they made it so convuluted to avoid a ruins situation again.i do think the challengers on invasion were a better team than the challengers on the ruins actually BY FAR. tho the only champ that i couldve seen get eliminated was ashley k if it was champs vs challengers.
i get why they did what they did but it still was a mess and is a big issue with the season.

I mean the first few seasons(Fresh Meat, The Duel, Inferno 3) were okay/passable but from Gauntlet 3 to Exes 1 (Excluding Cutthroat which was an alright season in retrospect) were just plain SHIT! The castmembers/regulars of that era sucked and that alone was enough to sink the show that period.

I don't think they ever got past this era sadly tbh because ever since then they've settled for mediocre casting and lame whack *** formats. I stopped watching during the Ruins and skipped FM2 & CutThroat till I began watching again when Rivals premiered cuz of how bad this era was.
They haven't had consistent good seasons since golden era.

Like Pink said, The Ruins is toxic af but it delivered from start to end even with lopsided teams. I rewatched sometime in 2021 and it amazed me how into it I was even tho I knew how bad that season was behind the scenes. The episodes Tonya was still there were a lot, but they delivered.
I loved The Ruins. It had such good drama. Tonya's situation kind of kills that for me so I won't rewatch it. I enjoyed Seasons 2 a lot, but every time I watch I get sad knowing we should have had Kellyanne and Ashli over Camilla and Cara. I can't even imagine the potential with a Sydney over Fresh Meat team. The last great season to me was Rivals 2. It did after that. Marie made the Trilogy decent for me and WOTW2 was a good season but Rivals 2 was the last top notch season.

I know I'm in the minority here and understandably so. The Duel 2 got a little boring because aside for Kimberly's win the eliminations were predictable. Aneesa beating Tori as well. I love the strategic game of The Ruins and Ibis getting screwed. Wes vs Kenny was interesting even if I hate both.

I'd rank Final Reckoning & War of the Worlds pretty high up tho. I love both of those modern seasons for some reason.
