I am assuming that its just one show and the whole "Road Rules" is just a front. That at some point, its just going to connect. For all we know production is still lying to them, since they are only 2 hours away from Seattle.
The only people that were contacted for "road rules", were those connected to the real world finalists that include the 7 people living in seattle right now.
Basically it will be similar to the Exes twist but this time we'll potentially be getting to know them before they join the OG cast. This would also gives them time to bond with each other so they don't allow the OG cast to kick them out one by one.
My guess is it'll be like watching two seasons of Real World at once until they move in together. The cast who are the twist probably think they are actually doing Road Rules so it'll be funny to see them arrive at their destination of the Real World house.
