So Laurel came into my job today (shoe store) and was actually very nice and polite. She also doesn't seem like such a giant in person as she does on tv, even though I'm only 5'1. She's also a blonde now.
I imagined that she was a nice person outside of The Challenge because she said during her FM2 casting tape (or during a confession) that competition brings out the ***** in her.

TV characters and real life personalities aren't always a match.

I still think its no excuse as to what she did to Big Easy... Shes not 14.. She needs to be responsible for that stuff, "tv character" or not. I don't think it should matter what character your are in, saying those kinds of things to someone that is obviously self conscious about it is ridiculous, and then not apologizing in person is even worse. Even big time *****es can be nice.. so maybe its the other way around. She might be a ***** that was in a nice phase when she was shopping for shoes, not a nice girl that turns into a *****.

Yup, my clue bag is empty on that one (mostly 'cause Katie would beat the crap out of me if I didn't side with Eric. )
I loved Laurel on Fresh Meat 2 and Cutthroat... definately lost all my respect for her on Rivals. It was very cowardly of her to round up people to vote Aneesa/Robin into the jungle when Laurel/Cara Maria stood a better chance. Robin is awful which is unfortunate that she costed Aneesa the win.

She had absolutely no reason to jeopardize herself so early when she could get rid of a good team by politicking. How is her throwing in people who have a chance of beating Paula/Ev any better than the mob or Aneesa/Robin wanting to throw them in? She played smart and Cara Maria should thank God that Laurel is so quick on her feet because if she'd been paired with someone else, there's a great chance that she would've been first to go home. Again.

Sometimes it's easier to beat some one in an elimination round than in the finals. Ev is good at everything but Paula doesnt seem very strong and seems more like a runner. The rest of them should have just sent in laurel/Cara because I dont see Aneesa as some super athlete and especially not with Robin as her partner and I think Ev and Paula would do better in the finals than Aneesa/Robin.

I'm saying that Laurel had a good reason to not want to go in, and she executed her plan well, so I don't get why she gets such bad rep for it. I'm just glad both teams got to stay because I can go without Aneesa, and definitely without Robin. The Laurel/Cara Maria and Evelyn/Paula dynamics will make the challenge more entertaining and intense, especially if they stay until the finals against Jonna/Jasmine (doubtful, but a girl can hope).

Same reason people don't like JEK. It doesn't matter that it worked or that it saved her ***. She was clearly lying through her teeth when she was said that Robin/Aneesa stand the best chance to beat Evelyn/Paula, and the reason SHE was the one to come up with the plan is because she knew if she didn't, SHE would be the one going in. I think she remembers her elimination rounds on FM2 and Cutthroat well enough to play an offensive game right from the get-go. And honestly, it was probably in Laurel's best interest to go in, too. What's Cara Maria's weakness? Long distance. What is Paula's strength? Distance running. And we all know what finals are like. She stands a better chance of beating those two in an elimination than in a final with CM. Don't get me wrong--I like Cara Maria and I don't think she's weak. But I don't think she has the endurance that Paula and Evelyn do.

I think it was a two fold move that worked out very well, and Laurel was smart to do it, here's why: 1) By putting someone else in/getting yourself out, you're definitely safe (I mean, really, who wants to go up against Paula/Evelyn or be the Jungle guinea pig? No one) 2) Everyone knows, no one else had a chance against Evelyn and Paula (based on the other teams' known abilities so far) except Cara Maria/Laurel. However, the second in line who could take them out would be Aneesa/Robin only because of Aneesa's impressive elimination list. So, because of Laurel's move, she saved herself and there was actually a chance of knocking Evelyn out. I think it was a brilliant move, and I don't think it was shady one bit. She actually TOLD Aneesa and Robin what she thought and why she wanted to vote them in and she voted for Aneesa and Robin after Aneesa called her name to go up in the jungle. People who don't like the social game may not like that move, but I think it was a smart move. Just my opinion.

As far as it being a smart move, I already explained why I don't think it was. Against anyone else, I think she would have been smart to avoid the elimination. But just based on their strengths and weaknesses that we've seen in the past, I really think that Laurel and Cara Maria stand a better chance beating Paula and Evelyn in an elimination over a final. Of course, there's always the small chance that someone else will eliminate Evelyn/Paula, which is why it would be smart to try and get them into an elimination as often as possible. But that chance is really low, especially considering the competition.

