Paula was a great commentator during her time on The Challenges. Never disliked her, mostly liked her.
I agree with this lol I enjoyed Paula for the most part. The only time I didn't care for her was she was bullying Cara Maria and Laurel got her right back and then Pau;a played victim like she did nothing wrong. Glad to see Paula seems to be in a mentally good place in her life now.
I never understood the whole thing with wanting castmembers to be "real and authentic". Like sure there has been people who are real on the show but for the most part everyone has been fake and done shit for camera time. For me all I care about is if it's interesting or entertaining.
Im fine with fake if you're good at it. See Beth but most aren't and we get Josh Derrick and Nehemiah. Hell even John was good at it he just need a break once every 5 seasons or so.
Those are two perfect examples. Beth was playing a character but she was entertaining as all hell and delivered on most if not all the seasons she was on and became one of the premire characters in the era she was in so to me her being fake was fine. Backpack had a schtick too but for me the issue was that it was just...not good. And at times it seems like he's trying to fill the void of someone else if that makes sense. It all just fell flat as hell to me.
Beth delivered during the Duel & Gauntlet 2. That's about it, although her Gauntlet 2 run was legendary af. The way she had her whole team mad every episode, the rickshaw mission, Montana vs Beth in the Gauntlet.
lol same - I agree with this unpopular opinion - i enjoyed her.
I would LOVE to see Jenny back. Within the drama you do need a mixture of strong competitors, personality and politics. Jenny is a beast of a competitor. She's not getting any younger either, get her while she's in her peak. I feel like if she wasn't an alternate for DA and was on the cast she could have made her mark. You could tell she was getting pissed off with people like Dee using her then trying to throw her name in and I was just waitinggggggg for that snap. It can and will happen
This is a random one but I'm so over the constant clapping like seals for every little thing throughout every episode. I wish they could save us time during the episodes and just cut that shit out
Welcome to your next challenge *claps* rules explained *claps* first heat is up *claps* next heat *claps* great job everybody *claps* the winners are *claps* welcome to nominations *claps* so and so will be going into the arena *claps* welcome to the arena *claps* etc etc etc UGH
i feel like if I was a cast member I would purposely not clap from time to time out of spite. stop trying to make it so formal (more like formulaic)

#BringBackJenny the way you described her made me think of Double Agents as the season that could’ve been her villain origin story lol. I need her to turn into a British Laurel aka embracing the competitive paranoia and pulling out hit lists and shit cuz everyone is out to get her anyway, ya know wuhtahmean mate?¿? <3

say no more I love you already!
my other unpopular opinion is that Georgia needs a return! Cannot believe people are hating her for dressing up at a kids party and having no idea what painting her face black may do. People need educating. She's learnt, understood and now gets it. You surely can't hate someone who is still learning? I don't think she's racist and I'll die on my sword. I love her!
My least favorite type of confessionals of ALL TIME is when a small person gets whooped against a big person in a physical challenge and someone inevitably says "they are small but they're scrappy and putting up a fight". Someone even said this during Jasmine vs Laurel. It's tiresome. Just say they got whooped and move along.
I remember you said this (or a comment similar) years ago. And I agree.
sure she had one of the best opening eliminations to a season. And her cussing out Jordan was slightly amusing. but other than that she was a waste of a spot on her two other seasons.
Unpopular fact: she flopped at everything else on Free Agents.
Is this unpopular? I miss daily prizes - I love when they won random crap each mission - it gave them something to fight for but also made most people try. Like on Sexes 2 the women all won trips to Greece, or Brad one the motorcycle in Duel 1, etc. I don't get why they stopped it.
omg yes! like when they threw burger king prizes in for invasion, vendettas, and wotw1 i thought that was so cute and funny.
I want the prize money to be brought back to 350k total. These 20 episode seasons are because they want to earn back the money from giving away the million.

I don't believe bystanders should be able to assist the eliminees in an elimination. It should be your prowess versus the other person's prowess. Too often we've seen someone who should've rightfully lost and go home actually win and stay just because they had someone screaming the answers or the strategy at them.

Bring back exiles like Fresh Meat. I liked the surprise of seeing who won by the house plus it allows the winners to use strategy in telling what actually happened.

Agreed plus eliminations being mini-finals make sense
Not sure if this is an upopular opinion but I would a challenge made up of Devin, Marie and Amanda types who have personality than a group of Joss, Jenny, and Kaycee who physically would compete well but add little to drama.

Devin, Marie and Amanda being on a season together again is basically my nightmare lol
Unpopular Opinion: this show never recaptured the golden days of this show. I think starting w the Final of G2, a permanent decline began to take place. Obviously there were still good seasons since then, but many of the seasons that have followed since were either average or pretty chitty. The decline kicked into overdrive after Exes 2 (a good season) and nose dived directly after that. Invasion was ok, good cast but bad format.

I feel like that's how the show used to be during the "golden era" - it was more about personality than it was about physical strength - if that is an unpopular opinion I'm right there with you cause it made the show 20 x's better back in the day.

I agree.
Not sure if this is unpopular or not but I think Justin Booth is the reason for the decline and he ruined the show making it more about super fit people doing stunts.
It's true, the missions on fresh meat 1 became much more athletic and physically demanding. I'm surprised the Gauntlet 2's circus of a final was directly before that. Literal carnival games
I think most of today's fans actually like the show's modern-day rigorous and competitive format so it probably is an unpopular opinion
I remember actually wanting to be on the show growing up because it looked like fun but that quickly changed around the gauntlet 3/island era lol
- The show was at its finest when it wasn't a 'sport' and there were a lot of elements of fun to it
- The UK invasion was brilliant. Admittedly not like earlier challenge days but in recent times could have saved the show. WOTW was one of the best shows in recent seasons, if not the best
- Love Island & Big Brother are crap shows to cast from. Yes you want drama but these guys always seem to force it. The show was much better without the forced dramas. Natural drama is always better, these guys always do stuff for a casting call

I would like to see contestants pay for their own flights to location.

Cara will save this show from sinking any further.
Justin booth was on gauntlet 2 btw. The finals got fked cause I think the cast saw the finals course they were building so they called an audible.
but regardless that final is the point in the show I can point at and say yup this is where it's decline began.
fm = average
duel = great
inferno 3 = average
gauntlet 3 = bad
island = awful
duel 2 = below average

well, big brother and a few others
Unpopular opinion: debut album posts from 2015/2016 aged very well
