wes definitely went through a flop phase when he was losing to Bear and such in physical elims lol but he (likely, though he won't admit it) took roids and got in shape again so seeing him leave early with a bunch of allies around him is somewhat surprising. but also this men's side competition wise is crazy so nobody leaving is surprising to be honest

Besides Johnny and Jordan there weren't many allies on this season for Wes. Yes obviously doesn't like him, Darrell doesn't trust him, Theo hasn't cared too much for Wes on both seasons they've done together.
Same on the female side. Jonna/Kellyanne/Jodi wouldn't die to protect him, Amber doesn't really know him, and Kaycee/Tori have never aligned with him before so the pieces were not in place for Wes this season and I thank MTV for that.
