Random, but when making calls for the challenges, does BMP prefer someone who is athletic or someone who is entertaining?
Then again, they do cast people like Shauvon and Casey...I might have just answered my own question.
Casey is hilarious in my opinion and I loved her little comments on all the shows. Sure she's not the greatest athletically but she's entertaining.
How do you group Brandon in with the rest of them?
He's been on 3 challenges and i think it's because someone very important likes him. He's not brought on to be some huge power player and it's clear he isn't brought on to create drama. So he's just there because they can't get anyone else who would actually make an impact or someone likes him.
Casey is hilarious in my opinion and I loved her little comments on all the shows. Sure she's not the greatest athletically but she's entertaining.
Yeah but she is completely frustrating as a player. She is sooo bad at the challenges and doesnt even want to be there to compete, I couldnt imagine how hard it must be to be on her team, I felt Kim's pain on The Ruins....speaking of Kim, she is a much better version of Casey, her comments are hilarious, she has what it takes athletically and socially, too bad she is done with challenges.
It seems like all the good people are either retiring from challenges or arent being asked.

I think that he's a pretty darn good competitor. He did very well on Cutthroat, and as for his performances on FM2 and Rivals, you can chalk it up to the fact that Katelynn and Ty are both inferior competitors.
Its sad, really. You would would think that someone who is in college and is as pretty as her would try and find someone way better than Whor-yer or Bananas.
Either way, she may be in shape but she doesn't strike me as someone who is very athletic. I'd rather have Cooke on the challenge than her. I really like drama and all, but I watch the Real World for that; I'd rather see people who have personalities but would really shine in the missions and make them actually worth watching.
I really enjoy Johnny but yeah, it's a bit odd. Maybe she's just being a gold digger haha. Working her way to the top by getting close to the the shot caller. I feel like it's something she would do. By the way doesn't he have a girlfriend?
Same here... Cooke is the one girl from Las Vegas 2011 that I'd want to see on the Challenges. She's probably be on the same level as Ev and Laurel. Too bad she's away playing soccer.
I agree with TSPKM2, Kim is a great competitor and great entertainment. I just wish they'd cast more girls who can actually compete, and not girls who make us all look bad.

He has a lot of potential, he just hasn't had much luck. On Cutthroat they kept throwing him in, so of course after 100 Gulags, he finally caved. On FM2 and Rivals, he was paired with the worst girl, and one of the worst guys. If 50% of your team sucks, there's not much you can do.

I love Kim! I dislike that shes done with challenges, she had real potential to win one imo.

True, there's not much you can do, unless if you're super Landon

Exactly. He's always just ...there. I'd rather have Noor than Brandon; not that there is anything wrong with Noor, I just think he should be brought back on and would do way better than Brandon or Danny.

Casey and Katelyn both suck but Wes was able to make it all the way to the end. And on Rivals, up to the point where they got eliminated i thought Wes was having a harder time with Kenny than Brandon was with Ty. They worked well together on the hammock challenge and Ty was actually beating Brandon on Sink and Swim. So it's not like Brandon was superman trying to carry Ty through that challenge. Same with Katelynn on FM2. People just keep making excuses for him because they like him and they want him to do well.
And he was not thrown in as much as Wes was on FM and Derrick was on Gauntlet and they actually beat some serious players. Brandon beat Derek, JD, and Ty. And he lost to Derrick, who i think was his perfect match up on Cutthroat.
I personally don't think he brings much personality to the challenges either, and if he does then they don't air it.

Yea I hope they bring Noor back but I don't think they will. Not for this next challenge anyway.

I'm not saying that he's great, but he's far from being bad. Of course he's not as good as Wes or Derrick nobody's claiming that. Wes and Derrick are 2 of the Top 10 best competitors ever in the challenge. Brandon's probably not in the Top 20 but he's still impressive and talented. And thus, I believe that he brings something to the game.
Brandon beat two small guys who seemed pretty easy to beat and beat Ty via fluke. Outside of that one rope climb against Wes, I still haven't seen anything special from this guy, nor did I buy into the whole "Everyone hates Brandon" story on Cutthroat.

Brandon did get hosed in Cutthroat but it was a brilliant strategy by the Red Team. He can't swim so he prevents you from winning Challenges and he is strong enough to win a few elimination rounds to create a buffer and lower your odds of having to go into one.

