I agree with this and I kinda want them to start doing this again just to see how RW/Challenge are connected to each other since they are. Nowadays it's like they're two seperate shows and when new RW'ers get on they give no backstory to them at all.

I know! I hate that.

Me too. Another thing I don't like is that they barley show castmembers of the same season interact with each other. I remember Elka and Montana reconnecting on Gauntlet 1..Shit like that you don't see anymore. Like Nany/Leroy have done all these shows toegether and I don't recall them ever talking to each other.

I'm going to stop this right now, because if I continue, this is going to turn into the Burn Book. lol.

But I couldn''t agree more with you. At least Portland had that in Exes 2. And Rivals 3 had Cory/Ash and Cory/Tom and Johnny/Reilly despite two of these pairs were teams.

You'd forget KellyAnne and Cohutta were both on Bloodlines because they never touched up on that relationship at all. I also would have liked to see her and Wes have a storyline this season but no let's watch lame *** Nicole and Nate develop a showmance. Lol.

On that note....

CASTMEMBERS FROM THE SAME REAL WORLD/ROAD RULES SEASONS INTERACTING WITH EACH OHTER ON THE CHALLENGES.

Darrell looks so ******* sexy there...

One thing I've always liked and look forward to on this show is to see people who were on the same season interact with each other. To see if they're still cool with each other, if they're relationship has changed, or just reconnect with each other. It's one reason why I loved both Battle of the Seasons Challenges. I remember seeing Elka and Montatna reconnecting with each other on The Gauntlet 1 or Mike/Coral being partners in crime on many of the shows they were on together, Dustin/Nany killing it in elimination on Seasons 2 or even more recently Cory/Jenna chatting a bit on The Bloodlines final(and being a bit fun with each other on the Shit they should've shown for that season).  It was always great to see that and it really kinda brings home the fact that this show is a spinoff of The Real World and Road Rules. An extension of those two shows if you will. That's one thing on this show that we still get and I'm thankful for that.

But yeah..Love interactions with same show people.

True LOL. But yeah..as I said in the entry that's one thing we still get on the challenges and I'm glad.

Yeah..they could've at least touched on That relationship. I know it was a long time ago but shit give us something.

That's why I don't mind a Seasons 3 either. But only if it's done right. NO AYTO, Fresh Meat, or Bloodlines teams. And the rest need to represent Real World and Road Rules.

Something like..

PortlandSt. ThomasEx-plosionSkeletonsCancun DCSydneyRoad Rules

New Orleans 2 would be fine if they can replace Knight with Eric or even Ryan Leslie. And the Seattle season.

I can only dream though.

True. I love a Seasons 3. But I'd want it like..

Seattle 2/Go Big or Go Home/Skeletons/Ex-plosion/Portland/Hollywood/DC/Sydney

Pipe dream I know.

surprised you don't have St Thomas listed in there considering you like a lot of them.

I did have them in Sydney's place at first but I took them out. But thinking about it it would be interesting to see a season whome was on the last one come back and play in the same type of format. St Thomas specifically because they'd be in a different postition than last time.

NOOR

I kind of talked about Noor in this thread already but wanted to give him a full entry. Because what wasn't to like about him? He was funny, he was chill, and he was a beast of a competitor. For a Fresh Meater, I thought he had so much potential to bring a lot to these shows. Plus, he seems genuinely likeable. I mean, he didn't even drink while on the Challenges so of course that's probably why MTV hasn't called him again. They should have brought him back instead of Vinny Foti and I wouldn't have minded him as a regular.

BRAD.

I've always liked Brad. He was cool on Real World San Diego and he was great when he got on the challenges. He was cool and liked doing the challenges. He had some good moments..The Wedgie thing on Inferno 2(NOW IT'S A NECKLACE!) and his little spat with Derrick on Gauntlet 2 and him getting punched out on The Ruins. One thing I always liked about him was that his desire to win. Like he would do anything to get it. But I think this is why he started making shady deals on these shows. like that whole alliance with Cara/Susie on Gauntlet 2 and that deal with JEK on The Ruins. Then I also think that this is why he played the way he did on Cutthroat. He played a dirty and shitty game but it got him the win. So while it was nice to see him win it tainted him a bit. But I understand why though..it was his last hurrah and he and Tori were gonna start their lives together afterwards so yeah..get that money I suppose.

But despite all of that Brad was a good character. Had good one liners. Had a drive to win, good competitor, little crazy when drunk. And also he was hot as hell. I still think he's one of the hottest guys to ever grace these shows. And on top of that he went out with a win..which is the best way to go out IMO. It's unlikely that he'll ever be back but that's alright. Despite me being open to see him return I don't think he needs too.

So yeah..Brad fan. Always.

Yeah, Brad was great. Pretty sure everyone watching wanted to see him win so badly. IMO, he deserved to win in Battle of the Sexes 2 and Inferno 2. And he was the only one really sympathetic towards Easy in the Gauntlet 3 finale.

I didn't like his last two challenge appearances. I hated the whole Brad/Darrell fight because I was a big fan of both and that was an awful way to exit the show. Neither of them looked good in that exchange. Plus, his whole shady attitude on Cutthroat, but hey it got him the win. Weren't they trying to put him and Tori on Exes 1?

The male competitors side during the golden era: Brad, Miz, Landon, Mark, Timmy, Darrell, Derrick, Abe, CT, Theo Von, Alton. Evan may have held up fine but Backpack and Kenny would have been irrelevant during that time.

Yeah..and they were married at the time I think too.

But yeah..I was really rooting for him on Battle of the Sexes. Just think that if he fought for that spot and got in the final 3 he would've won and his challenge journey changes immensly.