I think she only did that to save her own ***. Annesa and Robin are not stronger than Laurel/Cara Maria because even though Aneesa is good at eliminations its a team elimination not 1 on 1. I think if Laurel went in and won, then she would easily win the game because no body would want to go in against her. But still there isn't many girls that want to go in against the strongest opponent unless your Evelyn, who doesn't seem to be afraid of anyone on these shows when it comes to the girls.

I'm saying that because she couldn't catch up to Landon alone on FM2, and she broke down on Cutthroat. But I think that unless someone is a huge liability like Eric, the best is to try to not worry about them too much and just make it to the finals. Finals always have an element of surprise and people have pulled huge upsets. Laurel & CM could solve a puzzle while no one else does (see Fresh Meat), or do something else that will give them an advantage (see Fresh Meat 2 and The Ruins). And at worst, if Paula & Ev are still there at the finals, they'll beat Laurel & CM, who can take second place, instead of being the 1st team getting sent home.

In FM 2, I honestly think Landon is just that much of a beast. And on Cutthroat, she was pulling a LOT of weight for her team, and they never showed her having to go back when Luke forgot part of his puzzle. There is an element of surprise, but don't expect Evelyn to be the one to choke on a puzzle.
I wasn't feeling Laurel for her first two challenges, but I think of all the Fresh Meat 2 girls, she is by far the most deserving of her spot as a new regular. She is great television and a ******. When she gets drunk and gets mean, she kind of reminds me of a female CT. Maybe she IS the female CT. ha ha. Except she won't be stupid enough to punch somebody.
I'm perfectly fine with Laurel being a challenge regular. She's the perfect combo; A strong competitor, attractive and provides plenty of drama.

They're all competitive and great competitors when they're sober, then when they're drunk... run!!! But for some reason, people love CT and hate Laurel, when in essence, to me, they seem like the same person in different genders.
Love the girl but I can't believe she is 25, she comes across as very young and immature.
I thought they all had to go back if they didn't get the puzzle right?
That's what they said in the rules, but they never showed that part on TV and Laurel going back is something I heard, probably somewhere here. As far as Laurel being a female CT, I don't buy it. CT doesn't make random personal attacks on people when he's drunk. He sometimes says stupid things, but it's usually regarding the game, not calling people ugly, fat, worthless, etc.

And threatening his life/health is much better than being called ugly and fat. They're both abuse- one physical and one verbal/emotional.
Does Davis ring a bell?
I meant verbal, not physical. I was going to add in something about how yes, he gets into physical fights, but decided not to. Apparently my every word (or lack thereof) gets picked on. And as far as the Davis thing goes, I kind of wish we knew more about what happened. Abram once said something about how Davis deserved it and he thought it was stupid that CT went home, but then again, this is from the same guy that got sent home twice for starting fights.
I meant verbal, not physical. I was going to add in something about how yes, he gets into physical fights, but decided not to. Apparently my every word (or lack thereof) gets picked on.
Well, "random personal attacks" is a very vague statement. Your words probably get picked on because they are vague statements that are open to interpretation. But no, CT does not appear to make random verbal statements toward a person like Laurel does.
The way she treats Cara Maria is disgusting, especially when she always comes in second not 1st.
The way she treats Cara Maria is disgusting, especially when she always comes in second not 1st.
By "she" do you mean Laurel? I agree. I really hope she respects CM more this season.

I really hope she respects CM more this season.
I have a feeling she does... in some way, since she and Cara Maria seem so close on Twitter etc. It would seem as though she changed her attitude and/or Cara Maria is an extremely forgiving person. It boggles me though, how much a lot of cast members seems cool with her in real life, yet it seems totally different how she portrays herself on television. I'm a fan of Laurel, but I honestly hope she learns to respect people more or have a change of heart (much like CT did and Johnny after being embarrassed on Cutthroat). I think she has the ability to be a great competitor so I hope she proves herself to be more.... likable (for lack of a better term) this season. Looking forward to seeing her perform.

Laurel doesn't seem to care and does not want to apologize to people, you can get help with anger but I don't know if you can cure *****.
