No. Not relatable.
How is the concept of good vs evil not even remotely relatable?
How is the concept of good vs evil not even remotely relatable?
Because there's no depth with that theme. With Exes and Rivals the concept is to put your differences a side with someone you have personal issues with to win money but grow from the situation and bond as the season goes on or for some teams to hate each other even more. Either way there needs to be a story. With heroes vs. villains it just straight competition basically.
BMP are trolls. Says they want viewers and ratings Doesn't realize that big team challenges like Gauntlet 3 and Ruins brought in great ratings
I was curious so I looked up the ratings for the Ruins. Their ratings were basically on par with Rivals II, except their finale was a little higher, but not by much. The Ruins also experienced a significant drop from the ratings of the Duel 2, whereas Rivals II was experiencing an increase in ratings from Seasons.
I feel like ths title "Heroes vs. Villians" is almost too classy for the Challenges, lol.
I feel like ths title "Heroes vs. Villians" is almost too classy for the Challenges, lol.
Truthfully it does!
Struggling to think of themes they haven't done yet. So as for recycling... Battle of the sexes has had a long gap in between a second and possible third iteration, so I guess that can make a return someday. Rivals as phenomenal a concept as it was should have taken time in between the first and second go. I wouldn't mind another Cutthroat. If we're going to recycle things and bring back the bank accounts, might as well go with what has the best possibility of creating enough drama and tension (i.e. secret votes and so on). And a Heroes vs Villains is actually a jovial little concept there. We've got no shortage of established villains, but the Heroes would be one boring squad to watch. Cara Maria and her group of oddballs if anything xD
Back in the day.
Exactly! People always say it works before...mhm in the past 5 years there is a reality show for everything. Social experiments of seeing people act in certain situations that are reliable seems to bring the rating in every network according to those articles.
BMP are trolls. Says they want viewers and ratings Doesn't realize that big team challenges like Gauntlet 3 and Ruins brought in great ratings
Check the Ratings thread for the gauntlet 3 those ratings at that time weren't great, there was even rumors of the show getting cancel. The Ruins were similar to Rivals 2 , which mean Rivals 1 and Exes get better ratings so in other words. Exes have been the highest rated in the last 9 season including The Ruins.
I want a big team challenge again. If they need an easily comprehended theme, they should go for Inferno IV. Tout it as heroes vs villains. Boom.
I think Good Vs Evil, villains vs Heroes, Allies going against each others, Brain vs Brawl vs Beauty, etc. can work too and it's relatable in my opinion. It doesn't only have to be pairs.
People say "Good vs Evil" isn't "relatable", so what other themes can BMP possibly come up with that's more of a standout than Good vs Evil? They just have Rivals and Exes. The only other theme I can think of is Allies, but that would only be interesting if the winners of the eliminations come back, even if 1 person won from one pair and another one from the other thus creating a new pair where they need to work as "allies" since they're paired up. So, in an essence, two 1v1 eliminations.
I think an Allies theme with a unique format would be great IMO, even if others think it won't cause as much tension. Actually, with a theme like that, it just screams alliances which have been a huge part in the drama aspect on these shows. I think viewers can 'relate' to a theme like that. 1 on 1 eliminations would be great too, with the winners being the new allies, even if they dislike each other. Sounds like a combination of friendship + rivals. I also believe that Good vs. Evil can still work as a theme. Sounds like another Inferno to me.
I would be interested who would be cast for a good vs. evil format though.
I don't know about Good vs Evil. That's been done before twice and I doubt the teams would be balanced.
I don't know about Good vs Evil. That's been done before twice and I doubt the teams would be balanced.
It last occured like 7 years ago. The cast would also be pretty different from Inferno 3. I think the format definitely has potential.
I could have sworn Mark or Derrick said BMP doesn't like doing team challenges anymore because they don't have enough drama in the beginning opposed to with partners there is drama in the beginning. I think from here on out its partners or individual. However, if they do individual again it'll be Duel 3 or All Stars.
If they ever did a Good vs Evil theme, what team would CT and Bananas go to? They have both displayed a good side and bad.
