast against them, and the final voting score: Richard Hatch: 6 (4-3) Tina Wesson: 0 (4-3) Ethan Zohn: 0 (5-2) Vecepia Towery: 2 (4-3) Brian Heidik: 0 (4-3) Jenna Morasca: 3 (6-1) Sandra Diaz-Twine: 0 (6-1) Amber Brkich: 6 (4-3) Chris Daughtery: 3 (5-2) Tom Westman: 0 (6-1) Danni Boatright: 1 (6-1) Aras Baskauskas: 9 (5-2) Yul Kwon: 5 (5-4-0) Earl Cole: 1 (9-0-0, first unanimous winner) Todd Herzog: 5 (4-2-1) Parvati Shallow: 4 (5-3) Bob Crowley: 2 (4-3-0) JT Thomas: 0 (7-0, first winner to never have a vote against him and win unanimously) Natalie White: 5 (7-2-0)
Including season 20, Australian Outback has the most Survivors that have returned for either an All-Star or Fans vs Favorites season at 5 (Tina, Colby, Jerri, Alicia, Amber). All appeared in the original All-Stars while Colby and Jerri back for season 20. Cook Islands has had 4 (Parvati [x2], Ozzy, Candice, and Jonathan Penner) Borneo has had 4 (Susan, Rich, Jenna L, and Rudy) Pearl Islands has had 3 (Rupert [x2], Fairplay, and Sandra) Africa has had 3 (Big Tom, Ethan, Lex) China has had 3 (James [x2], Amanda [x2], Courtney) Tocantins has had 3 (Coach, JT, Tyson) Other seasons have had less than 3.
Don't get me wrong, JT is a great guy and I'm personally happy he got the money for winning his season. What is not to like? Well, beyond him being boring. (And let's not even get into him being a "master" player...lol.) I guess that is my major issue with the majority of the winner list - I've lived through it, watched, and have been disappointed 99% of the time. To win Survivor, you need to put babies on a sugar rush to sleep midday 6 seconds after they just got up... Actually, looking through recent seasons reminds me of why I had become so disheartened with the franchise. (Samoa actually was fun.) My personal thoughts are instructions should be offered to the jury by Jeff before the vote that dictates the criteria for voting, much like that of a jury in the American court system. Then we could rid the series of such a sad victory circle... Hangers-ons and do nothings.
What is the biggest mistake in Survivor history? For me its either Colby taking Tina to the final 2, James not using either immunity idol, or Erik giving his immunity to Natalie. Colby knew that Tina was going to beat him and he was okay so I guess it isn't actually a mistake, but it was a very dumb move.
And just to make my point...(and this is sad) I had to look up JT to find out who he was... Ok, I know...as a fan that is bad...especially being we just watched that season last spring. I'm getting old. But, once I did, I remembered...er..

Yikes, these stats are impressive. Impressive in the time taken to compile. That aside, I love stats.
Does anyone know what Helen, Shi Ann, or Jan from Survivor Thailand are up to since their season? I recently finished watching it, and I loved it.
More firsts: -Palau was the first season to feature 20 players, although 2 were eliminated before any tribal council, the first to feature Exile Island and was the first season in which one tribe won all immunity challenges
I could be wrong, but didn't they technically have Exile Island on Pearl Islands? The losers of a challenge all had to go there for a night I thought... I guess Palau was the first to have ONE person go...

Just wondering... why does pretty much everyone, including Jeff Probst, say that Thailand was a very bad season? I actually loved it. Helen's jury speech to Brian was epic, in my opinion.

