Well, please choose one in the context in which you intended the word to be understood, or detail the instance(s) in which each applies. Only then can one respond intelligently.
Since we were talking about sexual experiences between cast members, I think it's reasonable to deduct that I mean it as being sexually promiscuous.
However, I can see how it could need clarification.
From a NY Times article about a camp for kids with ADHD:
"At a young age, he is learning to help himself. At camp, they’re taught “positive self-talk,” which Jesse described this way: “If somebody does something you don’t like, you say something nice about yourself and you don’t say it out loud and that makes you feel better and you aren’t angry with the person.” As his mother said, not bad for 6."
That's right...he's six. Maybe he can teach these "adults" a thing or two?
Evidence please? Johanna has told me she knows of none.
Being that I don't know Wes personally... I don't know for sure. I read that Wes was ****** and was using KA to get back at her for it. A few people on this board seem to think that's true as well.
To be completely honest.. Wes could look me in the eye and say it's not true, and I don't know that I'd believe it. Being that Wes was obviously very emotionally invested in his relationship with Johanna, I would imagine he would be quite upset by the physical relationship between she and Kenny. (as would any man.)
And that Wes can't dance. Johanna needs a (nice) guy who can dance with her. Kenny doesn't meet that criteria either.
Good thing they aren't a couple then.. huh? lol
I'm not naive about what these people do, esp. considering how much alcohol is involved (funny this season rations water but alcohol flows freely), but is it a possibility that not everyone hooking up on camera is having ***? The sleeping rooms on the Island have many other beds. Would Kenny and Johanna (well maybe kenny) just get naked right there with people walking around and the possibility of cameras catching it? The editing is very suggestive. I wasn't sure if Beth and Nehamiah fooled around that one Challenge season until Nehamiah cleared it up on his next challenge. I don't doubt that they do find private places to do their thing. But we really don't know what is and isn't consummated. Johanna didn't even sleep with Wes until they left the house.
Since we were talking about ***ual experiences between cast members, I think it's reasonable to deduct that I mean it as being ***ually promiscuous.

That is useful, thanks. If you had elected to posit the other definition, I would have suggested to Robin that a plausible cause of action existed under libel statutes> She would take serious umbrage to any claim that she has been a *** worker or traded ***ual favors for monetary gain.
No to the other definition. Setting aside the negative societal connotations implied in your use of the word "*****," historical information from the challenges and show seasons would suggest that Kelly Anne, Robin, Johanna, Paula, Jenn, Ashlie, Tonya and Colie could be seen as promiscuous under one of the follow definitions:
1. Having casual ***ual relations frequently with different partners; indiscriminate in the choice of ***ual partners.
2. Lacking standards of selection; indiscriminate.
3. Casual; random.
Notes: Number 2 should not apply in this instance, in my opinion, since it seeks to replace any woman's 'flawed' judgment with our own likely equally uninformed ones.
A more current listing would remove Tonya from the list since she is married and living in the middle of nowhere. Eve and Rachel both appear to have had only knows relationships that appear to have little in common with casualness or randomness.
Thus, we have arrived at some measure of agreement, though we will likely not ever agree the there is anything resembling a balance between foolish young women and the miscreants, which I've come to believe Johnny and, sadly, Kenny emulate.
I hate that I can't quote from my phone. LOL.
Good Brooklyn - I totally agree with what u said about the alcohol flowing freely. It seems asanine and completely irresponsible to ration food but allow unlimited amounts of alcohol. As far as the *** thing goes johanna said herself in the dailies "Im f@&$ing kenny because I like him". LOL.
I have to side with V on this one too Insider.
I don't really think these girls are promiscuous. Most of the time they are drunk when it happens. I mean seriously, what Robin said was true. I don't think it was any attack on Johanna and how she is a ****, but rather she is using Kenny to get to the end.
I don't think it was any attack on Johanna and how she is a ****, but rather she is using Kenny to get to the end.
I do have to wonder...she said she's going to wait for someone to give her a key, because she's not going into a face off. Does she really expect Kenny to go into a face off for her and give her a key?

