It probably isn't a partner challenge. We just found out about the female eliminations first, it does not mean they were eliminated together.

There is a history of having replacements mid-challenge. MJ came in at the start of the 4th episode on The Gauntlet 3. I do not know if thenewrock is credible or not, but it is possible and BMP has done it before.
Here are some options with the Cara Maria deal:
Option 1:
Its a rivals 2, Naomi quit the game and was replaced by Cara. Ana and Jess lost to Cara and Cooke, ******* off Ana since Cooke/Naomi was a weaker pair.
Option 2:
Jessica freaked out before the challenge and quit and a similar situation to last season with Sydney happened and both Ana and Jess were sent home. Production was probably delayed and they were replaced by Cara Maria and a new partner (Mandi maybe? They fought on the original Rivals).
Option 3:
It's not a partner challenge and either Jessica or Naomi quit screwing over Ana ala Casey and Coral on Gauntlet 3. And Cara replaced the quitter.
Option 4:
Jessica quit and was replaced by Cara, and her and Ana are now eliminated.
Just stuff to think about.
A partner challenge would seriously ruin everything. If it's another partners challenge I honestly don't see CT, Johnny, Leroy, Sarah and Emily being too happy and might not even do a future challenge (if there is one) if they don't win. I don't see how they can continue to waste their strong players on partner challenges. What if there was a case that the next one is a Duel and Emily can't make it? She'd probably be pissed because that was something she probably wanted all along.
I can see a couple of possibilities...
CM replaced Naomi ...
Ana & Jess were cut for being rookies because some veteran quit the challenge of the day due to fear or they basically gave up on it midway through and then insisted that the Portland girls get bounced.
Finally, it could be another "trim the fat" scenario as well starting with the Portland girls.
I have a feeling it is a team scenario, possibly Battle of the Sexes
Based on how Anastasia seems, I think Jessica quit before it even started and they were both replaced, Ana seemed pretty heated about the quitter and she seems like someone who owns up to her actions (if she lost).
I doubt that if Naomi is the one who quit they'd bring in Cara to be teamed with Cooke Randomly. We've seen 2 scenarios of quit/dq. 1) they brought in Mike for LeRoy (not Rivals but still knew each other) 2) they completely replaced Sydney with Fresh Meat.
I bet Ana and Jess got replaced.
Well, from what Anastasia said, it seems like someone was talking a lot of crap and then lost or quit forcing her to go home. Jess does not strike me as the type to talk up having a big game about something.

She didn't say anything about talking crap she said they were nothing the first time and they are nothing again and would fade out, the only girl she knew before was Jessica, she hasn't interacted with the other RWs yet because her show had yet to air when they left.
And from what is hearing Jessica isn't at all what she seems.
Not upset that these two are gone. I can see Anastasia clashing big time with some of the guys like Johnny or Knight. lol.
A lot of people seem to hate Jessica and think she's fake.
What if Anastasia was talking about someon like Trishelle? Saying fade out again like you did the first time makes me think that. Plus Trishelle seems like the type who would totally screw someone over by quitting on a challenge. Look how she faked being sick just to get out of a trivia challenge or how she let her team down during the water challenge.
I think she would crack skulls with Johnny really easily because she hates being disrespected even accidentally or in a minor fashion (just witness her blow up with Jordan) and Bananas' fav saying is: "Ya dumb *****!"
Not sure about Jessica yet but I know I would have loved to see Joi on it and I know she would absolutely do a Challenge.
If Cara Maria has in fact replaced someone, that should imply that we have continued the streak of seasons where someone goes home for reasons other than losing an elimination round or being voted off that's been going on since The Inferno

In terms of seasons with eliminations, they technically first did it with Dan replacing Puck after Dan was already eliminated off of Battle of the Sexes, although that was because the teams had to be even.

I won't be convinced it's rivals 2, simply because I don't want to believe it and there are always people left out like Leroy Tyrie and Dunbar. Cara maria added to the mix makes the rivals concept even more bizarre.
It sort of makes sense with some match ups but Its probably a new format.
Why is everyone ruling out the Duel 3? The Duel 1 had a 20 person cast and the Duel 2 was increased by 6 to 26. It wouldn't be completly crazy if the Duel 3 cast was again increased by 6 to a 32 member cast. As for the eliminations, if there really is a social media ban (with the exception of Portland people), then it's not weird that no guys have shown up on social media yet. There could be a twist in this season's rules that gets rid of more people faster to make up for the increase in cast size.

I can only tell you why I discount "Duel 3."
Senior executive from BMP have in the past indicated to several cast members that their desire for "Duel 3" involved both memorable personalities from The Duel and the best individual players since that time. The memorable personalities I expect to see are not among the current cast.
If it is a partner challenge, I am curious about the Cara Maria situation. There are a lot of signs that point to her being a replacement on this next challenge. If she is indeed one, did she and another person replace an entire team, or did she replace one person of a team.

I think it's worse. At least Mike and LeRoy knew each other and had a preexisting relationship. Cara and Cooke would just be a random physically dominating pair.
And everyone thought a CT/ Johnny pair would be unfair.

I would think Nany is paired with Cook, its odd that if it is a partner thing that they can just replace someone and partner them with someone that has no connection to them, like on the 1st rivals at least mike/leroy knew eachother, cm/cook is just random. Who else does CM have connections to? I dont think she has a girl rival if it is rivals, I seriously cant think of any other random types of partner challenge other than fm, maybe it is pairing rookies with vets?
I'm glad Duel 3 isn't an option. Besides Johnny and CT and MAYBE Zach, Frank, and Leroy this is a fairly weak group of guys. The Duel 1 cast was stacked but Landon, Evan, and Mark won every challenge on the Duel 2 and it made it not as interesting.
Plus on the girls side you could just hand Emily the check.

Maybe Jenn is returning! Although I'm sure if they could have got Cara and Jenn then they would have been a team in the first place.
