I like Rebel too but there was way too many awkward silence moments. She tried though.
People still watch the MTV Movie Awards? LOL
LOL yeah... millions actually.
LOL yeah... millions actually.
My comment was "Tongue-in-cheek." Critics have been saying the same thing all day; and, on yahoo, the comments in response to a story about the event have been very negative.
Episode 3 REAL WORLD XXVIII MTV 10:00 PM 1,150,000 0.7 Broke 1 million :applouse:
That is a real nice jump from last week. Went up 15%.
Awesome! I feel like this only further proves the point that BMP needs to stray away from casting snoozefests (Jessica, Joi) and cast more interesting people who are gonna create a more dramatic dynamic between the roommates (Nia, Jordan). That's the only thing that will keep the show alive at this point.
It's ridiculous that she had to beg to be on the show. BMP seriously needs to reconsider their casting process.
Exactly. Whether people love her or hate her she got them watching so she's doing something right.
I agree about production needing rethink their casting team. How could nia have not made ***** as an original? She makes the show soooo much more interesting. I'm glad the ratings went up so much. From what I've seen on twitter, they actually replaced a couple casting directors for the next season, one of which who was there for the last ten seasons. Maybe someone new can find more interesting people for 29 and get RW back to where it needs to be.
For some reason I got it in my head that the ratings were higher last week and this was a big drop. Glad to see I was completely wrong and it actually went up. I did see my first legitimate Real World trend on twitter Wednesday night so I took that as a positive. I will forever be flabbergasted at the ratings Duck Dynasty pulls. I was not looking very forward to Nia because I got the impression she was going to be all drama but man, she was great TV last night and actually brought a nice dose of depth to the show. She had some great conversations that reminded me of some older seasons were people actually learned something.
She had some great conversations that reminded me of some older seasons were people actually learned something.
She said she's been watching the show since she was 11 and I think that has a lot to do with it. The other roomies admitted that they had "never" seen the show so I think they weren't expecting to go in and pour their life out. However she was and found a way to bring that out in them because she knows what the actual purpose of the show is. Very smart chick in my opinion.
Duck Dynasty's season finale is wednesday, after that Real World will probably get more viewers.
From what i read on twitter, the only casting director that stopped was Jess... and thats cause she got a new job. I assume it wasnt because she was fired or whatever for i guess choosing bad people like you implied, since she DID cast Marie, Toya, and a few others i cant think of... However, i wish they would choose like 2 girls who were finalists for BGC, but didnt make it, to be on a RW season. that way they know they have at least someone who would make good TV hopefully. and 2 clashing bad girls would be just that. Plus they would most likely clash with everyone else too.
Remember when RW used to break 5 million?
Buzzkill :jaded:

There are some people that definitely make it obvious that they were fans of the show before being cast. Frank's SD season came out 3 or 4 years after they filmed The Island and he clearly knew it took place on Panama. Laurel knows who Coral is and the last time we saw her was 2 years before Laurel's debut. Anyone know of any other recent cast members that have stated they followed the show before being cast?
Robb admitted it I think in one of his UStreams
damnnn.. I just thought about it the Nba Playoffs are coming up so the "Real World" might lose viewers.
Its so annoying when people say they've never watched the show they tried out for. Like if you don't really know anything about it, why audition?
They are flat out lying to the fans. How would they exactly know what show to audition for but not heard anything about it much less seen anything from it? Therein lies the truth.
Anyone know of any other recent cast members that have stated they followed the show before being cast?
Steve and Katie from Road Rules 10 and that should count too.
Yesterday wasn't a very impactful episode, I'm guessing the rating might slip a bit again.
Yesterday wasn't a very impactful episode, I'm guessing the rating might slip a bit again.
Perhaps, but the measurement (rating) would include in the sample size those watching who agree with you that as they were watching they were not impressed. It is more likely that next week's episode would have fewer viewers if, in fact, people were not motivated to watch again by last night's episode. Personally, I laughed through it because Johnny, Avery and Nia all reminded me of high school and my freshman year in college where I remember people exactly like them.
Well crap... MTV can't be happy today. That's a loss of @200,000 viewers.
It was 100,000 not 200,000. They were at .99 million last week not 1.09 million. Edit: My bad, looked at the wrong week. You were right.
It was 100,000 not 200,000. They were at .99 million last week not 1.09 million.
They were at 1.15 million last week.
They were at 1.15 million last week.
My bad. I was looking at 2 weeks ago.
My bad. I was looking at 2 weeks ago.
They lost a little less than 300,000 viewers
Thanks, Wally T09. I was trying to be kind to MTV by slightly understating the drop. They don't like my criticism as it is... ;)
