I don't understand the point of them being online instead of on TV, if they have a twist that they think would be good why only put it online ?
Because the show is just 45 minutes without commercial, if they showed that then less house dynamic and drama would be s GH own..Are you the one did something similar when some matches were sent to their private suits, people saw them online on TV
Interesting!
For those not familiar with Redemption Island. The first person eliminated gets sent to another location to go on as usual. Once the 2nd person is eliminated, they arrive at the same location and face off against the 1st person. Winner stays at the location and waits for the next person eliminated to face off once again. The loser goes home for good. At some point whoever is left at the location re-enters the game.
As an example (using the challenge):
- Dustin/Jessica are eliminated and sent to another house to live
- Thomas/Hailey are eliminated 2nd and sent to the other house and face off against Dustin/Hailey
- Dustin/Hailey win and stay at the other house. Thomas/Hailey go home
- Knight/Jemmye get eliminated and arrive at the other house to face off with Dustin/Jessica
- Dustin/Jess win again and Knight/Jemmye go home. While Dustin/Jess stay at the house and wait for the next team.
- This goes on until whatever point they decide to let the team waiting in the house to re-enter the game
If it's something similar then I kind of like it. Even though the team loses an elimination. They still work hard and have to usually win quite a bit and earn their spot to re-enter the game. It also punishes the early teams eliminated because they have to go through more teams to make it to cut point.
Then again it could be something totally different lol.
Well explained! I just hope they show footage of the Exile house hookups, lol
Well explained! I just hope they show footage of the Exile house hookups, lol
They probably won't if they aren't showing the exiles
Because the show is just 45 minutes without commercial, if they showed that then less house dynamic and drama would be s GH own..Are you the one did something similar when some matches were sent to their private suits, people saw them online on TV
IMO.they should show all the exile house drama/hookups instead of the many after shows.
I like this twist A LOT! I'm excited just for the simple fact that we will get two eliminations in one episode even though it'll prob won't happen til episode 3. I think I'm going to try and stay spoiler free for the remainder.
IMO.they should show all the exile house drama/hookups instead of the many after shows.
That would be great! Aftershows are boring anyway, unless Nia and Jasmine are there!
I was about to post that!
If, as you said, Dustin & Jessica were the first couple eliminated from the game (by an AYTO pair), but not the first couple sent back to the US, then they won at least 1 exile. So is it correct to say we're looking at something like this?
Episode 1 - Dustin/Jessica lose Dome elimination to either Adam/Brittany or JJ/Simone
Episode 2 - RW couple lose Dome elimination (either Knight/Jemmye or an unknown couple ???)
Episode 3 - Dustin/Jessica win Exile, either Adam/Brittany or JJ/Simone lose Dome elimination
Episode 4 - Dustin/Jessica lose Exile to either Adam/Brittany or JJ/Simone
Idk if i'm on the right track, but that's what I came up with :)
The thing is if Thomas is not the first one out, then there has to be a mystery couple... maybe Danny & Melinda?
The mystery couple isn't Danny/Melinda. Danny declined.
I don't know how I feel about the twist. Especially if they don't show the exiles on the actually episode. That just seems weird.
I agree, what's the point of even having the twist if they aren't going to show it.
Since the cast thread is locked here's my thoughts on the teams...
CT & Diem- As much as it's great to see these two back, especially Diem, they should've been kept off this season. We already saw this pair on Exes.
Wes & Theresa- The first Exes, Wes should've been paired with Johanna and for this Exes, he should've been paired with Kelly-Anne. It sucks he got paired up with two Fresh Meat 2 jabronis I could care less for.
Knight & Jemmye- They should've been a pair on Exes1 and we already saw them compete as a team during Seasons 2, but at least their a real legitimate ex couple.
Johnny & Nany- I love Bananas and Nany, but both could've skipped this season. I mean where is the back story on this ex couple?
Zach & Jonna- Wish "Zach Attack" got paired up with Ashley or Ashlee. I really could care less for Jonna, but hey at least we get another real legitimate ex couple.
Johnny & Averey- I'm excited to see this team compete. A real legit ex couple who just broke up not to long ago. Also seeing Averey on TV again is going to be a thing of beauty.
Jordan & Sarah- I like both of them, but when it comes to Exes I like seeing teams who have history between them instead of just a make out session.
Jay & Jenna- Similar boat as Johnny & Averey. Can't wait to see them and Jenna on TV again :love_heart:
Thomas & Hailey- Tom is cool, Hailey is alright. Thats about it lol.
Dustin & Jessica- See Jordan & Sarah. And if anything instead of seeing CT & Diem as a team again on Exes, I wish it was Dustin & Heather especially with the way they went out on Exes1.
Leroy & Nia- See Jordan & Sarah.
Adam & Brittany and JJ & Simone- Save the best for last! I don't know who you are and I don't want to know. I could accept Fresh Meat and even the Spring Break kids, but plucking out people from another TV show? I just hope these kids get the boot real quick.
With that said this challenge had more room for real ex couples, but like Rivals 2 BMP decided to stretch out things again and even worse add cast-members from a different TV show.
Okay, now I'm liking this and I'm even more optimistic about AYTO. What they're doing with this and Free Agents is making the game interesting for those who complain it's the same ole. How can you guys hate the change that we've always wanted? Ungrateful.
They deserved it more than Cara Maria and Theresa.
But the others? No.
Lol when I first read this post I was like, the ****??!!
Then I saw it was Debut and it made sense.