But I think that people are overrating his performance tremendously. He did nothing to stand out in the first four, though no one else really did either, then he screwed up twice in a row. People were hailing him as the best guy on the red team and that was just ridiculous. I still say that a lot wasn't shown and he got a good edit. I mean just think about the sky hook episode. Some of the red team has gone on record to say that they legitimately thought Brandon was the worst guy on the team, so why would they let him lead unless he was hyping himself up as able to get through the rings?
Alright General Question here: Which season do you think was better? The Duel 1 or The Gauntlet 3?
For me it's The Duel hands down. This was the 1st time where everyone was ON THEIR OWN. No teams at all. We finally got to see what these people can do when there isn't anyone to fall back on. Great challenge Moments like Beth/Nehemiah hook up(TENDERONI!!) Tina's attempt to punch Beth. CT/Brad's Duel. The Fall of Kina and Beth, and Wes and Svetlana(who were Rookies at the time) Making it to the end(and winning in Wes's case).
How about you all?

Interestingly enough, those are 2 favorite seasons. The Duel was the first season I ever watched but I didn't fall in love with the Challenge until finishing The Gauntlet 3. I think I prefer the Duel format, however I believe that The Gauntlet 3 was super funny and ended in what I consider to be the biggest upset in challenge history. Tough choice.... A little too tough.

I loved the Duel it had a All-Star cast if you think about it, even though they were mostly rookies, and that season had elimination round match-ups you don't see anymore.

I think it is The Duel also. The actual competition of it was awesome while in Gauntlet III it was pretty stale because the Veterans dominated early and realized there was no incentive to win late so they just started throwing missions to get rid of weak players.
Ahh, I thought Carley did a good job. :(
Really? I thought she sucked, Landon would have won with any partner, she looked like she was dying or hallucinating during that exile with Ev.
To be honest, although Erika and Ashley would probably bring in the drama, I would rather see Mike than any of the other cast members. I thought Emily was boring and Ty is pretty much a shoe-in for drama if he's on the cast so I'd actually only care to see Mike and Ty.
As far as NOLA 2 goes, I think the only people worth seeing would be Jemmye, Knight, and Ryan. I can't stand Jemmye, so I would just to see her there to cause problems and then get her *** kicked. Ryan would definitely cause drama.
I think I would be content with never seeing anyone from Cancun or Hollywood again though.
I'd like to see Brianna back, even though BMP probably won't even ask her back since she didn't stand out on The Ruins.

I'd love to see Joey Kovar from RW: Hollywood on a challenge, I always thought he'd be a beast.

Both seasons were good, but Gauntlet 3 had the worse ending to it though. You have CT carrying Big Easy through the ocean, then them carrying him till he almost died, while the rookies had a huge lead, then the vets catch up and beat the rookies just to be dq'd which seems to always happen to CT in both Duel and Gauntlet lol both bull technicalities.

Good question...
The Duel I was good, I love Fitz, so it's a +100 for me, end of the question :)
The Gauntlet III had Tori, so that's a -50...
Jk.
Well, barely.
Anyway, overall, I liked the cast of the Duel I as much as the cast of the Gauntlet III, and it was a novel concept (although I saw the Duel II before the Duel I). But the problem with the Gauntlet III was that, it was too predictable. The ending made the season "interesting", but it kind of disgusted me at the same time. I'm not saying the way the vets treated Big E was ok, but after winning almost every challenge and catching up to the rookies despite their problems throughout the final, you could tell who was the better team, athletically... They definitely got screwed over on this one. Maybe it was Karma, but still, it made me pretty angry.
So I don't think I can pick one actually!

I'd love to see Brittini and Brianna too!! But I also wouldn't mind Jonna and CJ from Cancun on another challenge.

Agreed, I liked Duel 1 better, there was no competition on G3 the bad ***** dominated the whole game and lost in the end, it was bull****, it was a waste of their time. And if they do another duel it better be the same as duel 1 format none of that partnering up for the challenges bull crap. And I wana see a Kenny/Wes duel or a rematch of Wes/Derrick and a Laurel/Evelyn duel.
Really? I thought she sucked, Landon would have won with any partner, she looked like she was dying or hallucinating during that exile with Ev.
Yeah well that was a really hard Exiel and I disagree that Landon would have won with any partner. Carley was the type to never give up and its not like he literally picked her up and put her on his shoulders, she did had to get to the top of that hill before Sydney, Ev, Jill, Jenn and Laurel and she did. I do realize that Landon was a big help by carrying weight but I think Carley held her own, of course she would have to come back and do a challenge without partners to really be able to tell if she can handle it or not.
Carley did awful.
Well she won 2 challenges, 2 Exiles and she won the whole challenge on her first try, so...no she didnt do awful. She's a winner and thats better than girls like Laurel, Cara Maria, Aneesa, Sarah, Kelly Anne and Robin can say.
