The Veronica/Jodi elimination round was completely bogus and a way for production to keep Veronica there for the drama. There's no proof of this - but that's what I think at least. It seemed so unfair for Jodi (who is much taller). The mummy-sheet was wrapping around Jodi's knees while Veronica's was wrapping nicely around her waist (not due to skill or strategy - just simply size).
9/10 Jodi beats Veronica in a physical elimination round. To think Veronica could even compete with Evelyn in a one-on-one physical elimination round is funny to me.
"Yeah. Frankly they should've pumped the weak girls into the Ruins against KellyAnne- used her to their advantage to trim the fat, so to speak. Trying to eliminate one of maybe two girls on that squad who could actually get rid of our weak links was a boneheaded move, and entirely personally motivated. It left them carrying Susie on the Final and almost losing it" (Evelyn)
I found this answer on Evelyn's formspring to a question of why JEK sent Evelyn into the Ruins when she was their strongest female. I also don't like Evelyn because she seems to have beef with all of my favorite castmembers (Derrick, Susie, Kellyanne and Coral).

Evelyn and Derrick get along just fine and any issues between them have been squashed (confirmed via Twitter).
She almost beat Landon AND Carley who nearly passed out on that exile and probably cost Landon a great deal of time.
Oh come on its not like Luke was superman, he was picked last, so Carly was a ****** girl and Luke was the ********* guy. But Landon is a man and I'm sure is much stronger than Evelyn, but they still came very close. If I remember correctly the weight to be carried was 150 total and Ev carried more than half, and if you remember the Laurel/Kenny bucket exile with only 100 pounds, guess how many Kenny was carrying while he was struggling, just 90, for some reason he only gave laurel 10 pounds.

See now this is called being a hater, you cant not like some one because they got in fights with certain people. She has reasons to not like those people, for the Kelly Anne thing she was bffs with her at one point and w/e happened between them is none of our business, like would you still feel that way if it was Kelly Anne in the wrong? The Derrick thing is his fault, he just likes to talk ****, Susie is just a ***** and Ev never did anything to her, Coral apparently picked on her and tried to get her out on G3 (why would you wana get rid of the strongest girl on your team?! Jealous much?)
I also sometime hear, Oh I hate him because others like him so much and think he's great when I disagree, you cant hate on someone just because he/she has a lot of fans that back him/her to the death, thats like the dude in high school that gets a lot of girls but other guys dont like it because they think he doesnt deserve the attention. < another example of being a hater.

I don't hate anyone but I do root against people who have a lot of fans and root for the ones who don't. The more fans someone has, the more I hope they lose lol. So like for BOTExes, as soon as I saw the cast my favorites were CT/Diem and Ty/Emily. But people started posting about how they are so sure CT and Diem will win this challenge and how they barely have any competition and how they deserve it more than anyone... they quickly went to the bottom of the list for me. So now I'm fully rooting for Emily and Ty.
I don't think that's being a hater though because I still like Diem and CT but I just love rooting for the underdogs.

Lol I know the feeling it can get annoying when some one is praised so much but some people actually do hate on certain people just because they are well liked. I think because a lot of people like something it becomes less interesting to some people, but still you can root for others but theres no need for the badmouthing. Not saying you do it but others seem to.

I don't understand what you thought was wrong with my statement. I said that "I don't like Evelyn". Yes, you pointed out that I'm a "hater" of Evelyn which I already said. Plus, how is what I put in bold not hating. "Susie is just a ***** and Ev never did anything wrong"? If V1Man said this, then I would believe him since he knows Evelyn and I think he knows Susie too. But, you know just as much as I do and probably even less about what actually happened and how it actually went down. So... you are hating as well.

Yes I do hate on Susie but not because she doesnt like people that I like, I dont like her because she always sounds condescending, always laughs when the guys make fun of the girls, and I dont like her game play, she was acting like Wes throwing the challenges in the ruins was the worst thing ever, when their plan all along was to send him in every time and then a few episodes later she starts threatening to throw it, hypocrite. Not to mention her game play on I3, had her friends not try so she wins the life shield thing resulting in her team loosing because of very slow times, ridiculous. I3 was the only time I agreed with Johnny. Derrick talks ****, thats no secret and is annoying. I gave reasons why I dont like them. I was just simply saying hating on someone just because they have conflicts with people you like sounds weird to me, thats all.

