Mandi is underrated. Our of the 4 challenges she has been in I believe she has only been eliminated by her own hands once. On Fresh Meat II Wes broke down. On Rivals, her partner couldn't keep pace, and on Exes Wes got swept. She is a tough opponent who will give you a fight.
It seems to me that Wes' athletic ability has strangely declined. He has to be what, 26, 27....28 max? He should be coming into his physical prime right now. Somewhere over the last couple of years his stamina has taken a hit. My theory is that he has focuses a lot on strength and muscle but he has neglected his cardio or endurance. On Fresh Meat II he gassed. In Rivals he did get hurt but he also gassed out quite considerably according to Kenny (who will not hesitate to talk about how terrible Wes was in that final).
Leroy said that that elimination was all about endurance. He knew he could win becasue he put a lot of work into his cardio and Wes kept getting tired. Wes' cardio has failed him 3 times in a row now. If he wants to keep doing these and get back to old form maybe he should consider shaving some muscle and aiming for durability.
Leroy is much higher on the athletic totem pole for the males than Naomi is for the females. I wonder how Mandi would have done had she gone up against a female equivalent of Leroy? Mandi did extremely well but she had a lot less to carry going up against Naomi than Wes did against Leroy.
Apparently Wes didn't take note of his first 2 losses going into the sudden-death. Strength and endurance didn't actually matter much; gaining leverage equals GG. The winner was always the one who managed to pull the bar around to their chest because your strength is greatest near your core. His flippy thing didn't help him at all. Hope he takes note and comes back better next time, because I enjoy watching him try to stick it to "the man".
A huge week for Jacoby!!
Vinny (The Challenge, Jacoby) 110 points: The Challenge got weird this week. Real weird. Vinny Who I Have Never Seen In The Same Room At The Same Time As Chaz Bono joined the rest of the cast on an evening at the discoteca. That alone is neither remarkable nor interesting. I mean, what do you do when you go to the nightclub? You have a few drinks, you might two-step your way around the floor a little bit, chat up a couple strangers, maybe get a phone number or whatever, and call it a night. That is not what Vinny does. Vinny has a bajillion drinks (10 points), takes his shirt off, and sexually assaults his friends. That happened.
Mandi, a young lass with a history with both CT and Wes, was just minding her own business bopping around on the dance floor when an inslopsicated Vinny came up behind her and removed her top. What in the world would possess him to do such a thing? It is not okay to take other people’s clothes off unless you are a Harlem Globetrotter and the other person is a referee. Under those circumstances it is hilarious — under these circumstances it is childish, disrespectful, and damn-near criminal. If Vinny were older, he would have learned from David from Real World [strike]San Francisco[/strike] Los Angeles that the Bunim/Murray Producers frown on such behavior. The release of Mandi’s breasts into the Dominican air marked the end of Vinny’s time on the show (100 points) and, more important, the end of the Chaz Bono joke for the column. Rest in peace, “Vinny looks like Chaz Bono” joke, you will be missed.
Sarah (The Challenge, Jacoby), 105 points: I have it on good authority (read: I totally made up) that this was the conversation about what to do with Sarah between The Challenge producers after they decided to kick Vinny off the show:
Producer 1: “Okay, now that Vinny is gone, we don’t have a partner for Sarah. What should we do?”
Producer 2: “I don’t think she's hooked up with anyone else on the show, so there is no replacement ex.”