My favorites all left early in Thailand, but I loved Jan she was great.
That final 4 was crap. They were awful.
I think that brian was a really great player.
Jeff ranked the first nine seasons, and here's what he had to say about Thailand:
They're going to hate me for saying this, but this final four of Brian, Clay, Helen, and Jan was the least likable final four ever. And that, in a nutshell, explains why Thailand is No. 9 for me. There was so much negativity, with Ted and Ghandia's he said/she said sexual ''grinding'' incident, and Robb strangling Clay during the ''attack zone'' challenge. And then you felt like you needed a shower after watching Brian play, because he was so sleazy. It was a mean-spirited season. There was a lot of hostility, a lot of ugliness, and that's not fun to watch. We love conflict on Survivor, but conflict that is fun to watch, not conflict that is uncomfortable to watch. It's kinda odd that on the season I liked the least, they decided to ask me to host the reunion special for the first time, although I honestly think that's just because they couldn't find anybody else. I don't think it was that they suddenly thought I could do it. They just couldn't find anybody they liked, so they were like, ''Okay, we'll try Jeff.''
Ouch. Thats interesting, thanks molds. I didn't care for Brian, and I disliked Clay. Shi Ann and Jan were my favorites of Thailand. Helen was funny, in my opinion.
Thailand sucked at the time, because for the most part, the pre-AS1 seasons were awesome. It was comparitively lackluster. On rewatch though, it does seem better, at least in my opinion. I'll take a classic season like Thailand over any of the new gimmicks any day.
There's been lots of discussion on various boards as to who, physically, is the best challenger ever. I would personally say Ozzy. Here's a list of who won the most individual challenges in their season (i.e. after a merge), both immunity and reward. Borneo: Kelly - 4/8 immunities, 1/5 rewards Australian Outback: Colby - 5/8 immunities, 3/5 rewards Africa: Lex - 3/8 immunities, 1/4 rewards Marquesas: Kathy (2/5 rewards), Tammy (0/5 rewards), Vecepia (0/5 rewards) - 2/8 immunities Thailand: Brian - 3/6 immunities, 2/4 rewards Amazon: Jenna - 4/8 immunities, 0/4 rewards Pearl Islands: Darrah - 3/8 immunities, 1/5 rewards All-Stars: Boston Rob - 4/8 immunities, 2/5 rewards Vanuatu: Chris - 3/8 immunities, 1/5 rewards Palau: Tom - 5/7 immunities, 1/3 rewards Guatemala: Rafe - 3/8 immunities, 0/4 rewards Panama: Terry - 5/7 immunities, 4/7 rewards Cook Islands: Ozzy - 5/6 immunities, 1/2 rewards Fiji: Boo (3/5), Yau-Man (3/5 rewards) - 2/6 immunities China: Peih-Gee (1/6 rewards), Amanda (2/6 rewards) - 2/7 immunities Micronesia: Erik - 3/7 immunities, 2/4 rewards Gabon: Bob - 3/6 immunities, 2/2 rewards Tocantins: JT - 3/8 immunities, 3/4 rewards Samoa: Brett - 3/9 immunities, 1/3 rewards

Colby is probably a close second, though
It was disapointing when Ozzy lost and he deserved it. It to an extent could be viewed as like this last season with Natalie winning.
It was disapointing when Ozzy lost and he deserved it. Ozzy is the best physical player ever and Yul was the best strategist in that season!
It was disapointing when Ozzy lost and he deserved it. It to an extent could be viewed as like this last season with Natalie winning.
No way! Not even close. I think that Yul and Ozzy were the best two in that season and both deserved to be there. Yul was the master strategist and best social player in the game; Ozzy was the best physical attribute and provider in the game. It definitely was a hard decision for them.
What locations does everyone like the best? I really love both Africa locations the most! Austalia, China, and Brazil too. It gets old always seeing the same tropical locations. They're beautiful locations but after a while Palau and Panama start to get annoying...
If I were on the jury I would careless how a person performed physically. It's all about how you played the game as a whole for me. Each season this is how I would have voted... 1) Rich 2) I think they played the same game so it would have been who I had more of a connection with. 3) Ethan 4) Neleh 5) Brian 6) Jenna 7) Sandra 8) Rob 9) Twilia 10) Katie 11) Danni 12) I don't even remember their game play, Danielle? Both are forgettable. 13) Ozzy 14) Dreamz 15) Courtney 16) Parvati 17) Sugar 18) Stephen 19) Natalie
I think Tom was the best at the challenges in Survivor History. And i say this because there were many Team Immunities and Rewards he won by himself for Koror. Statistically i guess some people were better than him, but i remember being amazed by Tom during the challenges when i watched Palau. Here is who i would have voted for each season: 1. Kelly 2. Colby 3. Kim J 4. Neleh 5. Brian 6. Jenna 7. Sandra 8. Amber 9. Twila 10. Tom 11. Steph 12. Danielle 13. Yul 14. Earl 15. Courtney 16. Eh I have no idea, i think they both sucked.. But if it were a final 3, i would have voted Cirie 17. Susie 18. JT 19. Natalie.

I (personally, of course) thought Aras, Bob, and Parvati (or even Amanda) were better choices. I'm still wondering why Danielle was brought back for Heroes vs Villains.
I don't get the love for Cirie, I think she deserved to be invited back for Fans vs Favorites but not for All Stars 2. I don't even remember what season she was on, Panama? I liked her for the most part till she thought she was entitled to the money on Fans vs Favorites because she was poor....I think her poor atheletic performance and surviving skills are going to get her the early boot on AS2.

She was the one that came up with the idea to convince Erik to give immunity to Natalie. I didn't like her in the begining of FvF, but torwards the end I really liked her. I definetly don't think that she got enough credit for a lot of things that she did.
