Even though ratings are low it's doing decent numbers compared to every show on mtv. I'm shocked looking up today that the jersey shore family vacation season finale barely cracked above the 400k mark .Crazy how times change
which it's why it's even more critical they don't **** up the main show with how they are casting. MTV is going to sink if people turn on the challenge sooner than later. no wonder they are taking a long break to reevaluate everything.

Thats not the reason why filming got moved to march over two months ago lol

oh lol
now i think it's because of CT's movie. very confusing
Yikes 450k for the reunion. Huge drop from the finale. But honestly the reunion wasnt needed when they already have the aftershows with devyn along with the challenge podcast. No show deserves to be on for 5 months long.

Cant believe this was on for 5 months. Should be 11-13 episodes tops and a reunion... and a **** They Should have shown episode.. those were fun back in the day.

I'd say 12 episodes max, plus Reunion or whatever special they want to add (I never watch Reunion and these specials, so don't really care). 12 episodes is three months, I think that's more than enough to have an awesome season. More than that is just too much, IMO.
I still think the viewership numbers are too high.
It is lol. I believe its the most watched show on mtv still which shows how much mtv has fallen off. That channel needs a serious revamp other than airing ridiculousness reruns 24/7

I have no clue what the ratings are like for any season of The Challenge in the US. Can someone fill me in, and how it compared to older seasons & all stars etc?
Yall can make all the excuses you want be the drop from DA to SLA wasn't minor. Cable consumption did not change that much in 3 months.
Definitely a big drop in such a short time. Double agents was getting 900,000 to close to a million consistently. This season was barely cracking over 600k most times. Probably the bad casting with so many unknowns. Lets hope they get it right next time.

And the boring PC editing and contestant removals, you can't edit out drama and still try to do 90 minute episodes for 6 months. People get fatigued and have no desire to tune back in for trash vets and a bunch of random rookies who people have zero connection to it.

Golden Age seasons like the Inferno were regularly over one million viewers.

With no streaming services and when everyone had cable
Bloodlines Episode 1: 550k ratings, 88th highest rated show on cable.
SLA Episode 4: 499k ratings, 4th highest rated show on cable.
Times have changed, streaming is a more popular option. SLA also didn't have the luxury, like most seasons do, of not having to air in the same timeslot as Big Brother and Survivor.

how were the ratings?
Special and reunion ratings don't matter to them those two always take a hit

they certainly did take a hit

*goggles*
Challenge stats on Instagram says spies lies and allies is officially the lowest watched season ever *giggles*

Ha. Hahahahahahahahaha.
This is what happenswhen you push Tori and Devyn as the faces of the show. It's what they get. Love to see it.

That channel is being left for dead.
It's also one of the highest rated cable shows not the NBA or FoxNews so it's pretty much just that cable is dead.

Oh there's definitely bigger issues--just stating cable seems to be dying

Stop the international casting and stick to US shows... that will maybe help with viewership
