Aaaron was cute but still rather Blah.
Casey sucked. He sounded terrible and looked uncomfortable. He's going home.
Crystal looked beautiful. She did great as usual. Its getting to be very expected though.
Mike did well. He did as well as he always does.
Lee knocked my socks off. He's amazing. I really hope he wins this season. He was magnetic tonight.
I downloaded Lee's pre idol albums and have been listening to them non stop they are phenomenal
yeah i downloaded his pre-idol albums too, they are really good. I dont think there is any question that he should win this season.
Well I do think Casey will have a good career outside fo idol he'll be out this or next week, no doubting that Crystal is phenomenal too. Right nowit's a toss up between the two. If he wins he better not put out a 3rd rate pop album like many winners before him I hope he sticks to what he's done. The song Predicament in youtube is really good.
I am just so disenchanted with this season, usually by now I have a clear favorite! I am not sure the performances this season have even touched performanes from other seasons. Kris Allen's Heartless, was amazing, Bo Bice doing a whole song accapella, Fantasia's Summertime, hell even Taylor Hick's In the Ghetto.
It just doesn't seem like we have had a wow moment, I liked Crystal's Bobby Mcgee, and Midnight train to Georgia. Lee has been great for the last 3 weeks with The Boxer, You're Still the One, and last night's performance. But still nothing that has stood out as amazing in my eyes.
Heck Casey has had some good ones too,but if he does not stop gurgling his voice, he will end up as an SNL parody.
Still holding out hope that Michael goes tonight. Dude can sing but he is way too smug. It's like he stole Crystal's cockiness from the beginning of the competition and added it to his own.
HCJr was terrific and exceeded my expectations in every way... the bar has been set from now on for guest judges... no more lounging at the pool!

I completely agree LilysMom! This season has been boring for me, but since I am a huge Idol fan I still watch :). I am still waiting for a performance to******* away. The contestants are just ok this season.
I believe that Casey will go home tonight, and if not Casey, Aaron.
Last night was pretty boring for me. I have never really been able to get into these weeks of the competition. Mike probably technically sounded the best but I just can't stand him - I'd love to see him go home again tonight.
I haven't watched the showed in years, kind of gave up on it, lol. But I been watching this season a little bit, thought Aaron would've stuck around longer.
Yeah I think it is kind of a toss up of who should go when between Casey, Aaron and Big Mike. I consider them to be on pretty much the same level, maybe with different strengths and weaknesses but still about the same basic level.
Lee and Crystal should definitely be Top 2 and after that it is really down to musical taste and preference.
After this week, i really think Harry Connick jr should be considered as a judge on the show and take simon's place!!!!
I agree. He's great. I just love his accent.
Bye bye Aaron. I can't say I'm sad. Although Casey going over him would have been preferred.
We still agree on everything I see!!! Missed you!
We still agree on everything I see!!! Missed you!
Haha. Missed you too!
Well to be honest Aaron was boring...he is probably all into purity, and that boring nonsense and he didn't stick out so yeahhh! :)
I am happy with Aaron leaving, a little sad for him of course, but I thought his time had come even though he was improving as the show went on. I really wish he would have sang country every week, not a fan, but he always did it well.
I still like Casey, even though he always sounds like a goat/lamb. Jealous Guy was one of my favorite performances of the season, I just feel like lately he is kind of giving up.
Maybe instead of having Stones/Beatles/Elvis/Sinatra theme weeks and bagging them for not making them modern, they should let the contestants sing to their own strengths every week. Would make for a more interesting show I think, knowing that you were going to hear a variety.

