The most embarrassing challenge eliminations in history: Johnny vs CT Wes vs Eric Dunbar and Tyrie vs Life Feel free to add along.
Hahaha! They can't catch a break! They are the jobbers/red shirts of challenges. It's like they are only on the show to be sacrificed in brutal sadistic ways and to put over better competitors. They are the guys you bring in to hype somebody else up or propel a nobody into relevance. At this point it's just hilarious. It's a rite of passage to smash through a Tyrie or Dunbar on your way to challenge greatness.
Definitely rooting for Rob/Derek, Trey/Zach, Marlon/Jordan, or Ty/LeRoy. It's time we see some new winners.
Mix Danny with those two and you have greatness haha. I wonder if Tyrie actually thinks he can win a challenge... first he needs to make it to Episode 3 on a challenge.
I know he's bigger and it was a physical elimination... you don't need to do the whole run down for me. It was just comical to see Eric use Wes' head to ring the bell and to just lose to Eric in general is SAD, just like it was embarrassing for Johnny to be a backpack and now we have this... Don't take my comment too seriously.
It wasn't the straight up loss. It was getting picked up, held like a piece of lumber, carried across the field, and then having your opponent ring his bell with your cranium. That is is straight up embarrassing. I don't care if was the Incredible Hulk doing it to you, there is no way for that to not look hilarious at your expense in a competition.
Actually it is
Spoilers dude!
Mix Danny with those two and you have greatness haha. I wonder if Tyrie actually thinks he can win a challenge... first he needs to make it to Episode 3 on a challenge.
I think he made it to Ep. 6 on the Island haha
Oh yeah I forgot that is a big accomplishment for Tyrie he made it halfway through a season.
I was a little surprised that Wes didn't immediately start in with the alliances once they got home for deliberation. He's usually one of the first people who likes to get the ball rolling on sending people up for elimination. On the other hand, he must have felt that his position was relatively safe given that CT was his partner. At this point, they've got to be the guys to beat and even with that target on their back, everyone else has got to be reluctant to challenge Wes/CT so early on in the game. I do think CT was a little too aggressive with his tactics on trying to send Johnny home so early, but looking at it now, it might not have been such a bad idea. He's in a relatively safe position right now, and based on Johnny's reaction at the end of the episode, he seems to have already put Johnny on his heels. Johnny came off real insecure and worried in that final confrontation. Although I do agree that some of the rival pairings are a stretch, there are definitely a lot of returning cast members that will keep me watching until the end. I don't think I've been this excited to watch a challenge in quite a while.
I feel like on this season we're going to see a Wes we have never seen before, i think Wes is just going to lay-back, and not start any drama. And I also, think Wes isn't going to play a huge role in politics, because just like you stated who's really going to call out CT/Wes in an elimination.
Ya, CT looks to be returning to his old ways some. I'm remembering why I didn't like him before.
Some of these people on these challenges are dumb... Like, why wouldn't you want to get rid of someone who constantly wins(Johnny). Like CT started like his own "mob" against Johnny. He basically had the entire guys side on his side. But, the twist with the voting *****ed it all up for him... Zach hinted in a clip that him and Trey were voted in mainly due to Frank's strong tides with some of the girls.
