You anchor pontoons just like a speed or deck boat, I own a pontoon and we anchor it every time we take it out when I'm upstate. 30 feet is excessive for anchoring but it's not impossible or unheard of, usually when the lakes are busy. But I'm pretty sure I read it wasn't anchored, and there was one life vest on the boat (and one on the child), which makes me think she fell off and was either hit by the boat or hit her head on he fall.
My biggest thing is, WHY would she go out with just her and her child? Even if she knew the lake, you never know what might happen. Lake Piru has also had many drownings over the last few decades, and the lake is very weeded so it could take awhile to find her body.
everyone tells me to watch glee and i haven't yet... maybe i'll start today. that aside tho, the story is sad as hell.
I saw some video on YouTube today (in spanish) that how some of the storylines some of their characters went through were predictions of things that happenned to them later on in real life.
I never really watched this either so I think I will give a shot too
Oh yeah. Like Cory's father's story line and the **** thing.

The lake was empty, she goes on slow days they said so she is not bothered.
Her son had a lifejacket on because he was 4. Most people do not wear ilfe jackets. Unless I am doing water sports I don't like almost every adult who knows how to swim.
Why is she not allowed to take her kid to a lake by herself? really curious? People go boating and stuff all the time

I've owned a boat for the last 8 years, and if anybody ever told me they were going out on a pontoon alone with a four year old, I'd say they're opening up the possibility of something happening. And that's evident by this occurrence. In a lake that's known for drownings, heavy sudden rainfalls, and whirlpools, her being out their alone is not the best idea. I never said she isn't "allowed".
Obviously everyone wears a life vest when doing water sports, but it's common boating knowledge that if you are on a lake alone or with people who aren't comfortable with dangerous situations, you keep a life vest or throw preserver within reach on the boat. But that doesn't matter because like I originally said, it seems like she fell overboard and was hit by the boat or she fell and hit her head and went over.

I don’t know I guess we are from 2 different boating situations. I mean I know so so many people like hunderds whom boat alone. Everyone near me does occasionally if they have nobody to go with. Naya has gone just her and her son many many times why would she think this would be any different.

Oh it's definitely not unheard of to go alone, I just think going with a very young child is riskier because (like this situation), if something bad happens to the adult it's putting the child in a situation they can't handle. I think just the combo of that and how dangerous they're making the lake sound, just didn't seem like a smart idea but you have a point, she was supposedly familiar with it. I guess it's just an example of one time being a devastating accident.
I wanna give this show a chance but I've been told there's singing every episode and I don't think i would like that
the show is way different than i thought it would be, in a good way. i thought it would straight up just be a musical series but it's got a lot of hard hitting topics already and i'm only 10 episodes in. there's real storylines, but yes also singing every episode. it's a show about a schools musical arts program to put it very simply.
This is such a horrible situation, I am so sad. I also think it's despicable people online, including news outlets, are passing along this "Glee Curse" and putting Naya in there. This tragedy should not be put in the same thought as Mark's unthinkable actions.

Nancy Grace's crazy *** was on Fox News suggesting there may have been foul play with another unknown person on the boat and said she wouldn't be against using kids as a witness.
All I know is that she was a regular at that lake. She went there weekly by herself. She could've had a stalker who wasn't expecting her son to be there since I don't think she's ever been there with him. This story is very suspicious and if she's in the water they should find her with all this high tech robots and the best experienced divers there is. Time will tell

That's not how simply doing a search for the body is, even the best divers and sonar still have very little visibility and you basically search with your hands. Lake Piru's bottom is literally brush and trees, there's a chance that her body (if it's there) could remain hidden for years if it's tangled in brush.
Oh she planned this. That was my initial thought when I read the story a few days ago. And now days later they can't find her body. She told that little boy to go to sleep and while he was asleep she disappeared. Now how did someone come and get her and no one seen that, idk. Same can be said on how she got "abducted" and no one saw that. She was crazy. She arrested a couple years ago for domestic violence and was unphased. Look at her mugshot. That song IDFWU by Big Sean was apparently about her. I think she could have suffered from some form of mental illness. It's 2020 anything could have happened.
Now they saying someone on a jet ski could have been following her...? But likeeeeee how you kidnap someone on a jet ski? That was her ride up out of her chile omggggg and someone medium lady on twitter saying she not channeling with her spirit or something and thinks she still alive because she is.
All y'all are delusional like she was kidnapped/taken. Her kid said she went in the water and never came up. As morris said the bottom of the lake is brush/ trees. The lake goes down 100 plus feet as well. They also don't know fully where she was when she drowned since boats drift. Also no way she would have killed her self and had her child come with her leaving a strong chance she would also die

Someone isn't thinking clearly if they're about to take their own life. It is very possible she wanted to be with her son in her last few moments. Could be accidental, could be intentional, could be anything. No one knows what happened right now. Definitely not a little kid although he's the best chance to figure it out sadly.

well yeah and he said they were swimming and his mom never came back up. You cannot drown yourself it's impossible. Obviously you can tie a weight or something but your body naturally going into survival mode and fights to live
Naya still hasn't been located they're giving the cabins another search today as she might've been abducted
they searched the cabins because they kept getting police calls about it. They said they don't expect her in the cabins and don't expect her to not be in the lake
Her show Step Up: High Water just got picked up for a 3rd season by Starz and she was promoting it days before this happened.. I'm not getting the "suicide" arguments.. that lake is huge and if it's as deep and filled with debris as they say, it's quite possible for her body to be found weeks later.. now she could have been taken.. if the lake is one she frequently visits, then a stalker, or whoever could have planned an abduction.. but the "suicide" argument is least likely imo..
I'm saying my prayers for her, but I don't think the abduction theory could be correct, mainly because didn't they have cameras on the docks, unless there is other access points to the lake, but they released the footage of her and her son walking from the car to the boat. Still hoping for the best for her :/
I know nothing about pontoons, hence why i was ASKING QUESTIONS. But thanks for the comment as always

Ohhh so now she might have been abducted?
It's possible! After 4 days of searching with the sonar devices and dog sniffers still nothing. It could be foul play.
why leave the son as a witness tho?
So Nancy Grace's crazy *** could've been right all along omg

Anything is possible the only thing that I can back this up is the way she parked at the dock. It seemed like she was almost in a rush....