Producer 1: “Call Jenn With Two Ns, she has hooked up with everyone that has ever been on or worked on this show in the past decade.”
Producer 2: “I did, she was slurring and mentioned something about being tied up at OTAs for the Lingerie Football League.”
Producer 1: “Okay, well, should we just kick Sarah off the show then?”
Producer 2: “I’m not sure, you know how much this means to her.”
Producer 1: “I know. She is going to lose her freaking mind. Who is going to tell her?”
Producer 2: [puts finger on nose]
Producer 1: “Fine, I'll do it. But only if you drop me into her bedroom in one of those shark cages. It's the only way to guarantee my safety.”
Producer 2: “She can still stab you through the holes in the cage.”
Producer 1: “Good point. Do we have a suit of armor?”
Producer 2: “Yeah. The one we used for interviews with CT before he turned soft.”
Producer 1: “What about a cattle prod?”
Producer 2: “CT ate the cattle prod on Rivals.”
Producer 1: [thinks for a minute]
Producer 1: “Can’t we just have TJ tell her? Everyone likes TJ; he is the peanut butter and jelly of TV hosts.”
Producer 2: “Good call.”
Once TJ broke the news that she was off the show (100 points), Sarah went completely crazypants and started crying (5 points). She was so devastated that I legitimately felt bad for her — for, like, four seconds before laughing my *** off.
Jasmine (The Challenge, House), 35 points: Jasmine from The Challenge is a Tom Brady: A late-round pick who has a chip on her shoulder, one she uses as motivation week after week. This week an intoxicated Jasmine verbally and physically attacked her partner, Tyrie (5 + 5 + 25 = 35 points). For those scoring at home, Jasmine has now attacked both an animate and an inanimate object in the first two shows of the season. She is the most destructive 30-pound object in human form since Chuckie. Matter of fact, if next season is The Challenge: Twins I am putting big money on Jasmine and Chucky beating Vinny and Chaz Bono in the finals. (C’mon, did you really think the Chaz Bono joke was dead?)
Mandi (The Challenge, Connor), 30 points: Mandi being de-topped by Chaz Bono (5 points) at the club and her subsequent physical attack of Chaz (25 points) was so troubling that I don’t feel comfortable joking about it.
Tyrie (The Challenge, House), 25 points: Tyrie got in a verbal argument with Jasmine (5 points) that he finished by pulling down his pants to reveal his derriere (20 points) and declaring, “You can kiss my black ***!” Sadly, like suspenders, faux-hawks, and do-rags, the “kiss my [enter ethnicity here] ***” move is something white people just can’t pull off.
Leroy and Naomi (The Challenge, Jacoby), 10 Points: Leroy and Naomi won the stupid “Dome” challenge and got 10 GRTFL points. Producers, are you really out of ideas? I just deleted a list of five better challenges I wrote because I want to save them for when I am inevitably hired to run Bunim/Murray Productions. Seriously, get at me — there is no one that cares more about The Challenge than I do ... except for Sarah.
Just surprised that anyone thought Wes v Leroy had anything to do with heart / strategy / gas in the tank.
It's a huge mismatch, similar to Derrick vs. Wes or Derrick vs. Tyler..
I kinda hate these kind of eliminations, it has not much to do with skill, determination, or drive... more to do with if you were born above 220 pounds etc.
[And to the guy talking about Wes having a bad strategy doing a flip or whatever, it's not like he can just pull leroy who has 20-30 lbs on him towards him and go turtle style for leverage (why not you ask?) BECAUSE leroy isn't stupid and he's doing the SAME THING just with bigger tri's and bi's.]
Not taking anything away from Leroy here, he's definitely driven on top of being strong, but if any of you watch boxing or any kind of sports, you'd recognize these constant mismatched face-offs... they are over before they start.

