There is an interview that Diem did with her friend Alicia for E!. Diem says then that she knew before she decided to go on the challenge.( I posted the link in this thread.) Someone also posted the scans from the US Weekly magazine. The picture of Diem on the 4th of July has a caption on it that says the picture was taken around the time she found out she had cancer. TBH, I dont know if anybody knew. In the E! interview, I got the feeling that Alicia did not know. I think that maybe she kept is a secret. Some ppl here belive that he knew but, I often wonder why he didnt leave with her initally after she collasped. It could have been something contractual but idk....I guess time will tell.
I loved the special, was hoping they would have more people commenting like Derrick and other vets we haven't seen in awhile. I realize it was a timing thing, but good job! They captured her spirit, deff could have watched an hr though
Agreed, I loved the special but I wish it was longer and Derrick & Brad were there because they were both close to her back in the day.
It was beautiful. And this time, I didnt cry. I was more happy to see them remember the incredible woman she was. Although I felt it was a little short, they handled everything respectfully. And I cant believe she pulled CT's big *** on that tight rope!!! The challenge will be bittersweet but it will be nice to see her in action one last time.
Also, her youngest sister Faith got a tatoo in rememberance of Diem. It is Diem's final words to her which were, "I fight for you" So touching

me too! I loved the special. I thought it was very tasteful and showed the amazing spirit she had. I do feel it could have been longer, with more cast members, but at least we got something. It seemed as though it might have been filmed before her passing (at least most parts) and I am curious if it was or not.. Just a lot of referring to D in present tense.. Wes looked like he was crying or like he had just smoked something lol.. cannot wait for new season!!
Just heard "Blue Christmas" on the radio and all I could think about was CT. I hope he's doing ok.
Poor guy. I cant even imagine. I hope he is doing alright as well. I hope he takes all the time he needs to clear his mind and just stay away from the ignorance that social media can bring. He is in my prayers always.

In her original season (Fresh Meat 2005) MTV correctly listed her as age 25. Not sure when she changed it or if that was noticable to people paying attention from season to season.
I believe standard MTV practice is to give ages of cast members in their original seasons but not later ones. So if that's the case than any "age changes" wouldn't have been noticable to MTV viewers.

Agree. Don't filter Knight. Jemmye said they fought a lot - show it. If D and CT were being their typical D/CT stuff show it. Show her having conversations with the newbies too because you know she was.

Just to clear up any confusion, Diem was 34 when she passed (DOB 6/12/80).
Some articles misstate her age because in the middle of her cancer battles she "took 2 years off of her age".