I think there are already enough "victims" in this world. Being drunk when acting ****** is no excuse.. Remember here guys.. I'm female. lol I just haaaaaate the "poor lil ol girl" stuff. You know? It's my biggest pet peeve. I hate acting like us poor little girls are victim to these big bad men. It gives them power over us. No one has power over my sexuality. I am as responsible for what I do with my ****** as a man is for what he does with his *****. If I'm a ****.. then I'm a ****. There are plenty of em on this show. My problem with Robin is that she's the "pot calling the kettle black".. and I believe no one had a problem with it purely because she's female and Kenny haters enjoy seeing someone act negatively toward him.
As far as his attitude toward women.. its like.. whatever. Plenty of people here are like.. "Oh no.. I know Tonya personally.." or "I know Robin personally.." or whoever the castmemeber is.. Well.. I know Kenny. Is he a rude idiot the majority of the time? sure. He's not a woman hater.
That's my final argument in the defense of misogynism. lol It's obviously not going any place. lol

I dont think she was actually referring to Kenny. I mean, she may have been.. but I think Johanna is a smart girl. She should know better than that.

I undertsand what you are saying about Robin, and I understand that he has done plenty of things. But like I have learned from V1 in a sense, if you are drunk you don't really have the capability to decide what you should do, and a lot of the times she doesn't know. I mean that was apparent with Dan.
He isn't a woman hater. I dont' think anyone is saying that. I think we are saying he displays a lot of things that could be considered misogynistic. I mean like Johnny, saying how the girls are worthliess, plotting to get them off, throwing a girl around like a rag doll even if she did like it or not, calling someone a retard for no reason, faking his feelings towards Tonya(no I don't know her personally), etc.
Ok ladies and gents.. Ready for your daily dose of Insider oppinion on todays dailies? lol I know it matters to all of you SOOOOO much.
So, here we go.
First I'd like to discuss Johanna. I don't know that I would use her same strategy, but I honestly don't think she's screwing her way to the end. Like she says, she'd be more likely to get a key from Colie than Kenny. I think that's more what she's thinking. I think the other girls are just afraid she's relying on Kenny. They realize that he's probably going to be there at the end... and it's understandable to think that a girl who has a close alliance with him is more like to be there. However, Paula and Kenny are just as close. I think her (paula) only chance to win would be to rely on her alliances. There are plenty of girls there that seem much stronger.. ie Rachel, Ev, and Robin. Johanna could likely come out on top without that. Like I've said many times before, I'm not the biggest Johanna fan. I'm on her side this time around though. Her fun with Kenny is more of a side note than a master plan. (IMO of course)
Now, let's move on to Robin. Kudos to her for admitting her jealousy. I'm happy to see that she appologized to Johanna. I'm also happy to see they seem to have made up. GIRL POWER! lol I do find it very interesting that in an earlier daily Robin was talking about how she hooked up with Kenny and it wasn't that great.. but whatever.. and now she's admitting that it was a little more.. I think that means I WAS RIGHT. :) I could hear it in her voice!! lol
Now for KA. I've really heard wonderful things about this girl. Is she really this annoying or is she getting a bad edit? All she does is sit around and say terrible things about people. Now she's making personal threats toward Dunbar.. I wish we could hear/see all sides of the story. It would be nice to know how warranted her behavior is.. U know?
Finally... Mr. JB. Pull your pants up. That's not cute... no one wants to see it.
I think that just about covers everything for me. :)
I'm not the biggest Johanna fan. I'm on her side this time around though. Her fun with Kenny is more of a side note than a master plan. (IMO of course)
You know, watching the dailies of the fight, I thought Jo was far more in the right. Her biggest issue is that she let Robin goad her and get to her. IMO, Johanna is a much more attractive person when she keeps her cool and is sober. When she's drunk everything she says is in a screech and she gets worked up in about two seconds. She should have turned around and walked away rather than engaging Robin, and by not doing so, she made the situation worse. But Robin was being ridiculous. Johanna has every right to choose not go voluntarily go into a face-off. The entire idea of the faceoff is that you risk going home, but you have a two out of three chance of getting a key. By not going in, Johanna is choosing not to try to get a key, which is a risky strategy, but one that might pay off for her. But to think that her strategy was just to *** up Kenny in the hopes that he would leave (doubtful) is just dumb. Johanna isn't exactly a Westinghouse winner, but she's not a huge idiot, either.
Here's what I don't get--why would anyone who already had a key volunteer to do another face-off? There's nothing to be gained, it would seem, and everything to lose. Abe was pretty clearly a fluke related to the fact that he wanted to leave anyway and also enjoys competing, maybe moreso than winning. And if no one with a key goes in, then, from what we know so far, no one with a key will go home. And that means no keys will be given to those who have not gone into a face-off. So I don't really understand how waiting to get a key from someone who leaves would in any way be an effective strategy.

