I've said that several things have ruined this show but I think the one thing that tops the list of things that ****** this show up is the very ones that created this show..Production.
One thing that bothers me about production is the fact that they seem to purposefully ignore people who'll be great for this show and instead cast people who are boring/useless/unlikable. I mean they won't cast someone like Ashley(DC) but will have no problem casting someone as pathetic and useless as Casey? They all seem to love Leroy and cast him every ******* challenge yet won't bother with Jason/Greg/Will..guys who'll actually bring something to the table which is something Leroy has never really done? They'll bring that dusty ***** Camilla on every season but'll ignore Sylvia and Violetta whom are young and fresh and will bring drama? It's like instead of getting the best cast possible they just fill each cast with a bunch of people who are useless, overused, unlikable, and boring and they didn't really do this back in the day.
Another thing is they cast the same people...I mean is it really necessary for Paula to be on 10 challenges straight? Or better yet Backpack who's been on 14 ******* challenges? What exactly makes him so important and so special that he needs to be on every season? Same for Nany(whom I like) and Leroy. Not to menting Camilla and Jenna as well. Wes Too. They need to stop casting these people on every season because it'll give us a chance to miss these people or be glad their gone. This has been the show's biggest criticism and I kinda agree with it. To me having the same cast every season just defeats the purpose of this show. Because what's the point of bringing in new people Via Real World/Bloodlines/AYTO if all you're going to do is just cater to the regulars? They didn't use to do this back in the day. Yes they had regulars but the cast wasn't the same every season and all the regulars weren't on every season together.

Not to mention they make horrible casting decisions whenever they casted outside of RW/RR/ The Fresh Meat all sucked *** and were bad television, AYTO sans Devin ain't shit, and Camilla ******* sucks, The Bloodlines fair a bit better but not by much.
Then there's the vibe of this show...They turned if from a vacation to an unapealing prision filled with shit and filth where stray cats just come in and eat on the tables..Not to mention all the over the top extreme challenges. Then theres the over the top final challenges too. Then the low *** prize money too. It's no wonder why so many people won't do this show now.
Then they don't do good formats anymore. I'd say the last good format they had was Free Agents. Nowadays everything has to have some theme which IMO doesn't help this show. This show doesn't lend itself to themes because then you can't really get the best cast because not everyone has a rival or an ex or can get a family member on the show. This show works with themes wher you can get anyone or just general shit like Battle of the Sexes.
Then there's Backpack...I feel like nowadays production has made this show all about him and it's pathetic. They bend, and cater to him so much and everyone else seems to be disposable and not really cared about. They protect him so much, they cast all his friends so he'll be safe, they cast people who'll flock to him in a heartbeat.He always gets good partners and you know from here on out they'll cast Vinny as well along with him because that's another person in his pocket. All of this bending to his will...because one season(Seasons 2) flopped in ratings? It makes no sense to me.
Production for this show needs to be fired and replaced with someone who'll do right by this show and make this show be about an ensemble rather than just one person. I want a team of people to make this show The Challenge again...not the Backpack hour.

Some of the Rival pairs from the first 2 seasons were contrived but the pairs on Rivals 3 were especially far fetched. Leroy/Averey? Nany/Wes? KellyAnne/Jamie? This season was doomed to fail from the start because the teams were all so random and there was really no history to classify some of them as rivals. Don't even get me started on that fake Backpack/Sarah rivalry too. If production has to create a twist to make their show more interesting, it shows how much of a disaster the season was. If you can't get the pairs that will make the season effective, then scrap the whole format. I would have rather seen Laurel/Easy, Ryan or JD/Sarah, KellyAnne/Backpack or Dunbar, Joey/Ayiiia, Frank/Nany, Cara Maria/Wes or Backpack. Like make sure the pairs work, production. I think BMP and MTV just refuse to listen actual fans from golden era, we can add JEK era also, and they just look what teens nowadays like to watch (AYTO, Teen mom, Awkward, etc.) so they cast people around that.

Cara - brings drama, no problem hooking up, rival with Johnny and Wes, etc.
Jamie - good competitor who is there to boost Cara and from now on Wes side
AYTO members - almost all same, can't compete but they love free alcohol and cameras
From above only Johnny, Wes, CT and Cara mostly come here to compete, others are mostly here for free travel, alcohol and some appearance check, plus after this people follow them on social media and that way they earn money
