When Laurel was crying did Dunbar look at her and say "Holla", or was that just editing? Lavin on a bike, it would have been funnier if he was on a golf cart. Not finished watching it yet but BEST FINALE EVER.
Good thing Ev or Kenny aren't on this. They would freaking out if they were on the grey team. LOL.
When Laurel was crying did Dunbar look at her and say "Holla", or was that just editing?
He did say "Holla!" but it seemed to be more of a "oh hey other team! nice to see you made it to this check point" and not making fun of her crying, which I don't think he realized until she snapped at him to "shut the eff up".
I'm confused why there wasn't any penalty for dropping a player. Was it because Red was so far ahead? I think the auto-lose thing with Easy from G3 was nonsense but having no penalty is too far the other way.
Thanks tots.
Tori and Brad made this challenge insufferable but they did work great as a team and I wasn't as annoyed with them in the finale. Actually, I wasn't annoyed with anyone, really. I felt sorry for the grey team and blue team. And CM needs to shut the hell up, her running her mouth about Sarah's athleticism while shes being carried on a stretcher.
Thank god for that win and now I never have to see Brad or Tori again. Was anyone else annoyed that Derrick still wants to come back? WTF?
Nice to see a challenge where Johnny, Kenny, Evan, or Derrick weren't the winners. I'll admit it.
I wonder if the new rule of letting teams continue if they drop a teammate will encourage them to deliberately set a pace the weaker members can't handle in future challenges, to cut them out of the final prize money.
I don't mind Derrick coming back, just let him sit out one challenge first. He's only 27 years old, that's not too bad for a Road Ruler.
This episode really brought the lulz.
Lulz at Paula losing... AGAIN.
Lulz at Jenn and Emily being so far behind. I love Emily to death, but I was dying when they were lifting up the stretcher and were like, "Wow this is heavy."
Jenn: "I'm Tori and I won the final because my husband carried me!" Lulz
I'm very glad that Brad finally won. Not because I like him, but because now maybe he'll STOP DOING CHALLENGES.
Could've gone for more footage of Jenn's big gajumbas bouncing around in a sports bra & less footage of people puking their brains out.
Oh yeah, for sure !! Couldn't agree more .

I don't think there's any "new rule" because the Vets still got to continue on the Gauntlet 3, they just couldn't win. I'm sure if the grey team had somehow caught up to red, they would've been denied the victory as well.

I don't think so. In G3 in was clearly stated that EACH CASTMEMBER must cross the finish line. If one doesn't the entire team is penalized.
Look at the first Gauntlet, if the Real World team would have continued without Coral, they would have won.
I guess it depends on what is in the fine print of the rules of the final challenge.
The final may have been grueling but it didn't really******* away as creative/innovative. I was rooting for the gray team to win but at least the got some money.

Same here. I was hoping that somehow without Abe and Sarah that the 3 of them pulled together and got the win.
abram has always been one of my favorite competitors and im glad he finally got to show the beast he was on cut throat. I honestly thought that he was the best competitor there and if they had done a redraft, a majority of the players would have picked him first. Its tough that he decided he eat just a cup of coffee as his meal before the final.
Anyway, is anyone kinda of shocked at Laurel during not only the show, but also the reunion? She acts like she's this god of challenges calling out abram when she hasn't even won one yet. He's the reason they won 100,000 dollars, not Laurel.
I thought this was a really good finale, I loved TJ riding his bike alonside everyone for the majority of it. I actually really like Tyler after this season. Emily and Jenn seemed to work really well together and neither of them looked like they were getting frustrated even when they knew they weren't going to win it. I'm so happy that Brad finally won, but I'm sad he's probably done with challenges. I loved montage at the end with clips of all his past challenges.
Oh and if anyone knows the name of the song they were playing at the end, feel free to let me know because it's been driving me nuts.

