Diem announces her departure from the challenges

*cue Diem montage, her being the fresh faced Fresh Meat and evolving to the bold veteran* All good things must come to an end, and I'm not surprised that Diem has decided to make Rivals 2 her swan song. In fact I thought a few years back prior to her doing Battle of the Exes that she was through with the Challenge, just for her lack of appearances, so it was surprising and somewhat refreshing to see her back and assume the role of a veteran. In this, her second run, I expected Diem to have one or two more Challenges within her and eventually just leave the show on her own accord due to outgrowing them, so it's a bit disheartening to read that she feels absolutely betrayed by the depiction of her by production without them even hinting or mentioning her shots. I'd probably feel the same way if I were her, and had prior talks with production, but at the same time - from a viewer's standpoint, last week was incredibly entertaining. And there lies the conflict within for me. I can respect that she chooses to end with her head held high despite plunging so low. Diem has done good for the world, and I feel like despite some of her non-flattering moments, that deserves some applause. I hope she continues to find the same success & progress outside of the shows.
Is CT not an actual Real Worlder?
Diem is fresh meat... But just for argument sake diem is disgusted by 1 edit this season but a lot of the cast have alluded that the little miss perfect edit (there words not mine) is not accurate either... They did say on the first ep she was fighting her second bout with cancer they didnt hide she was in a bad place so i dont know why mentioning the shots id that big of deal .. They saw drama they alwsys air the drama so u know it will end up on air.. Some castmembers may argue the other 9 seasons or however many she has been on where generous edits... I think she doing a challenge in thst condition is brave but at the end of the day u signed up for an edited reality show so they will show all drama.. I think diem is a great person but also think she has done things to avoid eliminations that would be deemed shady by anyone
Just saying, but just because she's been through so much doesn't exclude critique.
That's totally fine. I'm not saying that she hasn't made mistakes, and people are right to critique her when she has. But some people take it too far at times, and that's saddening to me.

Not to mention they exploited her weaknesses the moment she approached them professionally to ensure she would be in safe hands. They saw money bags as soon as she divulged that info to them, and that is the sickening part. Withholding Tonya's meds on The Island, refusing to foot Timmy's medical bills that THEY caused with their poorly constructed elimination round, and prolonging Ana's suffering to get the dramatic footage they wanted are just a few other examples of why I will never respect them as a company or as people. They literally do not give a **** about their cast members or what condition they're in. They're sick.

If u know there checkered past why put ur reputation on the line if u dont trust them?
All I gotta say is.. THANK GOD! She was never entertaining or likable in the least. One less Non-Castmember to muck up these shows. Good Riddance.

Although I agree with some of your points about always being the good girl.

I never said she was horrible i just noticed The fact that a lot of the cast knows her story and still wss critical i think says somethin is all i meant
All I gotta say is.. THANK GOD! She was never entertaining or likable in the least. One less Non-Castmember to muck up these shows. Good Riddance.
I respectfully disagree. To me she's definitely been entertaining and likable. Maybe not as much on Rivals 2, but certainly overall her presence was a positive impact on the shows.
I respectfully disagree. To me she's definitely been entertaining and likable. Maybe not as much on Rivals 2, but certainly overall her presence was a positive impact on the shows.
I very much agree with this. She's been great! :)
Ya i hear ya but isnt it the same production company the whole time? If u know there checkered past why put ur reputation on the line if u dont trust them?
That is just gateway logic for victim blaming. This production company has proven to be duplicitous and selfish on so many accounts. I don't even need to mention the Tonya case to make my point. Or the Portland ordeal. Diem had no reason to distrust them since their treatment of her was good in the past. Plus they seem to be good at feeding their cast members their BS about "caring" for them. Diem is a class act for thanking them for the experience in her blog. If it were me, I'd give them the Svetlana treatment.
I never said she was horrible i just noticed The fact that a lot of the cast knows her story and still wss critical i think says somethin is all i meant
Criticizing her and vying for camera time go hand in hand. Plus, the "criticizing" of Diem was just a byproduct of other castmates' own whining about the game and being thrown in elimination. A lot of pots and kettles running around the house.
The question about why people keep agreeing to do these Challenges given the production's reputation is a valid one. By now I'm sure most of the cast members have heard of the Tonya situation. I can only speak for myself, but I know if I were a cast member of this show and I heard a woman had allegedly been sexually assaulted during filming and nobody stepped in and stopped it, well I would refuse to appear on another Challenge because I would no longer feel that this was a safe environment. Just because they've been "nice" to me so far doesn't mean they won't eventually treat me like crap too. I still like Diem despite what was shown of her this season, but I really am confused as to why she and the other "nice" competitors have continued to appear on The Challenge. Everything I've heard about the people running the show and just the cast's own comments about it are mainly negative. Why would anyone want to willingly sign up for a reality show where they know the people in charge care very little about the safety of it's cast members?