I agree. I dont mind the theme weeks on occasion.. especially at the beginning.. but it seems to be getting out of hand.
Is it just me or did they not do that so much in the first few seasons?
FYI: Since Idol continues to under perform in the ratings (by Idol standards that is) they may have finally realized they are doing things wrong. They've put out a poll that you can take letting them know what you think about some changes and what you like/don't like in Idol.
I think this past Tuesday they got the worst numbers since season 1! I sure won't be sticking around once Simon is gone unless they make some major changes, like consistently ending on time for starters!
It' a little long but hopefully they take some suggestions to heart.
I did it just so I could let them know how much I hate having 4 judges and how insufferable Ryan has gotten these past few seasons. :D
They used to be able to fit 2 performances by each contestant in an hour once they got down to final 5. Now they have to rush to fit 5 short performances in 45min. Ridiculous.
Here's the link to the poll: Take the American Idol Survey - American Idol
Enjoy!
Thanks for the link Taters. (May I call you Taters? lol) I'll be taking it for sure! I don't like the 4 judges either! There's too much talking. The judges never give good advice either. It's so all over the place this season. One minute they are saying.. "you aren't making it your own".. the next they are saying.. "you should mess with the original". I'm suprised the contestants know which way is up!
You can call me whatever you want! haha
The 4 judges really is the worst decision they ever made. It's made even worse by the way Ryan is used. On shows like SYTYCD or DWTS the hosts are standing with the contestants through judging and rushing the comments along making sure they don't take up too much time.
Sometimes in SYTYCD they will even skip judges and only get critiques from 2 of the 3 to save time since judging tends to be repetitive and there is no point to hearing "I agree with so and so" every time.
Instead on Idol, they leave the contestants up there to stand awkwardly and not say anything letting the judges go on and on about nothing and giving contradicting advice. Then Ryan finally comes in and goes back to the judges again to question them about what they just said! It's horrible and takes way too long. Maybe if Ryan was up there he could stop the crowd from booing and cutting of judges, keep the critiques moving and pose the questions about their comments all at once.
But maybe that is too much work for him to actually think on his feet and keep the show moving. Maybe he would rather distract the performers by dancing in the isles with the audience right in front of them while they sing! Ugh, that was a real low point in the show for me. How could he be so disrespectful?
Oh and THANK YOU Harry Connick Jr. for finally putting the judges on blast for using "pitchy" instead of sharp or flat. Maybe if your critiques actually made sense and let the contestants know what they did wrong and where in the song it happened they would be able to improve.
I couldn't agree with you more Taters.. really. The show about singing turned into a show about over paid judges getting enough air time. Personally, I like Ryan Seacrest.. but I'd still rather see more of the contestants.
I took the quiz. I told them that I want more contestants.. less judges. I said I dislike Cara and I wouldn't miss Randy. I said Paula shouldn't come back.... and they should drop everyone by Ryan and Ellen. :) Also, I don't like the mentors.. HCJ was great.. but he's the only one. lol
Oh, and I hate the themes.
Also, I don't like the mentors.. HCJ was great.. but he's the only one. lolOh, and I hate the themes.
I like the idea of mentors, as I personally think they really help the contestants understand a lot more of the music business. This depends though on who the mentor is, and what part of the music business they are in. I liked that they brought in Adam for one reason, he was a past contestant, and he knows exactly what they are gong through now, and what wil happen when their stint on AI is over. I do wish though, that it would have been Kelly or Carrie who came back.
HCJ was the best mentor they have had on this show, he brought out so much more in each one of them I say they give HCJ, Simon's place next season, he would be a great judge, and he could help them at the same time.

I could not agree more, they need to get on the same page. They were so confusing to me! Let alone the contestants, yes it is just their opinions, but this is what they are taking to heart and trying to change to be better.
I hate themes too. For one they use the same ones alot. And it drives me crazy when the judges complain that the contestants dont pick the right songs to show what type of artist they are. Plus they say contestants need to sound more current yet they make them sing Elvis and Sinatra. Let them sing whatever they want so they can show what type of artists they want to be. I wish they would allow them to do original songs but thats not going to happen.

Exactly! This show has turned into such a cluster ****. It's ridiculous.
I like the pairs. The winners.... Crystal and Lee.. are good together...
I am curious to know what song they will be singing, it should be good.
As soon as I find the song spoilers, I will put them up.