No you have that wrong. The rules on the first Gauntlet said that a player can drop out but that would add 10 minutes onto your time. Coral got sick because of the spider and they added 10 minutes onto their time. Gauntlet 3 it was talked about the WHOLE challenge that Eric was going to fail, so of course they added that rule.
Some final thoughts on Cutthroat:
Brad: nice to finally see him get one. I know he's not the greatest competitor ever, but he's had some bad luck along the way. I don't really blame him for the game he played this time around, he did what he had to do to win, knowing it would probably be his final Challenge. I'll miss the lunk on these shows, he was one of my favorites.
Tyler: exceeded everyone's expectations, and seemed like he grew up a lot since we last saw him. Less cattiness and immaturity this time around. He was one of the top guys on this Challenge and if he comes back, should be a tough out. He really stepped up his game this time
Abram: so tough to see him be the leader the whole time and then get sick like that. However, it does not change my opinion of him one bit. Hell of a competitor and like Bananas said, his body of work speaks for itself. Unfortunately, after reading a lot of the comments on his Formspring, I get the feeling that he won't be coming back. Made a lot of comments about not having a lot of fun there.
Derrick: hate seeing him have to leave right before the final. Still a legend either way. Huge bonus points for the podcasts he did, they were pretty interesting to listen to.
Paula: I was tired of her a few Challenges ago. Now I'm flat out sick of her. I totally called that final episode. I knew she'd lose in the Gulag then spend the entire reunion crying. I wish I could bet on **** like that. She needs to stop blaming everyone else for not winning. It's her. She's her own worst enemy. A mental weakling who I hope will take a break. Her playing the victim has gotten completely stale and nobody's falling for it anymore.
Sarah: you'd think she'd be a little humbled after FM2. Nope. Terrible attitude throughout.
Jenn: while I admire her trying her *** off in the final, I could go without seeing her for awhile too. Those manic episodes of hers are annoying. She needs to learn that just because you talk the loudest and the fastest in an argument doesn't mean you're right.
Emily: she just radiates, doesn't she? Great attitude for a rookie, and I'd love to see her back. I don't know what it is about her, but she's got this hotness to her that I can't explain.
Laurel: seriously, who pissed in your cereal?
Better overall Challenge than FM2...so what's next? I'm guessing a bit more downtime to let TJ get better before anything starts getting underway. Duel 3 anyone?
Thoughts on the finale: Derrick is a machine and if he does stop doing challenges eventually, they should at least give the guy a jersey retirement ceremony or something. He fought his *** off throughout, played the cleanest game of anyone there and I'd have liked to see him in the final. I really think blue would have had a chance with Derrick there. Blue, though, won MVP Team, in my eyes. They kept going, didn't give up and Emily, unlike the others shown being sent to the hospital, puked and kept on going without breaking. Jenn & Emily get mucho respect points. I'd have loved to see them pull it out at the end and shock everyone by running past red at the last second.
Abram got slammed! Heat exhaustion really sucks and it does a serious number on you. Growing up in FL, let me tell you, it ******* sucks when it hits you and there was nothing he could have done. If he'd have kept on, as hard as it hit him, he'd have just ran till he topped over unconscious. However, it was stated later that he hadn't eaten anything for breakfast before they left, which is a dumb *** thing to do. He's not a rookie. He's done final challenges before, so what was he thinking? Was he arrogant and thought he'd breeze through it? I think Sarah may have psyched herself out a bit, then that, mixed with nerves and the heat was what did her in. I'm damn proud of Cara Maria, Luke and Laurel for continuing on and doing really well. From the edit, it doesn't look like red was that far ahead of them and since they had to stop to have two people ambulanced away, I'd say grey would have won easily. Not a big fan of seeing girls cry and I felt for Laurel. She held it together, gave it her all and nobody can fault her for that. Without her on the grey team, I don't think they'd have finished, if it'd been just Luke, Cara Maria, Abram and Sarah.
Red. Eh. Tyler did a fantastic job on this challenge and would have rather seen him do it alone without Dunbar, Tori and Brad. The more I see Dunbar on-camera, the less likable he becomes. Since Tori and Brad won one and have said they aren't coming back for future challenges, that's at least a positive out of red winning.
It's easy to judge people when they're on tv and we're not in their places, but I'd say everyone who crossed the finish line did a hell of a job. The final was hard, pushed them and hopefully they'll learn something from it.

I think I remember someone stating somewhere that Laurel and Paula were the drunkest at the reunion, so I'd chalk her keeping the censors busy with the F bombs to being alcohol-related. No excuse, but if you watch the confessionals where she's sober, there's a big difference in her attitude toward the show and other cast members. She actually acts like an athlete or many of the ones I've been around. He isn't the reason grey took $100,000 home. They all are. Not just one guy.

I have friends who ran cross-country in school and some of them preferred not to eat right before a race. Sometimes it would make them more nauseous so they just ate a larger dinner the night before to get the carbs and stuff they needed. He's probably the same way.

Grey was a lot further behind than shown. Luke forgot his puzzle pieces and they had to go back to the original puzzle thing to remember it.

I think a good chunk of the Road Rulers are in their late twenties. Susie had either just turned 30 or was about to be 30 on the Ruins. I think all Roadies from Season 11, 12, 13, and 14 are under 30, with the exception of maybe Kendal, Darrell, Angela, and Cara
I have friends who ran cross-country in school and some of them preferred not to eat right before a race. Sometimes it would make them more nauseous so they just ate a larger dinner the night before to get the carbs and stuff they needed. He's probably the same way.
Really? We were always taught to eat a solid breakfast, of like oatmeal and lots of toast before going out. I just can't imagine anyone thinking that they could do damn near 13 miles on an empty stomach with only caffeine in them. Plus, it was an 8 hour final.
Grey was a lot further behind than shown. Luke forgot his puzzle pieces and they had to go back to the original puzzle thing to remember it.
In the edit, it looked like when red was cheering, Laurel and Luke reacted as if they'd heard it and realized they were close to the finish, but red had just gotten there ahead of them. GREAT EDITING, MTV! /endsarcasm
In that case, then getting rid of Luke would have been a good idea.
I have learned to multi-quote. Watch out, world!
Are Laurel and Emily still dating? That wasn't brought up at the reunion?
I think one of them said on Derrick's Podcast that they never were dating. I'm not positive though.
I kind of hope they're not together so that I can be with Emily. I'm seriously in love with her. <3

Besides forgetting the puzzle, I think Luke did very well compared to what people expecting from him. He's a small guy.
It was great to see how excited Brad was to finally win! No matter what any one says, he deserved that win! I also love Tori, so I was thrilled to see her win again! :D