And so begins Rivals 2, a partner-based competition where the pairings are based on alleged rivalries. For the women we've got Diem and Aneesa, which I totally get 'cause Aneesa totally threw Diem under the bus years ago which is something that does not happen on Challenges, and thus enmity is gauged when it does indeed occur. Then we've got Paula and... Emily? The Hell? That team is the most stacked team on the women's side. The rest of the female teams suddenly don't matter because I've got Paula and Emily winning by miles. I think Paula has developed a strategy of alienating the most skilled female competitors every other season on the chance that she gets paired with them in subsequent seasons so her team can bend every other team over on the way to victory. Paula and EMILY? Who else can compete? Aneesa is a perpetual disappointment and will drag Diem down. Most of the other teams are composed of women whose rivalries are based on drunken screaming matches, which leads to pairings like Theresa and Jasmine. And then you have pairings like Sarah and Trishelle... Sarah is a mainstay at these, but she HAS no rivals, because she is nauseatingly decent to everyone on the show not named Shauvon. Moving on to the gentlemen (haha, just kidding... they're not gentlemen) of this season, we have a line up of alpha males who subsist solely on testosterone, alcohol, and the spittle they accumulate from one another whilst getting up in each others' faces in a ram-like show down every other night. There's Zach and Trey. Purely for entertainment purposes, I hope these two make it to the final, and Zach gets gassed out so Trey is forced to carry Zach on his back like Kenny had to carry Wes a couple of seasons back. In my mind, that'd be ******' swell. CT and Wes. Two black sheep. As a team, their mutual contempt for good strategy and their appreciation of treating most of the people around them like **** should outweigh their collective athleticism, but it'll be interesting to see which gives out first: their survival despite terrible politicking, or their losing streaks. Then there's Johnny and Frank whose rivalry is justified by twitter comments between the two that resulted in both of them getting butt hurt to the point that the pain became pleasure, thus it making their pairing inevitable. I appreciate that both of them pointed out how arrogant/cocky the other is, because that's good television. Whenever the audience knows what characters on a show are saying about each other, and the characters are not privy to that information, the audience gets massive knowledge-erections. Between the two of them, Frank and Johnny have won the last 3 challenges. So I guess that makes them the favorite, assuming that people can suffer them enough to not vote them into eliminations against CT/Wes or Zach/Trey. Seeings as how people have been suffering one or the other for the last 3 shows, I reckon that the pain they cause their cast mates has transformed into pleasure as well. In the house, you cannot escape the people you hate. So a weird sort of Stockholm Syndrome develops and you start to passionately love that which you hate. That's probably not what happened, but I like to think otherwise. After the pairings and the obligatory confessionals of the players half-heartedly explaining why they hate the people they promote parties with outside of the shows, there is the stampede to the house. I had always wondered if there was ever any order or civilized system set up and agreed upon by the cast members with regards to the house, and leave it to CT to lay it out for everyone. Don't **** in your own toilet, don't leave food laying around, and oh the girls are already talking about how fine CT is. I'll bet his ***** release a sort of pheromone that make him irresistible to women who have deep-seated insecurity issues that leads them to gravitate towards them that would manipulate them. For the remainder of the episode, people comment on how stupid it is for anyone to get involved with the master manipulator that is CT. Because no one in this game manipulates anyone, thus we must hiss and recoil at a man who would charm people into alliances. Meanwhile, Johnny is bullying rookie Anastasia by articulating to her how brain dead she is for falling for CT's ploy. Which is ironic because bullying is aggressive manipulation. Or is that coincidental? Who gives a ****. The challenge itself was not really remarkable. Jump hugs. I mean, I get it. A running joke in rivals is that these people hate each other so much that even touching one another causes them to spontaneously **** themselves whilst they gouge out their own eyes. But when money is involved, by Jesus they must overcome such things. Then they can go into the confessional and talk about how funny and weird it was to jump-hug somebody who they hate more than Hitler hated the Jews. I guess Zach and Trey win for the men. Trey was pumped because it might have been the first time he has ever won anything. I reckon he should try scratch lottery tickets as those yield a dollar every now and then, and then he can be that excited much more frequently. Tyrie and Dunbar lost because that was inevitable and thus have elimination to look forward to. For the girls... I forgot who won, but that doesn't matter because it's not a girls' elimination day. Hell with it. Let's talk about Tyrie falling asleep on the john. One cannot help but appreciate the comic value of this situation. We've got one of the most maligned competitors in the history