How does not voting with your partner (which is a stupid thing to do) show that he deserves to be invited back?
How is it stupid? It just shows that you are an individual who doesn't need to follow what your partner says everytime. He isn't a sheep and most of the people on the challenge (fresh meat have voted agianst there partner Theresa, Noor, Pete just to name a few) To me it shows that he will take risks which is what it's all about whether good or bad.
I'm not getting the, "Kenny is making smart decisions" thing. How's putting your stongest ally against their strongest female, which gives a large chance of losing, a smart move? I believe he should have picked a weak team from Wes's alliance to have a chance to win and balance the teams more.

It shows that you're obviously fractured from your partner. I'd take full advantage of that. You split and vote the other way? You can't be trusted. No one wants to keep you around. You go home.
There's a difference between showing that you're an individual and jeopardizing your chances in the game by voting differently from your partner. You can show you're an individual outside of the voting aspects of the game.
It seems to me that Katelynn and Brandon appear to be at the bottom of the Team Wes totem pole. Brandon voting opposite would just be all the more reason to have them be the first team from their alliance to go in.
I also think Paula could have beaten Ev and Luke if Jeff hadn't gotten injured. She's a tough chick. I love that Ev gives her credit for that!
Isn't it funny that everyone who goes into an exile thinks no one could possibly beat them at it? hahahaha Kenny and Laurel's exile looked WAY harder than Ev and Luke's or Pete and Jill's though.
I don't know about Paula beating Ev...it's possible, but also remember Ev was carrying Luke's bag. Who knows how much quicker (if at all) they might have finished if she had switched and gotten her own back. And yeah, the mountain-climbing, bucket-swinging-on-poles exile looks WAY harder.

I can't remember if it was in the dailies or one of the other clips on the FMII website, but Paula chose to go against Evelyn. Plus, Luke said he was cramping bad and in these exiles, you're only as strong as your weakest member. This was the best chance to take out Ev.
This is going to sound extremely ridiculous but my heart did a little skip when Paula fell to the ground when she realized she lost, I wanted to cry for her.
I feel like everything I want to say has been said...Kenny making smart decisions, Jenn being out of line and probably should have been sent home, Paula definitely showing her stuff on Exile, Luke being an idiot for insisting on opening his mouth, Evelyn kicking *** for carrying the heavier bag and still keeping up...
Seriously, this has been the best challenge in years.
Agree with your last statement. Despite subpar ratings, this is actually one of the more intriguing challenges because of the 2 factions.
I have bashed Kenny over the years for his inability to really stand out or his poor elimination record. Thus far, he is asserted himself (along w/ his partner) in both facets. In addition, he is playing a smart game and has finally stood out as a leader. Johnny was the unspoken leader on The Island, and Evan was the leader in the Ruins, CT lead the direction on Gauntlet 3, no one called the shots on I3. Furthermore, he is responding quite well as the hunted as opposed to the hunter. I never thought I'd say this in a million lifetimes, but Kenny is my favorite player this season. Man, the closing of last's night's episode was so funny when Kenny was detailing his alliance partners, and then came to the conclusion of Sh@3!.
Evelyn, damn she's smart. She has an overzealous nimrod for a partner though. I just hope it doesn't cost her longterm. Wes is strategically at an advantage now, but dumb moves like putting your partner on your back to swing ropes can only make people question his intelligence. I like Wes, but that was by far one of the stupidest things I've ever seen on a challenge.
As for Paula, yes she gave a valiant effort. It reminded me of the old Paula who was once viewed as a top tier level female before she became so hell bent on working with people who is disinterested in her best interest.

Word to this post.
I was wondering does anyone know how badly Jeff's leg really was because he seemed to perform way worse then I thought he would? Thoug hif it's the case of him having injury then I hope to see him comeback so he can show us if he is better. Such as Nick Brown did and Evan.

That was another calculated risk that didn't pan out. I would have made the same play in trying to get rid of a strong opponent whose partner was hurt. The right play. Ev would have done the same thing if roles were reversed.
At first, I actually thought the same thing initially because I thought Evelyn and Luke was playing possum trying to get Kenny to go for the bait. Actually, Paula could have won if it were not for her partner. Kenny is spot on, Wes is expendable ...... he's a fricking luxury. Wes's partner is too weak, and Kenny's team can take them at anytime. In addition, Kenny's team are top tier competitors. Eve's good but her partner is mediocre. Landon is a beast, but his partner isn't the level of Kenny's partner, she is ok though. Jillian's the bomb, but her partner too is all hype, middle of the road against the other males. On and on.......... bottom line Kenny's team is the most complete and well rounded of all the challenges thus far.
If I'm Kenny, I am confident that I can win the next challenge and eventually hope for an upset in the Exile to eliminate a strong opponent. Worse case, i lose the next challenge and inject fear by taking down teams one by one. Wes won 5 times during FM1 even with a weak Casey due to circumstances of everyone being terrified by going in and psychologically defeated themselves before the exile even started. It got to a point to where NO ONE wanted to go against Wes/Casey in Exile and late in the game they started to sway votes.