How about Brad vs Eric pole wrestling? Brandon vs Ty, wasn't that about gas in the tank?
I think gas was definitely a factor. And if Wes was in there with Ty, or possibly even normal Tyrie, I think he would have won. Tyrie was supposedly a DI football player and Davis is also supposed to be pretty strong and Wes and Kenny worked them in a shoving elimination.
Size is certainlya factor but leverage, wrestinling, and strategy all play their parts. Derrick has beaten a number of people bigger than him at physical contest. I don't think it was a forgone conclusion that Wes was doomed, he's a fighter and we didn't really know what Leroy was made of mentally in those situations.
Does anyone know if there's a link up somewhere..this is so annoying.
It keeps on redirecting me to mtv.nl but the dutch website unfortunately does not show any of the challenges or other shows really. Pretty useless.

If it's not on MTV's website, I don't know what to tell you. We don't advertise illegal websites.

You could use a proxy IP located in the US to watch it on mtv.com
Is it me or is this season a bit amateur-ish? Even the beginning of the episodes, they don't sound like a challenge, it looks more like the interlude to some kind of teen drama show.
I can't believe Johnny/Camila lost to Vinny/Sarah, I was surprised as hell. Wes continues to be the go-to guy for voting into the elimination... in this circumstance? Really? I have a question!
Was the order of events the way they depicted it? Challenge > club > Vinny pulls top off > next day > Sarah/Vinny vote Wes/Mandi > Vinny/Sarah go home.
I thought this was stupid, because I always assumed the producers asked the person that got hit/punched/offended/whatever if they felt threatened and wanted to send the offender home. But I think I might be wrong about that? Because why would you send that person into elimination if they still had the decision to make.
Anyway, whats done is done. I really felt like Wes wasn't going to put himself in the same position in that final round, the same position that Mandi put Naomi in, and Leroy put him in the first 2 rounds. Leroy has a lot of strength, but with that little X bar, putting someone on your back was the better position. Being able to push on the X with arm/chest strength while keeping your opponent behind you was just the best case scenario.
Props to Leroy, the dude is a beast, but I fear is going to meet a similar end that he met in rivals.

Johnny and Camila lost on purpose to Sarah and Vinny. They didn't want to be in the power couple position twice and look like a target. Johnny said it, Cara Maria confirmed it, apparently a few people knew that that was going on.
And to your question it is the right order. Wes talks about the incident in the deliberation. Vinny said on Derrick's podcast that immediately after they asked Mandi if she was ok and she said yes it wasn't that big of a deal. But, they told Vinny that it wasn't in their hands and then had to speak to their legal team as to what to do with him and then once that decision was made I'd guess they had to figure out what to do with Sarah. Vinny said they told him that they didn't want to send him home since he apologized to Mandi at the club and she said that she didn't want him to get sent home, but the lawyers wanted something different.

If you rewatch the episode, you can see that Johnny/Camila weren't really trying. It's actually completely obvious.

Those 2 should be a target anyhow being that John has won several of these things....but then again he's friends with pretty much all of the cast so that's probably not going to happen.
Wes also talked about the CT/girls fight, aparently they all thought CT was going to get kicked off for sure and Vinny was maybe going to get kicked off. The interview is so disturbing though, the host is in love with him and they were flirting and they were like having phone sex omg.

You can just scroll it to when he was on. He didnt get to say much though, he started ranting and dissing JEK then got cut off lmao. Sucks I listned to like 10 mins of creepy flirting and it got cut off just as it was getting good lol.

I'll just wait it out, there's only about 20 minutes left anyway.
ROFL I got to hear this! Sounds entertainingly unprofessional!
Yeah he was like when was the last time those little legs were in the air? Do you like being thrown around and having your throat squezed? Omg I felt so awkward listning to that, he mainly just flirted with the girl and she's was calling him her future baby's daddy, shes not too professional, didnt even try to tone down her groupieness. lmao they should seriosly meet up though, this chick is Wes' dream girl, she loves him almost as much as he loves himself! haha
Listening to it now and this is hilarious....
Wes: "Hottest guy in the country? Blake Griffin. Oh yea... he's a Black guy with red hair. That's what we are looking for, that's what I'm trying to create"
Host: "Well, you could do that with me."
This is gold!
Lol I liked it when he was talking about the photographer when he was complaining about his abs, he's like "Ive got a problem with that photographer, that was like the 3rd abe shot he screwed up and I go up to him and I'm like dude you've messed up a lot and he thinks I'm joking, and my abs keep getting worse and worse so I think he's literally screwing with me, so I go up to him and I'm like listen I'm not even half as tan as the 2nd palest person here so you have to change your photography strategy with me if you want me to look the way I'm supposed to and he doesnt"
Haha Wes does look better in video than in the pics, most of the time he looks constipated in his challenge pics (duel/ruins) and he looks like he has a gut in the botexes pic where he posing from the front, lol I bet you was pleased when he saw that. I swear I dont think the photographer cares he makes some of them look so weird in their pics, even on this one everyone is squinting. But I dont think he needs to worry about his whiteness not showing through in his pics, he still looks pale enough in them.
I'll admit, I though the pics were particularity off this year. A lot of people looked a lot older to me. Sarah really threw me off because I have always thought she was a very cute woman but she looked really off in her picture to me. I thought it was the blond hair but on the show she looks fine.