Agreed. The male side during those days were stacked and they were much more interesting as well. Kenny and Backpack would've been on the backburner.

yes! I love Noor. I wish he would've became a regular, there was no reason for him not to be.

Well because he wasn't entertaining enough for MTV(But then they cast luke and Mandi Smh)

Yeah missed opportunity there bringing Vinny and Luke when it should have been Pete and Noor. I also would have liked Johnnie from Fresh Meat (Tonya's partner) to return. Seemed like a solid competitor and also a hothead.

i dont get the mandi hype at all. the girl is so bland. she drinks but is hella boring, nowhere near entertaining. so their logic makes 0 sense

Also would have rather seen Chanda, Aviv and Linette from Fresh Meat again than useless Casey or Easy. Chanda and Aviv were pretty boring but they would have made a difference on the competition side.

Yeah..Mandi was useless as hell. Don't really see the reason for her to return.

Yeah..those three would've been better choices than ******* Eric/Casey/Ryan.

Oh yeah Ryan was so useless and a Kenny follower. Not worthy of the Burn Book or worth this thread. Lol. I can't even remember anything memorable he did on his appearances. I think he made out with Davis though lol.

Yeah..like he was more irrelevant than Cheyenne and he's done multiple challenges.

DAN R

I thought Dan was a fun presence on the challenges. Really enjoyed him on the Inferno 2, minus the way he treated Jodi, but otherwise Dan was great. He had memorable one liners like when he was going up against the Miz in the Inferno and he said "I hope it's not breaking rocks with your forehead because I'll lose. But if it's singing Madonna songs, OMG I'm gonna totally win!" Or when Landon had his ridiculous haircut and Dan said "It looks like a landing strip for ******* airlines."

Plus I was in the minority of viewers that disliked Tina and I enjoyed Dan's verbal beatdown of her. I wish he made it all the way to the end even though the Bad ***** lost that challenge.

Dan was always a good character. Always quotable and funny at times. He was also great on his first two shows as well..The Extreme Challenge and Battle of the Sexes 1. I feel like he doesn't get talked about enough honestly.

BATTLE OF THE SEXES 1This challenge was one of the single best seasons ever. IMO every single person that consider themselves a challenge fan should watch this season. To me this show represents everything this show SHOULD be about: Drama, competition, fun, and excitement. This season pits the boys against the girls and competition, and fun ensures. They compete in missions and at the end there is a scoreboard where the top 3 people from both teams forms the inner circle and votes off someone. The guys ended up creating a simple strategy: vote of the person who is on the bottom of the scoreboard whereas the women took a different route and voted off people based on whom didn't like whom and whom threatened whom etc. There was also a lifesaver given to the dailly mission winners which they could use to save one team member from being voted out. Best thing about it is the boys came out on top af the end. There was so many moments that made this season so good. Pucks spitting in David's face, Pucks Wedding, Jisela yelling WHERE THE **** IS JOHNNY!, Rachel's vote off, Jamie saving Veronica with the lifesaver(only to go home still) Battle of the Opposite Sexes, Puck ******* up the guys villa then leaving, Puck vs Ellen, Emily in general, Antoine being told that he has a nice ***** by one of the mission oversers during the Human Aquarium mission, Antoine asking Syrus what country from Africa he was from, Ruthie in general, and so much more!.Another thing that was so good about this challenge is that pretty much everyone got some sort of screentime and given that this cast was large at 36 people and the show was 30 minutes(Barring the premire) that's a ******* feat. Litterally the only one that was really ignored is Jamie(New Orleans 1) and even he got some time here and there. The show wasn't centered around one person..this season it took the whole cast to make a good show and you know what? THAT'S how it should be.And the missions were fun as hell too. Battle of the Opposite Sexes, Seargent Says, stairway to heaven etc. They were all fun and not all that extreme and I loved that. It showed that you didn't need heights and water in order to make it interesting. So in conclusion this season was amazing and one hell of a show. It wasn't as intense as the shows are now but it was damn fun and entertaining and that's what counted in the end. If only we got challenges as good as this now..

Rewatching this season right now. A couple of castmembers from that season should pop up in an entry in this thread when I finish the season.

DAN RI thought Dan was a fun presence on the challenges. Really enjoyed him on the Inferno 2, minus the way he treated Jodi, but otherwise Dan was great. Isn't he the one that suposedly hooked up with another guy in the house?

BETH

IMO, the greatest villain on the show. It was like everyone's goal in a challenge to make sure Beth was sent home as soon as possible. You knew you were in for some good television when Beth was around. She was hilarious and she could actually compete too. She really didn't start shining until the Inferno 2. Like telling Veronica that she would sell her family up a river to win a challenge and telling Robin that Mark and Tonya hooked up which led to the infamous "clothes in pool" scene. Sorry Knight (RIP), but Tonya did it better. Beth came back on the Gauntlet 2 and this was still her best showing, IMO. She sent Ruthie home, she had a great and hilarious back and forth with Montana and I would have loved to see them on Rivals together. She would quit eventually and get roasted by TJ (because of course that lame *** would). But Beth was always quotable and hilarious that entire challenge. Seriously, there needs to be a compilation video filled with Beth quotes.

She came back on the Duel and got "marked" by Tina in the first week. She had a random hookup with her "tenderoni" Nehemiah. And she got screwed over in an elimination with Svetlana. Like seriously, Beth should have won that. Same as the Gauntlet 2, everyone was gunning for her and she still was hilarious about it.

Then came the Gauntlet 3 and while she was still a target, her whole team was also gunning for Coral and Katie. Pretty much the players on the Veterans team who didn't put up with the guys' bullshit. She had a nice elimination round with Coral. Beth's Challenge story will live on forever and keep in mind, this is someone who never won or even made a final. She's always going to be a Challenge queen.