I dont think its or i was blaming the victim at all but if they have such a history of being ******** and betraying people its like dating a guy who has cheated in the past...bmp being that guy... He treats you good but once a cheater always a cheater so u shouldnt trust them .. Diem i think wanted to be on to feel normal again which it helped her do i think is why she thanked them in the end no matter how she felt about the edit I think its sad it just proves bmp wont change so trusting them is a mistake .. I myself would hsve thought they would learn from the tonya situation but than again there will alwsys be people wanting to be on the show so i doubt they learn.. I do wish diem the best of luck and a healthy future.. I am done with this topic i dont want it twisted like i hate her
I've always liked Diem. Not only is she incredibly brave to put herself and her story out there so candidly on national TV but she just seems super smart and self aware. It's ****ed up what the producers did to her story and portraying her that way they did in "true colors" but it's not surprising. Like she said, ultimately this is a business and they do whatever they have to keep people entertained even if that means throwing people under the bus.
This is BS. The producers didn't edit Diem in a bad light, she did it to herself. Stop making excuses for her awful behavior. If Trishelle was doing the same thing, you would have been all over her. Did the producers edit her to meltdown when she didn't get her way? no. She did it herself. Did the producers tell her to act entitled and say that Cooke/Cara Maria didn't deserve to be there? no. What's her excuse for saying that? Why exactly should Cooke not be in the game? What did Diem do to deserve a final more than Cooke? Nothing. Did the producers tell Diem to backstab Camila? No. Did the producers tell her to hate on Cooke for no reason, then act passive aggressive about that hate? No Did the producers tell her rap about Nany behind her back, then lie about it later? No Did the producers tell her to act like a drunk mess because control freak Diem had no control over her situation? No If she was getting a bad edit, I would expect others to say it. From what I've heard, no one confirmed. People like Robb, Camila, Nehemiah basically implied that this is the real Diem. Just face it, the Challenge showed Diem's true colors. She was never anything like she was portrayed in earlier seasons. If it wasn't for her trials and tribulations, no one would defend her here. Its no coincidence that people throw out the edit excuse only after they do ****ty things. Its easy to blame the producers, but she should be taking accountability for her actions.

Had Diem not had her Cancer Struggle then people wouldn't be defending her like they do. Better yet if this were ANYONE ELSE I have a feeling people wouldn't be so kind and defending. Oh and one more thing I wanted to say: I'm not surprised she got so much hate messages like that. It seems that people take things a bit to far when it comes to reality TV.
If you think Diem doesn't have a reason to hate Cooke then you clearly never read any posts here
If you think Diem doesn't have a reason to hate Cooke then you clearly never read any posts here
All I've seen here are a bunch of cryptic posts that are lacking in detail. No one spelled out in full detail what exactly Cooke did to get on Diem's bad side.

Because you don't quite believe anything V1man said about the Cooke situation, because he didn't fully expressed it, yet he implied it, but you believe what Robb, Nehemiah, Camilla basically implied about Diem being this person
Camilla is great friends with Diem so she wouldn't say that
Both Camila and Cara Maria did Alex Govere's Spreecast last night and neither said that was the "real" Diem. Really nice things were said about Diem last night particularly by Cara Maria and Camila has said she still considers her a good friend. I, too, agree that some are so quick to say that this must be the "real" Diem as opposed to how she's been portrayed in the past despite the fact that cast members have spoken in her defense. I suppose it's easier to latch on to the edit this season in order to have a reason to dislike her. Obviously I don't know Diem but she does a lot of good and seems to be kind hearted. Overall, the cast have expressed the same sentiments.

The problem that Diem has is not that they showed her "bad side" it's that they didn't include any material that would put her "bad side" in proper perspective. She's been around long enough to know how things can be twisted in the editing process. If the producers only show the melt down, and not what led to the melt down, then the person having the melt down looks like an idiot. Diem knew that she wasn't reacting to situations in an appropriate manner. She was out of control (my words not hers). She went to the producers and suggested that she go home. She knew that she was in over her head and it wasn't a good situation for her. The producers assured her that she would be okay in their hands. This wasn't the case at all. To tell someone they would be okay and then show nothing of why they were acting the way they acted is not cool. This is the problem that Diem is having with the way the show was edited. I am certainly not a fan of some of the choices that Diem made on this challenge with regards to the other girls (well Nany really). But I'm also going to give her a little leeway in that she was dealing with some intense issues that brought out the worst in her. It happens, we all have said and done things that we regret. Camila and Cara Maria have both expressed reservation with the choices that Diem has made in the game setting. They have also said that she is a sweet and wonderful person in real life. The hate that she has received is beyond the beyond.

In exes, she never had the chance since CT/Diem had a target on her back. Now on Rivals 2, she is the veteran with power and she showed her true colors. She is not a nice girl like she portrayed. A lot of her actions were passive aggressive to preserve her nice girl image. For example, she mentioned on the aftershow that she is a nice girl unlike the others in the house who sleep around. A dig at Cooke. I should edit my post to say Trey instead of Robb. I confused the two. I was referring to the afterbuzz interviews for Trey, Nehemiah, and Camila. When asked about Diem both Nehemiah and Trey mentioned she "plays the game." they talked about her politics. They didn't outright express that this was the real Diem, but they did imply that Diem is basically no different than the other cast members in terms of scheming and playing the game (like Johnny, Frank, Wes, etc.). Camila's recent interview mentioned how Diem didn't have her back at the end of the challenge. Another example of passive aggressive behavior by Diem
All I've seen here are a bunch of cryptic posts that are lacking in detail. No one spelled out in full detail what exactly Cooke did to get on Diem's bad side.
In the comments area of Diem's People blog from yesterday are two of the things about Cooke that have been whispered by some cast members. Diem didn't mentioned them in her blog; and, as far as I know, Diem doesn't plan to talk about them during the Reunion show.

You forget that she had to deal with a lot of stress because of her chemo and hormone shots. So yeah she might have acted up, but it's because she had other things on her plate that other people in the house didn't. And she HAS owned up to things - watch the after show. I just wish people would stop focusing on some of Diem's shortcomings. Yes, she does act entitled at times, but it's not like she just lounges around doing nothing. And it sucks that people seem to have genuine hate for her (not necessarily on vevmo, but according to her article).
(not necessarily on vevmo)
I wouldn't exclude vevmo or the possibility that one of the "haters" here could easily have sent Diem one of the hateful bullying messages she received like, "I wish someone would inject you with live cancer cells."

Not condoning it--just dealing with how the world works. Diem has always acted entitled on these shows...not sure why that can't be discussed. I saw nothing from Diem this season that was out of character for her.