Well if no one volunteers, they vote. So they would probably try to vote someone that already has a key in.
hi everyone! i'm new. (as i'm sure you realize)
i was watching the dailies today- and i noticed in the one where ev is talking to kenny about why she is close with the newbies, johanna was being a complete B and making faces into the camera and to colie. i liked johanna on the last challenge, and i hated ev. but this time around, i like ev and hate johanna. she (johanna) seems to be turning into a "mean girl" of sorts, since being let into the "cool kids club". and for the most part- the "cool kids" are the biggest d-bags there. ( IMO of course ;P )
you all are killing me. I wanted to stay away from the dailies...but I am working on a paper and a bottle of wine (more the wine than the paper) and I think I will go procrastinate more and watch them.

Way to copy only part of what I said...
this would be the ACTUAL statement I made:
It's completely sexist to hate Kenny.. or hate Johnny.. or hate whatever man for his "misogynist" behavior when the women of the show are just as bad.
I completely stand by everything I said in regards to Kenny. Sorry guys...
Not all the guys on the Challenges are **********. A lot of them, yes. Not all of them. Same can be said about the women. That doesn't, however, excuse the remarks said by the members in question when they are aimed in general and would, if one follows logic, seem to include the female gender as a whole. THAT is not being sexist, that is showing revulsion for Mr. Bananas' attitude towards females as a gender.

My main argument was in defense of Kenny. ... not so much JB.
Mostly, I was riled up because some of the women, *COUGH* Robin *COUGH* were acting like pigs.. and no one seemed to mention it. It was just another "Hate Kenny" day. That's what I found to be sexist. If one were to read my entire post.. I think he or she would get that.
I give Robin no pass at all.
Kenny, did seem to have some good points at a time, but from his interviews he comes across as extremely arrogant. In MY view at least. I said that the same thing can be said about the women. I still remember Robin's drunken rant against Aneesa telling her to pick a race and a sexual orientation. But I do really like Ev and KA (so far). (Really wish there'd be a Challenge with Ev and Jodi... *sigh*) and there have been other women like Ruthie that are a joy to watch for me.
Same with the men. Heck, I LIKED Wes on the Duel.

I really liked Wes as a competitor.. I was rooting for him all the way on Fresh Meat. He was pretty mean to Casey though.

I think that's the main point, at least to me. Forgetting about Johnny for awhile, which seems like a good idea, I think a lot of these people are just plain arrogant. It's not even so much that Kenny thinks he's better than women as that he thinks he's better than everybody. I think a lot of these people do, secretly or not so secretly. However, some people are more blatantly rude to the women, I think, like Evan on the last challenge, because they don't feel physically threatened by them. That doesn't mean that they don't feel superior to the men also, just that they don't want to say the wrong thing and get into a duel/gauntlet/whatever if they don't have to. I think, on the challenges, Kenny has consistently been rude to people he dislikes or doesn't respect, regardless of gender. I don't know; I think people have claimed as far back as Fresh Meat that he's a "sweet" guy in the end, so maybe there's more to Kenny than what we see.
wes was mean to casey, and johanna. you don't treat a person like that (esp. your girlfriend) on TV. You don't treat her like in private, either. But wasn't Wes the guy who said that back in high school he was the only guy with a six-pack? I couldn't be more impressed (<-- sarcasm)
I really liked Wes as a competitor.. I was rooting for him all the way on Fresh Meat. He was pretty mean to Casey though.
This is my first post, and I just want to say I respect and am entertained by all of the opinions posted here. Even though there are quite a few I completely disagree with, and even though I'm not too crazy about the way some of the responses are worded. But that just may be because I'm too thin-skinned! But you guys are awesome.
Mostly, I was riled up because some of the women, *COUGH* Robin *COUGH* were acting like pigs.. and no one seemed to mention it.
Insider, if it helps, I do agree with most of your posts reagrding Robin and some of the other women who have displayed just as atrocious behavior but do not get called out for it.
Robin has been, countless times in numerous seasons, in front of the camera Whiskey Marying (she needs to stop smoking!) about her sexual history and going into intimate details, generally kissing and telling. She has caused numerous conflicts because she has what seems like a drinking problem, or is just a nasty drunk (before I get accused of slander). She too, screwed her way through a Challenge if she really wants to go there with Johanna (remember Mark in BOTS?) She has demonstrated ignorant behavior more than once, calling someone the n-word and insulting Aneesa.
So WHY does she not get the "bad guy" tag? Is it because she's just that clueless/dumb? I gagged when I heard she had been assigned to a "Good Guys" team. I don't hate Robin, but I just don't see how she isn't considered just as sleazy as some of the guys.
And don't get me started on Paula. Her drunken confessional about Dunbar was cringe-worthy. I cannot dislike her for some reason, as there is something about her that seems very genuine. But she just seems, well, sleazy.