Tim Tebow??

Why not pork or chicken? The correct slang is "a beef," not simply to "have beef."
Susie is the one who set up the Kelly Anne v. Evelyn elimination, so you may need to pick between Kelly Anne and Susie on your favorites list. Susie and the veterans all expected Evelyn to easily win and they wanted Kelly Anne gone because she was the core strength of the Rookies. What Evelyn did came as a shock to the veterans because the concept of having moral courage on a challenge has not exactly been something production or the cast normally aspire to uphold.
On her last challenge, Coral was just a lot of hot air, albeit, entertaining hot air most of the time.
Derrick, well he was interesting as a cast member. Now, he's not exactly pathetic, but perhaps just more of a disappointment in his podcast role. BTW, Derrick's on-camera support for Tonya on The Island was really only to make himself look good, and the out-of-order edit of voting her in worked into his agenda.

Someone on Wikipedia said it best (as I'm too lazy to try and explain it myself and Google offered decent explanations):
With his unorthodox NFL QB skill set, frequent demonstrations of his religious devotion, and ability to help his team win, Tebow has attracted unprecedented praise, criticism, and attention from the sporting media and beyond.
It's hard to hate Tim Tebow because of the person he is, but when ESPN shoves Tebow **** down our throat for three hours a day, it becomes a bit easier.

This is probably five pages ago, but I am just catching up on this thread ...
I feel that Evelyn may be one of the most overrated players in challenge history. While she appears to be an excellent physical competitor, she is far from the best female to participate in a MTV Challenge series.
Her downfall is that she is not a complete player. She may dominate in the physical aspect of the game, but what the viewers have come to realize (and many of the contestants who participate in reality television competition programs have come to learn) is winning these game shows depends on playing physically, socially, and mentally. Evelyn lacks at least one, and maybe two, of the three components of being an well-rounded player, and she fails to credit other players who use their social skills and mental abilities to succeed in these games. Her insight on what makes a good player is highlighted by those whom she feels are other strong competitors. For example, Laurel is a dominant physical force on the challenge. However, as the viewers saw from her time on Fresh Meat 2, Cutthroat, and Rivals, Laurel inability to improve her social game finds her at odds with several cast members each season and still in search of her first win.
Evelyn appears critical of Johnny, Kenny, and Evan because of their game play, but at least they look out for each other. As Kenny stated during Fresh Meat 2, he wants to cross the line with his friends. Evelyn, on the other hand, has no problem throwing her alliances and team members under the bus. Fresh Meat 2 is a prime example of her selfish game play. She was more than willing to vote Landon, CJ, and their teammates into the Exile to keep herself safe. Good players should not be afraid to go into an elimination round. People sign up for these shows to compete and win money. One way to win money is to compete in an elimination round. And if you lose then be a good sport about it. Someone was better than you on that day.
Evelyn voices her disdain for competitors like Coral and Susie. Could it possibly be because their games excel in areas where her game lacks? Their ability to use both their brains and their social skills help them to advance in challenges and sometimes win the final challenge. Coral was correct in her commentary at the Gauntlet 3 Reunion, and Evelyn had difficulty defending herself against Coral at the reunion. Part of it may have been because Coral was on the attack, but part of it may have had to do with Evelyn knowing that her actions did not align with the strong competitor she claims to be.
She stated on her Formspring that Susie had to be carried throughout the final of the Ruins. That was true, but she was also a valuable asset to the team as well. A few notes on Susie's game throughout the Ruins. She was on a team a majority of women with whom she had strained relationships with in the past (Katie, Ibis, Tonya, and Veronica) and it had been quite some time since she was on a challenge (which may be disadvantageous to one's social game), but she still won the final, and eliminated three competitors in the process. Johnny even stated that Susie was the one who solved the puzzle, and Katie commented that Susie was the scariest girl out there because of her sharp tongue and her intelligence.
I'd believe all of the Evelyn hype if I felt she was a complete competitor. Evelyn should work on her social game and gain some humility. She is good but not great.
I think that Evelyn is just in her prime and I think that she is equal to Veronica when she was in her prime circa BOTS1/Gauntlet.
Veronica has proved time & time again that she's strong but nonethless compared to Rachel, Coral, Jodi & Tonya she's weaker.
right NOW, Evelyn is the best girl next to Laurel and maybe Emily, but mainly because they're all in their "season" just as V,C,J,R&T have had their season.
& Susie is a great competitor, not necessarily a fan but nonetheless she's a good competitor

