It felt like Nick completely fell off the MTV radar after being on The Ruins until the casting for BOTS was going around. I think I recall seeing a tweet from him around that time indicating that he felt slighted about not being selected for the final cast.
Is Battle of the Sexes 2 considered a bad season? I rarely ever see it mentioned on vevmo, and I don't ever hear anybody calling it a "classic" like the Inferno 1 & 2.

It was just completely dominated by the men...I mean, the women were just awful for most of that season

Both BOTSexes had the same problem with how things were handled in the Inner Circle. The guys voted based on DQs and performance while the girls, controlled mostly by Rachel R-Veronica-Coral, voted based on sacrificing each other and friendships. Rachel R made some serious mistakes in talking down to most of the girls side of the house and having them align against her. It was the second time that Alliances of vets really controlled the game, Arissa slipped by because of their voting strategies when she would have been gone early on otherwise. Coral did okay in missions but purposefully made the point of not volunteering herself to be a team leader on days she thought the missions were skewed towards the guys so she could try to control the girls to vote off who she wanted out.
I thought BOTS2 was pretty good. It had a very unique cast, with some strange surprises like Shawn, Ayanna, Sophia, and Cynthia. Yeah it was pretty lopsided, but there was some good drama. It wasn't crazy like Inferno 2 or anything - it was a lot more subtle, but it's a good watch.
Yeah, I love the BOTSexes 2 cast. The challenge itself turned out to be kind of boring, but great cast.
I think part of why it was so boring is because people like Katie and Veronica sort of realized how crazy/awful they looked on Gauntlet/Inferno and seemed to tone it down that season and were on good terms. I think the casting directors were hoping for more carry-over drama from Inferno to be honest.

It depends on how it is done. On BOTSexes 1, there were more endurance based and inner teamwork Challenges while BOTSexes had them going more head to head.

I loved the first season, mostly because of Emily B and seeing her bring a new concept to the challenges: playing politics and manipulating. Seeing her send Rachel R, Veronica, etc. home just because she felt threatened was very entertaining. Ruthie gave a hell of a performance, too and Ellen was great (wish we'd seen more from her). The guys were all pretty good, too. I enjoyed the simplicity of it.

Def. one of my favorites, based on the girls cast. Like a lot of other people said, the girls did really bad all season, but it had a whole line up of all stars. The original Battle of the Sexes is prob. my favorite season or else tied with the first Gauntlet. The second one was great, but I don't like that there was no point system. I think they should do a Battle of the Sexes 3, have it work like the 1st one with points and the top three points get into the inner circle and vote someone off, but then change it up by having that one person pick anyone that is not in the inner circle to battle in an elimination round. Loser goes home. Points prove who is the best, and it would be great to see imo.

Lacey was probably the last great surprise we'll get, I really wish we would have gotten to see more of her on Seasons.

Me too! Her banter with Wes was hilarious...would love to see the two of them together again on a challenge. She seemed to be good support for him. I was shocked to see her, but it made me happy, ever since Austin aired I was hoping she would appear. I'm hoping they call her back again. Do you know if she was contacted for the newest challenge? It's sad she could be the last surprise...although I think we will see more on future challenges (I'm hoping at least lol)

Gauntlet 2 was the first challenge that was put on iTunes, so that would probably explain why no season before it is on there (Challenge 1-Inferno 2). Not sure why Inferno 3 isn't though, as it aired after. Same with Fresh Meat.

Is Gauntlet 2 worth getting on iTunes? I need something to bridge the gap between now and the new Real World and Challenge. I've never watched it but everyone here is always talking highly of that season, so I thought it may be a good option to consider.

I'd say it's worth it. I downloaded it and I've watched it a couple of times in my spare time. It's a very good season.
While re-watching The Ruins, I noticed that the amount of money in each cast member's individual bank account displayed on the show does not match the amounts on Wikipedia at all. For example, the final episode showed that Derrick, Evan, and Kenny won $50,970 each. But on Wikipedia it says that they each won $51,293. I don't know which one is correct.
If you actually do the math though, $20,000 split evenly amongst each remaining team member for each challenge won, it comes out with the same wacky numbers as on Wikipedia.

I know they're on youtube, but the quality isn't always the greatest, and I'd rather own it then watch it on there...i just don't get itunes lol.

I'd say yes...I mean if you enjoy the old school cast members, get it. You don't have Rachel, Veronica, or Coral, but the drama is still great and you get Katie, Beth, Julie, Robin, Kina, Jodi, Ibis, Susie, Cara, and many more!

Now, no way in hell would he be on the Good Guys. But back then, I don't think it was surprising. Johnny actually WAS a good guy during his RW season. He was probably the biggest frat boy RW had ever seen at that point, but he was always really sweet to Paula. He definitely had his ******* moments, but in general he was a good guy IMO.
I remember when I liked Johnny and Paula. A lot.

Yeah. There was a time when I too. Liked Johnny(Paula was alright to me at first but that letter she wrote at the end of the season really made me like her.) Johnny was actually pretty cool on his RW Season and on the first couple of challenges he did...Then the Island Happened and It all went downhill from there.