I'm fine with the format for exes the way it was before tbh. Change can be good but this kind of change sucks. If you can't win a elimination you go home rewarding people for losing them is just pointless regardless of the circumstances they lost.
I think the twist is good, it makes the game less predictable and opens the door to have a new outcome on the finals, and shakes the things to the cast, if the cast knew this challenge was exes 2 they probably knew it would be the same voting system, throwing a twist like this makes things more interesting
Well if the cast doesn't know about this twist they sure as **** will now cuz I'm sure SOMEONE during one of their weekly phone calls will mention it
It's very possible, but phone calls are monitored and challenge talk is prohibited.
I'm fine with the format for exes the way it was before tbh. Change can be good but this kind of change sucks. If you can't win a elimination you go home rewarding people for losing them is just pointless regardless of the circumstances they lost.
They're not being rewarded or getting anything handed to them, they may be given a second chance but at least they have to fight for it. So many people skate through and these people fighting for redemption might be doing more than the people in the actual game.
There's no golden rule saying on a reality show if you lose you can't re-enter the game. ****, Big Brother just had a competition where they invited all of the Jury members back to compete to re-enter the game. They don't do that every season. Big Brother switches it up, twist after twist. You never know, maybe it doesn't click with you on paper but you might like it when you see it on air.
I'm actually very excited now, even for the AYTO teams. I have a hard time believing they won't show the redemption eliminations though, that's a huge portion of the show and format that is crucial for viewers to see and not everybody has access to the internet. I do believe they will be shown, I don't think anything else from the secluded house will be, but the eliminations must be. I'd be shocked if it weren't shown.
I think this has been something that should've happened a long time ago. Think of it this way, many strong competitors have gone home before weak competitors. Whether it be due to a difficult opponent, a mistake in the elimination, etc. now if a person feels that way, they get a second chance.
I am glad they won't be re-entering the house though, the surprise at the final will be interesting.
Yea I really think this twist was added as a safety net to ensure if a big team went home early by some faulty dq or bad rule in the game, they can still come back and keep ratings up to avoid people being like oh their out I am done. A ct/diem or johnny/nany type team specifically, but obviously they couldn't' predict what happened to ct/diem. But odds are they payed them a ton of money to appear, so they wanted to make sure IMO that they would get a return on that investment as much as they could control
If bananas/nany somehow got last and lost in a fluky elimination this would ensure they could at least have a shot to be back since both are very popular. Same for ct/diem and I mean this as their pre departure plan things changed obviously.
Otherwise it's not that great of a twist imo. I mean odds are a team that is eliminated late(aka a vet team) will win once or twice in exile and it will be a typical final I doubt it will be a big underdog team that survives a ton of exiles who left early and survives to make the final.
If it somehow gets johnny r/avery or an AYTO person in the final than I'd say it's a success, otherwise no IMO
On a side note, this forum has gotten very confusing the past few days. Why the need for two speculation threads? Just let the speculation mesh. We can't speculate the twist in the same thread as the spoilers are revealed? C'mon.. For whatever reason the forum has gotten a ton of unnecessary or random threads recently and it's getting confusing.
I miss the old days where there was one thread for cast, one for spoilers officially revealed, and one for speculation and spoilers.
The world is getting more complicated and complex and here too.. Nothing can stay simple anymore.

They certainly are being rewarded, they are being given a another chance because they lost.
Are there any survivor fans on here that like Redemption Island?
I do like redemption island but IMO it completely different because they don't get rewarded for losing a elimination, they get a chance to prove the tribe made a mistake and prove how strong they are.
I will say I really don't see the point of this thread.
I'll also say that this change is welcomed for me. I do think they should've been trying to do this, but now they want to pull out all the stops lol

The other thread is cluttered with meaningless nonsense. This is meant to be the discussion thread.
The other thread is cluttered with meaningless nonsense. This is meant to be the discussion thread.
All the topics on this site contain that for the most part. Like someone else said its just way too many new topics opened for this one challenge.
Are there any survivor fans on here that like Redemption Island?
I like the premise. I know that when I'm on Survivor next summer, if I'm voted out (big if, because I run **** ;)) I'll want to turn right around and be back in the game. I do, however, believe that it dilutes the power of the vote. I did really enjoy RI in Blood vs Water though.
Survivor and The Challenge are completely different games though. I think the Challenge will benefit from the twist more, as there is more to the game than a simple vote.
Why not name this "Spoiler Discussion"?
The amount of threads dedicated to this challenge seems convoluted to me. And it's caused a lot of confusion in my opinion. If the meaning for each thread was evident we would avoid a lot of confusion.
I think for the most part all we've wanted is an area to discuss freely our opinions on the upcoming challenge. Which if I'm not mistaken, this thread is intended for.
I'm not complaining, I'm just confused.