First, welcome back to vevmo. It's been almost two years since you last commented here.
Evelyn does not credit anyone whose social skills require moral bankruptcy. If that is what makes Johnny a more complete player to you, then more power to you. In my opinion, she learned this lesson the hard way, during Gauntlet III, when, for a short time, she bought into the BS that Kenny and Evan were spouting. That ensured that she didn't listen to Beth's admonishment regarding the JEK gameplay.
While I regard Susie as a friend, her ability (especially as a PhD Theology student) to set aside fundamental moral principles and, in the moment. make the cruelest of recommendations, decisions and commentary (to wit: the "I Hate Tonya" game), has always astounded me. If for you, this is an ability that you find laudable, then, again, good for you.
Evelyn knows who JEK are. She knows what they have done. I'm not at all surprised at her fundamental disdain for them. I agree with her, and have come to wonder what to think of cast members who can look at them and set aside their reprehensible behaviors, electing to align with them.
Evelyn's challenge role, has, in my opinion, been an evolutionary one. Her decisions during, as a true rookie, would not be the ones she would make later. The things she gave to production as late as FM 2 were not what she would give to them during Rivals, after finally coming to grips with the duplicity of the editorial process with regard to her character. The result, of course, is that she became the least covered (in terms of camera time throughout the series) of any winner.
Of course, one might argue that all cast members take an evolutionary ride over the totality of their challenge experience. I don't deny that. As an observer of human behavior, however, I find that to me the complete player is the one who is able to overcome the moral morass these challenges offer the competitors and rise as a better person from the experience, and not necessarily as a challenge winner. If one wins all costs, including placing in peril one's soul, then I think I prefer a different path taken by the cast member I find laudable.
Plus, hasn't Landon admitted the editing on FM2 was skewed into making him the hero and Evelyn the villain? I could be wrong, but I thought I remember seeing that Landon admitted that the editing was totally off for that season.

I wouldn't use her as an example of strong female players. She fell apart on the Inferno 2, performed poorly on most of the missions of Battle of the Sexes 2, and went home really early on the Gauntlet. The only reason she didn't go home early on battle of the sexes, is because Ellen kept saving her because of her "team spirit".
I think the best female competitors are Jodi, Veronica, Rachel, Ellen, Ruthie, Emily Bailey, Kellyanne, and Holly Shand. I guess I'd have to say that Evelyn should be somewhere on the list of best females, but I think that if it was up to Evelyn to decide, Evelyn would say she is the greatest competitor not only for the females, but the males as well... I just think that from a viewers point of view, her ego has gotten way too big ever since Fresh Meat 2.

Evelyn is actually pretty good at giving other players credit (when it's due). Not very many players are actually really well-rounded players - but she does recognize the ones who are (she even says Johnny and Kenny are two of the best players in the game....even if she disagrees with what they do).

I actually don't think Johnny and Kenny are that good.
I think that Evan, CT, Miz, Theo, Brad, Darrell, Abram, Alton, Tyler, Mark, Landon and Derrick are better than them.
They're okay though. Probably top 20 for men.

All of those guys you named above, with the exception of Evan, have zero social/strategical game.

You don't need a social/strategical game if you just beat everyone in everything. Darrell has 4 challenge wins. Landon has 3 challenge wins with only 4 appearances. Tyler has won back to back challenges. Alton made it to the Final on all 3 of his challenges and went 5-0 in elimination rounds.

Are you sure? I'm sure Miz, Darrell, CT and Brad do/have.
Mark, Abram and Theo have had their moments where they have been tested strategically.
Alton and Landon are more go with the flow; my strength will get me through.
