This is true when comparing the numbers from a couple years back but not when comparing to the season before. When numbers drop that much in a matter of a few months, it's because your product sucks.
cant copy & paste, slap a new label on it, and expect fans to go crazy for the same exact product
Way less people watch TV live these days. This season would have been a hit numbers wise had it played on Netflix.
Double agents (the season before this one...) ratings hit 900 k to close to a million a couple times. Stop using this bullshit excuse that people dont watch live tv. This is a terrible season with a terrible cast and the ratings reflect that.
It's not just one factor that has lead to a decline in numbers. Way more people prefer streaming, Double Agents wasn't competing against Big Brother and then Survior every Wednesday night. SLA is still one of the highest rated cable shows of the evening every week. It's an irrefutable fact this season would have blown up on Netflix due to it being a more popular platform.
Double Agents had an overall lackluster cast but it helped that the season aired when most people were still staying indoors. This cast isn't even that bad. People just won't be invested in randoms. Kelz, Devin, Tori, Michaela, Emy, Esther, Berna, Amanda, Nelson, Amber, Gabo, Josh, Corey Lay, Cory, Fessy, Ashley all killed it this season. So it's a mixture of everything.

the challenge has been competing with survivor/big brother for yearssss and ratings never dropped this low to where over 80 percent of this season has been apart of the lowest watched episode ever. It's just a bad season with a bad cast.
Oh yeah that's weird, anyone who wanted to watch it already has (even me in Canada where P+ doesn't have All Stars), and there was no advertisement for it, of course it didn't do well

The challenge page and multiple cast members that love saying millions subscribers are subscribing to paramount + for them promoted it. Which would make you think that it would get atleast 200k-300k especially since it air right after the finale that got over 700k viewers. It's just tragic that it wasn't able to hold half of the viewership even if it had shitty promotion.
I do think that with the right promotion all stars can get 350k-500k on MTV, which is okay for current MTV live standards. But not the same as the normal seasons because spin-offs of the challenge has always had lower numbers than the regular season airing at that time.
I'll also say that I didnt like episode 1 of all stars 2 at all!! Intros from all these people that I dont really care about. Episode 2 + on was amazing
I can see people turning the channel bc it was all intros, no challenges or gameplay

Excuses engagement of it also shows there isn't this huge interest for it online after cast pics are released unlike what the old school cast love to claim.

how about for the first time since XXX they bring back all the legends fans have been clamoring for and see if the ratings change?
did all stars 1 not have a lot of interest either? Just objectively the cast for AS1 had a lot bigger names than AS2.
Reading all the "engagement" for cast phots for AS2, no one knew who anyone on the S2 cast was besides darrell and derrick
i agree on the engagement issue 100%. if casuals first reaction to S2 cast on IG was, "I dont know who any of these people are besides ____ and ___" of course they wont tune in. thats why im confused SLA had 0 All Stars on it besides Aneesa who i think was on the season?

They had the same issue with All Stars 1 and it also had lack of engagement. Once again your favorites doesn't impact ratings as much as you love to say.

Wow this season has been on so long I forgot kelz was apart of it... And he had Impact

Writing a whole essay to defend a failing show just to be wrong...lol
I'd be ok with this season lasting so mind-numbingly long if we still had Kelz & Ed to look at & enjoy.
This was the number one show on cable yesterday that wasn't cable related overall 3rd after the NBA. All stars number 84.

The challenge fanbase continues to deserve the mediocrity they've been served consistently from production.
Not Allstars serving 150k viewers LMAOOOOOOO. Big Brother brings the ratings!!!
Where does that number even come from? P+ doesn't share their viewership right? Still 150k isn't even a flop on that useless streaming service
Episode 1 aired right after the finale of spies so that's the number they got
They aired an episode already avaialble--not the best decision but regardless those ratings aren't great.
Oh yeah that's weird, anyone who wanted to watch it already has (even me in Canada where P+ doesn't have All Stars), and there was no advertisement for it, of course it didn't do well
oh that's really awful

Lmaooooo and y'all die hard old school fans swear people are dying to see the old school players

Why would any of us watch an episode we already saw?? Of course most real challenge fans didnt watch it.

I think champs vs stars had around 350k-400k so that's about right
Excuses engagement of it also shows there isn't this huge interest for it online after cast pics are released unlike what the old school cast love to claim.
Excuses excuses

725k isn't bad but the double agents finale got a million viewers... I guess people wanted to see more of amber *giggles*
Crazy as this may sound I think going up against Survivor may not have been a great idea after all.