of these shows, and whenever he is talking, it is bluster to pump himself up before his traditional episode 1 elimination. And whenever he is not talking, he is just standing there and breathing. So the fact that it is him of anyone zonked out on the ******* really sells the whole "heh, this is kind of hilarious" notion behind this brilliant piece of television. That said, given how hammered people get at these challenges I doubt he is the first person to pass out on the ****ter. Somewhere in between all of this, CT made out with two different girls. Diem, the ex and probably one of the sweetest people on the planet. And Anastasia, that chick that Johnny seems to think is a walking vegetable. I'll bet one was sincere, and the other was strategy. GUESS WHICH WAS WHICH. This season, CT is employing the Joker strategy for these challenges. The Joker strategy can be summed up by a quote from the Joker: "Upset the established order, and everything becomes... CHAOS. I'm an agent of chaos." His plan? Vote Johnny and Frank into the elimination. Because that **** never happens. Tradition demands that rooks get voted in. CT is totally ****ting on tradition! He's a MADMAN. At least that's what everyone else thinks. Camila audibly **** herself when she caught wind of this plan. And everyone else timidly responded with some variation of "but that's not normally how we do things." Because historically, progress has only ever occurred when you run into a wall over and over again in the hopes that you can knock it down by running into it... over and over. Most of the competitors seem dead set on voting one of the rookie teams in, those teams being Derek and Robb, and Jordan and Marlon. So they go to the vote, and the ladies vote. Not a single vote on the women's side is cast against Johnny and Frank, yet they continue playing up the possibility of them going in even though it is now nearly impossible. BUT WAIT A MINUTE. TJ OFFERS UP A WHOPPER OF A TWIST, AND IN THE FIRST EPISODE NO LESS. The stones on this guy. HE'S GOT BIG BRASS ONES FOR PULLING THIS ****. The twist is that opposite sexes vote for each other and that is all she wrote. So Robb and Derek go in, even though most of the teams that voted them in claimed to love them. LIES. SWEET, DELICIOUS LIES. Prior to the elimination, Naomi is confronted with legitimately concerning issues at home and must leave the Challenge. I was rather touched by Naomi and Cooke's sensitivity to one another despite the fact that they had past issues. Hopefully Naomi is able to deal with things. Cooke gets a new partner so she doesn't have to go home. Huzzah. I hope to the Maker that it is Evelyn, as Evelyn/Cooke would be able to legitimately compete with Paula/Emily. But it'll probably be Shauvon, 'cause why not. She's got massive tits and one of her implants busted on television once and that was funny. So the elimination happens and for all the tension the editors tried to create with timely commercial breaks and TJ touting it as THE CLOSEST ELIMINATION IN CHALLENGE HISTORY, was there every any doubt? Dunbar and Tyrie are out. As opposed to leaving with dignity, they each ***** and moan in their own unique ways, and walk away from the cameras. And that's all she wrote. Oh, I guess Marlon and CT got in a splash battle. They probably both should have been kicked off the show, but that would have been bad for the ratings of future episodes, particularly if CT got kicked off. The most remarkable thing about this situation was when Jordan jumped in, and CT held him under water for what seemed like 15 ******' minutes. Everyone was watching CT and Marlon jaw at each other but CT still had Jordan and I was freakin' out. "HE'S STILL UNDER THE ******* WATER. DOESN'T ANYBODY SEE THAT HE IS STILL UNDER THE ******* WATER?" He got out though, so that's swell.
I think Johnny and Frank are the most dangerous teams. Johnny has strengths everywhere and very strong political game. I feel Frank is very similar to Johnny strength wise. He has less acumen politically but is right there physically. Even though they both act like jerks, they seem to have the women supporting them rather strongly and in this challenge that will be huge. Most of all Johnny is the winingist player active in modern challenges. CT was not wrong to want him and Frank out of the house right away. He just went about it poorly and maybe he underestimated just how strong a pull Johnny has on the house. You saw how as soon as his name was thrown around with the girls, many have off an almost offended reaction. "Whaaaaa!? You want to send in Johnny!? What's wrong with you? How dare you!" You would think CT proposed throwing Micky Mouse in an oven and having him for dinner. It's also hilarious how rookies come in crying about how vets just want to throw them under the bus, etc. and then after they get two challenges under their belts, they just feed into the same socialpolitical system they were decrying 18 months prior.
Wow Frank looks freaking jacked! Hes always been in good shape but jeez. And Wes looks a lot skinnier. Why was Dunbar so upset at Tyrie at the end? Dunbar is the one who fell in the water first. And Dunbar is the one who didn't ring the bell fast enough. Yet he blamed everything on Tyrie. Oh well, I'm glad they're gone.
Very solid first episode. I have a feeling this is going to be one of the best in a few years. I just hope the ratings reflect. They have been promoting the hell out of this. This will be the season that finally makes or breaks the challenge.
