Even though I know the results, watching Men's Gymnastics is a little depressing.
And I'd also like to add that the women's soccer uniforms make me think I'm watching some sort of Olympic "Where's Waldo" game.
-_- haha. Makes me wonder what you thought about the opening ceremony outfits.
-_- haha. Makes me wonder what you thought about the opening ceremony outfits.
I didn't actually get to watch the Opening Ceremony (I saw maybe a total combined 10 minutes), but I heard I didn't really miss much.
At least in 2016 we won't have to worry about a tape delay; Rio is only an hour ahead of the East coast. Hopefully they will just adjust their schedule. Sochi, on the other hand...
At least in 2016 we won't have to worry about a tape delay; Rio is only an hour ahead of the East coast. Hopefully they will just adjust their schedule.
You know NBC. They will try to get a tape delay in there somewhere...
"The 4x100 IM is at 8 PM? We can't have that! It must be at 9:30 PM at the peak of prime time in New York!"

Sochi, on the other hand...
There is enough of a time difference (it looks like 9 hours being they are 8 now and don't observe DST) that they could run the big finales around noon and that would fall right in the middle of prime time. Hopefully they take that route as we already know if they don't, practically everything will be run on tape delay. Every year that goes by, tape delay becomes more painful. I find myself watching the live events when I can and reading about everything else. Hopefully I will remember to stream the swimming medal events this afternoon.
Ah yes, things you'll probably be watching tonight (the time you should start avoiding the Internet if you don't want to know results, EST), and the Americans competing: Women's gymnastics team final (11:30am) - Gabby Douglas, Jordyn Wieber, McKayla Maroney, Kyla Ross, Aly Raisman Women's 200m freestyle (2:41pm) - Allison Schmitt, Melissa Franklin Men's 200m butterfly (2:49pm) - Tyler Clary, Michael Phelps Women's 200 IM (3:43pm) - Caitlin Leverentz, Ariana Kukors Men's 4x200 freestyle relay (3:51pm) - Conor Dwyer, Charles Houchin, Matthew McLean, Davis Tarwater
Even though I know the results, watching Men's Gymnastics is a little depressing.
It was really sad, I stopped watching...I had high expectations, but at least there's the all-around tomorrow! Another great day for team USA today! They won plenty of matches, can't wait for prime time to watch the results of the medals matches! Really avoided Twitter, Facebook, and every sports website.

God I love Team USA Basketball...so many highlight plays!
-_- haha. Makes me wonder what you thought about the opening ceremony outfits.
Carlton Banks must have been the designer - that Ralph Lauren thing was a hoax. And Gabby Douglas wins the Olympics for having "We No Speak Americano" as her floor exercise song.
Can't wait to watch Misty May and Kerri Walsh =D and USWNT Soccer for their next tournament! The soccer team may not have [strike]one[/strike] won the World Cup, but at least they have a shot at the gold ;D

Big events on tap today: Women's gymnastics all-around (11:30am) (Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman) Women's 200m breaststroke (2:40pm) (Rebecca Soni, Micah Lawrence) Men's 200m backstroke (2:48pm) (Tyler Clary, Ryan Lochte) Men's 200 IM (3:19pm) (Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte) Women's 100m freestyle (3:37pm) (Missy Franklin, Jessica Hardy)
There is no question, Phelps wanted this 200 IM gold. Not kind of wanted it. He really wanted it and he took it. This was his last match against Lochte. He could go to Rio and bring home another haul. Not as shiny but he could put his medal count in the untouchable range. He won't. We were lucky enough to see him even come to London. Phelps wants to live a life out of the pool.
Lots of medal events today, but here are the higher-profile ones: Women's 200m backstroke (Missy Franklin, Elizabeth Beisel) Men's 100m butterfly (Michael Phelps, Tyler McGill) Women's 800m freestyle (Katie Ledecky) Men's 50m freestyle (Cullen Jones, Anthony Ervin) Men's shot put Women's 10000m

After winning 6 Gold medals yesterday, USA will probably get 1 or 2 today, hopefully more!
Murray/Djokovic will be really good.
Phelps swim today just ran on NBC. Wow. He looked like a machine eating water at the end and thrusting forward. He was built for water. Unbelievable.
Katie Ledecky's swim was amazing.
Oh my God, did you guys saw how Lithuania played vs USA in basketball? Amazing game! I'm so proud of my country! Awesome match. Congrats USA.

Serena just DESTROYED Sharapova 6-0 6-1 She now has a Golden Career Grand Slam (2nd woman to ever do that, Steffi Graf being the 1st woman to accomplish it). Serena is easily the #1 player right now, and in my opinion the greatest female tennis player that has ever lived! I don't see anyone beating Serena at her peak and focus, in the history of women tennis!