Honestly, a lot of that was luck (i.e. less weight and forgotten flags). Had Wes and Casey been in any of the Exiles we've seen so far in FMII, I think they would have lost to the people who lost those Exiles (except POSSIBLY Darrell and Cara Maria...but even that is questionable).
I feel sorry for Paula after that elimination though to an extent I felt sorry for Jeff. He had to deal with Paula as a partner that in itself is a task, as well as his injury man I hope he will get another opportunity to comeback and compete.
True Kenny's team is really good and he did get the best female partner but I think Landon's partner is really good as well, he is really lucky to have got her with the last pick because if it was me picking I would have picked her over Mandi, Sydney, Theresa, and probably Sandy.

Just out of curiosity, what part of her initial performance in the combines would have made you pick her over the other girls?
Honestly the combines showed really nothing. 2 of the girls did a pull-up after that the rest could have been picked in any order. Her size alone would have me pick her way higher then some of the others. Sandy sure finished the "obstacle course" but that really doesn't dictate skill. You can teach someone to solve a puzzle or train them for a situation but I can't train size or sure strength that she holds.

Just by looking at her alone, how would you know she wasn't another Shauvon or Rachel? Especially on the stage, behind other people, and in heavy clothes?
How would you know anyone wasn't another Shauvon or Rachel. For all you could tell by their so called "combine" was some hypothetical stats that may translate good or bad they prove nothing come challenge time. Personally I said I would have picked her over them as I stated she is bigger as in height and she looks stronger then most of the girls. Pretty much it's first impressions. That is why I'm surprised more didn't underperform as they all were going to picked whether you are first or last really didn't matter.

In speaking of those two, I specifically meant there size and how, in past challenges, it has weighed them down far more than it has helped them. Although given the random pick of the Alumni, performing well or not didn't really matter. I mean look at the strongest male (Landon) and female (Ev) alumni--both got last pick.
I asked Jeff what was wrong with his leg? His response was that after an x-ray they found that he dislocated his knee cap. So hopefully he gets another chance to comeback and show what he can do when he is 100%.

Holy crap...that must have hurt like s*&#. Was it from the fall? I wish they had at least mentioned it in the Aftershow.
Luke and Ev match up perfectly together and quite honestly I think they would be able to beat any team there
Maybe on the backpack one. I think Luke would stuggle with the bar and buckets full of weight.
if Kenny ,Laurel, Sarah and Vinny struggled of course Luke and Ev would but I think Ev would come up with a strategy to deal with the swinging buckets fast!
These exiles are dumb and why do they have names it's all the same thing caring weights running The puzzles do not look hard at all it's sad when I see them struggle,
Danny and Sandy are the next to leave?
New poster here. I was surprised to hear Mandi say on the aftershow that she was afraid after Jen pushed her, because if you watch the footage she starts coming forward right after the push as if she was ready to fight Jen. Makes me wonder if she would have stepped up if Kenny and Noor didn't break it up
On Mandi's cast bio they say that she trains in boxing 3x a week and they make her out to be a tough, don't mess with type of chick. But now she just comes off as being soft and weak. I don't see how someone who regularly trains in boxing can be that intimidated by a little girl like Jen. Maybe she means some cardio boxercising or something, can't be legit boxing.
What's with the Kenny did so well on the challenge? Um...it was all his PARTNER! The reason why the other teams got DQ'ed was because of the girls. Who knows how well Landon could've done if his partner didn't fall. This mission was more about who's the stronger GIRL.

I agree!
And If Wes had Casey on this challenge he woul won dude lol
It made me laugh when Wes had Mandi on his back and they both fell in the water immediately.
The way they edited it to where Kenny making fun of Wes was probably the funniest thing ever.
LOL! That was the best part, with Kenny's commentary as a set up. I don't know why, but I always seem to be rooting for Wes in these challenges. How freaking awesome would it have been had he pulled that off?

It would have been, but face it--he wasn't even close.
You know why? Because people who watch these shows just love to root for the underdog. They will go from loving to hating to loving a person again based on whether they are in the in crowd or the outsider. Evelyn was so hated I remember on that challenge where Coral was the outcast. She gets on the Island and people automatically loved her because they were so sick of Johnny and Kenny. But she's the same person!
QFT... for the longest time I rooted for Katie because she was highly entertaining and always on the wrong end of the "powers that be". Then she got brash and cocky... without actually being good hehe.
