KVM I actually agree with you. I liked the idea of the purges. They did it right on Vendettas the first episode then they lost the plot. If it's not a straight up race purge with multiple obstacles it's easy for production to rig.

The last purge was in WOTW2 right? It seems like they stopped doing them anyways. They probably realized that it's cheaper to just start with fewer cast members than have too many which requires a purge lol. It also seems inevitable that 2+ people will DQ/quit every season which would take away the need for a purge lol
We're entering Week 3 of 6 of filming and 18 or 19 of the 25 contestants are still there. That's pretty astounding that we're currently at an average of 3 contestants leaving per week, which I think will have to pick up this week or next week to 4 contestants a week gone. I would estimate right now that we're looking at a 13 episode season, barring any more DQ's or quits.
Week 4 (Eps 8 and 9): 16th, 15th, 14th, 13th (Guy and Girl 8th and 7th placers) out.
Week 5 (Eps 10 and 11): 12th, 11th, 10th, 9th (Guy and Girl 6th and 5th placers) out.
Week 6 (Eps 12 and 13): 8 person - 2 or 3 day final plus confessionals and flight home.
I might be alone but I think things have been going fast. 2 weeks done. 10 men/women left....just need to get rid of 6 more over 3.5 weeks before the final.
Why would Janelle quit and they wouldn't replace her with Genesis but still have a female elimination but then the next episode replace Tony with Syrus?
Ayanna got into multiple heated arguments with Janelle, Kam, Leroy and Brandon. I was told these were intense and involved race, politics, and mental health. (Wouldn’t expect this to be shown, I’ve been told it will not be.)
This is what caused Janelle to leave the game on her own accord.

To my understanding they were never planning to used the alternates but decide to used Syrus for whatever reason
