Greatest Challenge Performance Ever
Non-Castmembers don't get credit.
They do actually, you just choose not to give them any!
I don't understand how people are not giving Evan the credit he deserves for Duel 2. He controlled the whole game! Granted that Landon was the better athlete, Evan still was using almost everyone as pawns to ensure his spot in the final and then winning the whole thing. And people like MJ and Landon all knew Evan was a slimeball but somehow he still managed to basically control the game. And CT was the best guy on the Duel. He sent Evan back to canada and smoked Brad. Just his drive alone would have been enough to beat Wes in the final.
In terms of politics Evan played the best game. In terms of performance in missions and elimination rounds, Landon easily takes it.
I feel like thats a part of this game that most people on this site will ever understand. Especially people who despise Johnny, Kenny, and Evan. Yes, you need to be in shape and somewhat athletic to succeed in these challenges but 90% of the game is mental and strategic. In a week while away at a challenge the cast does 2 challenges per week? Monday challenge, tuesday elimination, wednesday interviews, thursday challenge, friday elimination, saturday interview, sunday off? That would be my best guess of a weekly schedule during a challenge. So two out of 7 days they do the athletic challenges. On the challenge days their probably out all day for commuting, each persons heat, then for production crew to get the challenge set up again for the next person to go, all of that probably takes 7-8 hours. So 16 hours out of the week they're doing the athletic part of the challenge. All the other hours in the week is the cast playing the mental and strategic part of the game. So having the mental part down is more important than having the athletic part down. With people like Darrell and Landon, they don't necessarily have a good social/political game like Johnny, Kenny, and Evan and they are the few exceptions that have success because they are not only well liked by everyone on the cast but they are very athletic and good at these challenges.
This trumps them being good at the challenges.
You don't have to be good, if you are never in the elimination, but it usually helps to be good at the missions to show you have some sort of worth of having an impact on winning missions to influence the game to your alliance.
I'd rather keep politics/social game and how well someone does on missions, elimination rounds, and finals seperate, but that's just me.
Makes the most sense to me
I'd rather keep politics/social game and how well someone does on missions, elimination rounds, and finals seperate, but that's just me.
Too bad that that's not possible.
Doesn't mean anything if everyone likes you and will happily help you get to the end.
If you're not athletic then it doesn't even matter if you make it to a final because you won't win. People like Chet and Cohutta would have no chance at winning a final ever if they go up against people like Bananas, CT or Frank.
I thought Tina performed extremely well in Battle of the Sexes 2. Sucks she got screwed out of making the final.
I thought Tina performed extremely well in Battle of the Sexes 2. Sucks she got screwed out of making the final.
Honestly, I agree! Her performance was very overlooked on that Challenge. Robin actually did very well, too. I don't think Tina would've necessarily been the best to run in a final with, though. Eh, she'd probably have been better than Arissa.
I have to go with Ruthie from Battle of the Sexes. Wish she won in the end, but she dominated that season.

I'm talking about getting to the end..Besides you don't have to be athletic to win. We've seen that multiple times.
i think the mtv challenge cast are way better than all the casts from big brother canada and usa why because the missions and challenges on big brother canada and usa are potatos and nothing compared to mtv challenges and at least mtv challenge has different formats and themes and mutli champions

Pize Money on the challenges are so small in comparison it seems like it's not even worth it.
Who said anything about winning? I'm talking about getting to the end..Besides you don't have to be athletic to win. We've seen that multiple times.
In big team challenges...not in individual or pair challenges.
In big team challenges...not in individual or pair challenges.
Jemmeye made it to the end on Rivals 2 and she's not all that atheletic...Oh and hasn't Kenny made it to the end on most of the challenges he's been on? So again like I said you don't have to be atheletic to make it to the end we've seen that.
Pretty sure Kenny has always been athletic. He was a wrestler and now he's a crossfit coach.
Pretty sure Kenny has always been athletic. He was a wrestler and now he's a crossfit coach.
What about Jemmeye?
What about Jemmeye?
She had Camilla as a partner
I think Jemmye (and Camila even though she's a good competitor) got lucky because they walked the line between the two groups. Camila had the vet girls and their male alliances on her side (Paula, Emily, Diem, Aneesa, Bananas, Frank, etc) and Jemmye had the rookie girls and their alliances on her side (Cooke, Nany, Jasmine, Knight, Preston), plus they had Leroy/Ty and CT/Wes watching their back to some extent. I would say that they had the most beneficial situation for votes for the girls. The only reason they got sent in at the end is that once Derek/Robb were gone they had to burn a bridge with one male team and it wound up being the male team that controlled their fate in the end (Jordan/Marlon). The boiled down version of this is that I don't think Jemmye's a great competitor. She's middle of the pack.
I've seen it mentioned a couple times but I was most impressed by Evan and Coral on Fresh Meat. They absolutely dominated that show until they both got injured. Evan was injured for two of their victories. After that, Evan was never quite as impressive until the Duel 2. Even though he won Duel 2, he wasn't this amazing powerhouse like in FM1 (except in the final which he murdered). It's a shame he's banned. I don't believe that he ever actually touched Tonya.
I wouldn't say Evan "murdered" the Duel 2 final. Brad was literally 2 feet behind him at the end.
I wouldn't say Evan "murdered" the Duel 2 final. Brad was literally 2 feet behind him at the end.
Brad also murdered it. I'm not saying that Evan crushed all of his opponents but he and Brad were really impressive on the course itself.
Brad also murdered it.
And the fact that on the duel II they had to wait for their partners, so this put them at a disadvantage since the 2nd place girl was slower
Probably one of the most ridiculous, idiotic things I've ever seen on a Challenge. Especially one that was supposed to be an individual Challenge.
Probably one of the most ridiculous, idiotic things I've ever seen on a Challenge. Especially one that was supposed to be an individual Challenge.
Agreed. Arguable without the waiting for partners thing, the guys race would've been MUCH closer and brad might've won- the girls were pretty set
Probably one of the most ridiculous, idiotic things I've ever seen on a Challenge. Especially one that was supposed to be an individual Challenge.
Had Brad gotten first pick of a partner, he would've won and vica versa with the guys. It came down to the girls
Had Brad gotten first pick of a partner, he would've won and vica versa with the guys. It came down to the girls
I'm really confused what you guys have been talking about for the last couple posts. Brad had first pick of partners (Rachel) and got a healthy lead over Evan. The only thing that made a Rachel worse to have was the fact she didn't help carry the ring or dig the sand out of the box.
