If Cory's leg is an excuse, than it will continue to be an excuse for every single mission/elimination/final loss he has from this point on. Unless the mission or elimination is arm wrestling, it will require his whole body. So you can technically say his leg played a factor. If it's that big of a deal, he shoudl stop coming on the show. He lost. He's not the brightest bulb. There really was no reason he shoudl have lost that elimination with ashley. I liked Cory this season too but the competing on one leg thing needs to stop. If it is that bad he wouldn't do it becuase he woudl know he has 0 chance to win a final. he doesn't strike me as the type to be "happy to just make a final"
Idk why this is even still a topic tbh lmao. Cory is going to come back and redeem himself. He needs a season off though. Sometimes things like this happen. People were shocked little old Cohutta took out both Wes and Syrus in the Ruins, considering how strong they are (Syrus was beating Cohutta for most of their elimination round and lost at the very last moment). Does that mean they're bad competitors? I don't think so.
v123 wrote:mostly grip strength for the bar holding part, which is why its weird that cory lost considering hes probably got bigger hands, larger forearms and should have a WAY easier time holding onto somethingeven in the spinning thing you are still pushing your weight against something . cory shouldve won that too and he didnt. really he shouldve won BOTH rounds against nate
I think how Sarah explaio her's and Katie's ring elimination in The Ruins. It's not about using pulling to hold on, but just extending your hands and not using any excessive force. Which is why she said Xtina beat Ash, cause Xtina just extended herself while Ash was pulling herself to hold on.
i heard her say that and im not toos ure about it
I saw you're previous post and although I agree with some, I do feel you tire out faster when using other muscle groups. Cory to me seems like the guy that has strenght but not endurance. Like short burst of strength, but not longlasting.
gamer73 ********* Sarah for helping that **** Christina tho. Makes me hate the dumb ***** even more.
I mean I love Ashley but her and Cory must be idiots if they think it is better strategy to bend their elbows instead of keeping their arms straight to hold on.
i dont even know if its a poorer strategy....in theory if you are bending your elbows and pulling you are utilizing other muscles like your back, triceps, biceps, . eventually once those muscles get tired theyll drop to just extending the arms where it be will be all forearm and grip strength. nate/christina were only using forearm and grip strength. i dont know for sure but it doesnt seem like nate/christina had the better strategy herealso you have to keep in mind that if you are PULLING you are also pullling your opponent too. if cory pulls and bends his arms he adds resistance and makes it more difficult for christina to push which tires her outi think ashley/cory just got ousted physically rather than strategically. christina isnt a bad competitor...she almost kicked jennas *** last year until everyone started coaching jenna and nate isnt in bad shape at all
I do yoga and have experienced that when you lock your joints it takes pressure off of the surrounding muscles but repeatedly doing so is supposed to cause soft tissue damage so instructors will tell you to micro bend your joints. When you do that maintaining the same pose takes way more effort and I would imagine that this challenge caused a similar sensation in Cory and Ashley. I ***ume that when Nate/Xtina locked their elbows they only had to worry about minor grip discomfort. I don't think Nate and Christina are bad competitors though. I'll also try to find some kind of support/explanation of this.
As far as pulling back goes: Cory's line wasnt even completely straight when he let go from what I remember (or at least it had visible slack when he was struggling) so idt he was adding any significant resistance to Christina.
EDIT: I found no studies on this (aka didnt want to read them) but weigth lifters do something similar that they call "locking out" joints at the top of deadlifts, for example, to alleviete weight. You can search that if you want more bro science details
That elimination was an equalizer. Cory/Ash are still a stronger team than 80% of the remaining cast. I would go so far as to say Ash was the second strongest girl this season, next to Sarah of course. They had good communication, worked well together, respected each other, and performed well up until the last second. It's a shame they're forced to leave while teams like Nicole/Dario, Chey/Devin, and Christina/Nate are still there.
Cory isn't as good as he thinks he is, but he still has a lot of potential. Now that he knows what it feels like to get his *** sent home, hopefully he'll come back stronger and wiser next time.

Agreed.
But Nate/Thristbucket aren't there anymore so LOL!(not at you but them not being there anymore).
Cory/Ashley lost fair and square to team half their size in a real elimination that requiered strength and endurance. Not a crapshoot not an equalizer. It happens no excuses just think Cory was hyped too much before he went onto a challenge (started by him on his reunion). Ashley did pretty well for her first one though.

No.
The last memory for everyone is Cory losing to him so... Yes

I actually still stand that Christina is stronger than people think. I sitll view Jenna/Vince may has well be layups...they're still there because Vince is Johnny's cousin and Devin/Cheyenne are just lucky. Cory/Ashley were definitely better than those teams and Nicole/Dario...maybe even Wes/Nany, but I think Wes/Nany are better.

Absolutely loved Ashley, very refreshing to see someone new and have that competitive drive. She was also hilarious without being a try hard which is a plus when you have so many people craving attention. I do hope she's asked back for future challenges.

But at the end of the day Cory is still King and Ashley is amazing. Can't wait to see these two back on the show.

For now....
nope
They both did bad in their elimination and flopped hard to two competitors that shouldn't have been able to beat them that easily.
Ashley is definitely not the second best female this season. That award goes to Jenna.

Loved this teams relationship!
Vince and Jenna are absolutely not lay ups. Wtf type shit is that.
Careful you're sounding like a delusional fan.
The truth hurts..
RIGHT?
What?
Um...no.
camila was before she left. case can be made for nicole too

second place girl is debatable and not as obvious as the best girl who was clearly sarah

Nicole as the second/third best female? Lol
I loved them both and i hope we see them more. I didnt think i was going to like cory on the challenges bhtbi found myself rootig for him.
I'll say this:
Cory as a castmember in general >>> Leroy as a castmember. Leroy is the better competitor out of the two though.