Don't know if its already been said, but Theresa tweeted that she wasn't at deliberation because she was in the hospital very sick.
Ok instead of having 17mins of Kenny and some bimbo talk about the cast how about we get 5 dailies instead or have the cast talk about the episode instead. Like do I give a **** what Kenny has to say? No! Especially since he wasnt even there, all the **** he's talking is crap he hears from Johnny, he doesnt know anything, hes just watching it on TV, the real cast can give us back stories and inside info. I actually have questions I want to know, like were Wes/CT actually going to go through with their plan and vote Johnny? Cause Wes didnt want to do it and we didnt get to see what the guys were going to vote, I wana know if Leroy and the rest of the guys would have voted Johnny in or played it safe.
The women selecting the second men's team for the elimination round answers two things I hinted at weeks ago: 1) The "twist" regarding alliance value, and 2) CT's reason for "hooking up" with as many of the women as possible (and why Diem understood what he was doing). There will be at least one more full reveal in the next episode. And now a quick critique of the episode: The premier episode runs for 90 minuets (with how many commercials?) and all we get for real action in the elimination round is 15 total seconds of competition? Really? Was it really worth even building the "set" for that result? BTW, pushing, shoving and chest-bumping is not fighting, but apparently that is what the promotion people at MTV decided to call it... Yawn! As for those wanting Exes 3 as a follow-on challenge: You better hope that Susanne Daniels and Van Toffler will agree to a Duel 3 format for the next (last?) challenge, because neither exec apparently wants a series older than its demographic, according to my usually reliable sources. In fact, there is a hint of this from the hiring announcement of Ms Daniels late last year. "
"While at Lifetime, Ms. Daniels introduced that network’s two most successful series, “Army Wives” and “Drop Dead Diva,” after succeeding at the WB network with a range of culture-defining hits like “Dawson’s Creek,” “Buffy The Vampire Slayer,” and “Gilmore Girls.” MTV, which often touts its ability to keep reinventing itself for new generations of young viewers, will undoubtedly look for Ms. Daniels to generate a similar crop of series to make a cultural mark on young viewers."
I enjoyed last nights episode I thought it was entertaining. I thought the CT and Diem scene was really cute. Some of the cast and Kenny said that they thought this was all game play for CT but I don't think it is that at all with Diem. I agree I thought the challenge part could have been longer I enjoy watching everyone compete and seeing who can do what and who can't. I wonder if they are trying to focus on some of the other stuff to help ratings.
I hate the voting system for Rivals. Why on FM2 each pair had two votes between them, but for Rivals it's one vote per pair. Also do the winners of each mission get $1000 a piece or spilt to $500 because on Rivals it was $2000 spilt to $1000. Looks like the Challenges are getting cheap if its spilt to $500 lol.

TJ is told to mention only the aggregate amount since it's larger and, thus, sounds more impressive to its teen demographic who just say "wow" and wait for more pablum to be sent their way. "Cheap" is the most generous word I've heard used by cast member, although I know one with a substantial IQ who says they are "parsimonious to a fault."
I cracked up when I heard that, lol.
Me too... I had a little chuckle!
I love Knight's commentary about Preston, had me dying. "Preston's biggest attribute is his toenail polish" or something along those lines.
Knight is funny as hell. Good thing he's on the show so we can get some laughs.
They are taking a really long time to post the full episode on the site..
I heard Leroy was pretending to cry of how "big" the money was. He was joking.
Wow, he wasn't even really crying he was just playing around.
The Kenny situation is odd to me. It seems he would like to make another challenge appearance yet he isn't invited? Yet, they give him plenty of fringe opportunities to host and commentate. What is that? If he has decided he doesn't want to do the shows anymore and pursue his hosting career that's cool but he frequently acts as if he wants to be on the show competing and he's being left out. I also miss the dallies. That was some interesting insight.

Look what I just saw on the next episode's sneak peak: Ep. 2 | Sneak Peek CT plans a ninja attack on unsuspecting housemates. Episode airs Monday at 10/9c. But on MTV.com schedule it says that it is only wednesday. So which one is correct?