If they ever did a Good vs Evil theme, what team would CT and Bananas go to? They have both displayed a good side and bad.
Based on recent edits I'd say CT - Heroes, Bananas - Villains.
If we end up getting Exes 2, I hope they change the format up a bit. Power Couple choosing one team/last place goes in gets too predictable after a while.
Frank has been talking so much crap as if he was a god at these challenges. I'm not denying his potential, I think he can definitely win a challenge imo but at the same time I have my doubts, as well as a hundred thousand other people who don't like his attitude. If he's so confident in his abilities then he should back them up. Winning an easy final, being paired up with King Bananas, beating Chet and Zito in eliminations is not really impressive.
1) Why does everybody say the Seasons 2 final was easy, when TJ said it was the 'hardest one ever' or is that just what he always says? Is it based on what the people who ran it have said? Or just your opinions? Or that it was easy because it was against less difficult opponents? 2) Why does everybody bring up the 'he was paired with Bananas' thing when he outperformed Bananas the entire season? 3) Beating Zito, who had been heralded by many (don't even try to deny this, not saying you did but many did) as an up-and-coming great competitor, while he had PNEUMONIA, in an elimination that favored height, where he had a two inch height disadvantage? I would say that elimination (obviously not the one against Chet) WAS impressive. I'm not saying Frank is the best ever (of course he's not) but you and many other seriously undersell him much of the time. Edit: I wanna add that I also often see people say Zach had to carry Frank to the end of Seasons 2, which is quite frankly a delusion.
If we end up getting Exes 2, I hope they change the format up a bit. Power Couple choosing one team/last place goes in gets too predictable after a while.
Power Couple chooses one team, the other team is chosen... ...by the draw
Maybe they will do an Explosion thing that's kind of like Fresh Meat where they bring in competitors and their real-life exes (mostly kidding).
Power Couple chooses one team, the other team is chosen... ...by the draw
I personally am a fan of the draw, so I wouldn't mind that, but I'm sure others would. Maybe something akin to the Scoreboard?
I doubt they will bring back the draw. Based off feedback I've seen over the recent episodes of FA, most viewers are completely over the draw and are hating it.
Power Couple chooses one team, the other team is chosen... ...by the draw
Well, we'd already know that a team of Johnny / Averey would be safe every time lol
NOOOOOOOOO DRAW!!!!!!! All politics so people like Johnny can see an elimination.
I would have really, really liked the draw if it was only that the winning person/pair/team were safe and everybody else had to go in. That way there would have been a huge incentive to do well on missions, and a good chance to see good competitors in eliminations every week.
I knew the Draw was an awful idea before Free Agents even aired. The fact that someone can slide to the end without doing any athletic OR political work whatsoever just killed the whole idea for me.
I didn't like how the winning pair could only pick certain players. Everyone that lost should be automatically sent to the draw and be able to get voted in by the winning pair/team. Therefore nobody is safe, unless you win.
I personally am a fan of the draw, so I wouldn't mind that, but I'm sure others would. Maybe something akin to the Scoreboard?
I would love a system that rewards players based on score whether it be a acore that rolls over throughout the whole season or one that starts fresh at 0 each mission. They should set it up where a lot of points are available each week so challengers that are further down the scoreboard have a chance to catch up with the leaders if they ever do another system like the one that was used in Battle of the Sexes.
If you ask me. I liked the Draw. It added a bit of unpredictability that was sorely needed on these things. But the one thing that did bug me was that only certain people went into the draw. I think that part of it was stupid and BS. The winners should pick the guy and a girl to go into elimination and then EVERYONE ELSE goes into the draw. Not just certain people.
[B] But the one thing that did bug me was that only certain people went into the draw. Not just certain people.
That aspect of the format really screwed things up. This system made it so people got rewarded for tanking missions and coming in last if they could tell someone who doesn't like them and would want to vote them in was gonna win. It was pretty stupid that players were often better served to finish in last place where a random card draw dictates who goes in out of 4-6 people then they would be to finish in second place where they'd be a lock to go in if the winner of that day was someone who doesn't like them.
