My friend went to a casting call today. She said the director said that this season will be "totally different from portland, but they want even bigger personalities" They're looking for people who have tattoos, "suicide girls", people who are married or recently divorced, young parents.. she also said they aren't stressing about not being 21 at the time filming starts this season.

I might just wait and see what the summer has in store for me, and do season 30 instead.

I assume BMP isn't going to do their normal round of college towns as well this year because its nearing summer now? Have they hit any Midwestern cities other than Nashville and Chicago?
Hey Guys today, i went and auditioned in NYC having the VIP PASS which they emailed to half the people there. So the setup was basically 15 people in a room and they make you go around and introduce yourself and give a quick interesting fact about yourself. Usually 2-3 mins per person. In this introduction they pick whether they like you and keep you and move you to the next round.. In the next round I filled out a 50 page packet , and they take your picture. They said they would call you back for the next round..
Honestly im just trying to figure out when they will call back if they call back? I left around 1:30 pm EST and its now 8 pm EST .. Im wondering if im already out the equation or maybe they will still call back later? Anyone know ?
How do you get this info that they are looking for single parents? I went to be on the cast before made it to the 3rd and the reason I was turned down was because I had a child. How did you hear they was looking for that this season?

How do you know what they are looking for where did you get the info. I went to get cast last year and they did not like the fact I am a young father of a son.

Can I get a answer to my question. How are you certain they are open to cast single parents this year?
That's just what my friend told me. During my experience with casting, they usually tell what they're lookin for and what vibe the season will have right before they begin the group interview
They've cast them on BGC, so I don't see why not RW. Though it would be interesting to watch, if I were in the house with someone who was a single parent and left their kid to be on the show, id give them so much **** that they would want to leave.

After the Skype interview they usually do a background check with family and friends. Soon after, they'll.make you mail in a casting tape if you haven't already along with a copy of your passport. The next step is finals in LA
That is true. I would make for great Real Wold a person with a child. It has not been done on The Real World why not. With Portland season being so bad they need to bring some people in with real issues. Do you have any idea once someone is called to do a skype interview what is the next step in the casting?

They ask this every season. If you don't have one, you have to get on and expedite it for like 300 bucks regardless of if its an international season or not since you wont actually know that until filming begins.
On vevmo, there's a "casting process secrets" page or something like that. I read it all before I went to a casting call once. After that, I kept getting calls and eventually got cut for...fabrication of some stories. If you play your cards right, you can make it pretty far like I did. Just don't lie or be fake, they smell that **** from a mile away.
It feels like they are rushing through casting this year, a lot of people are already sending in casting tapes after doing Skype and phone interviews and they aren't even done with open calls
I have made it to the Skype interview round. Once I finish my skype interview if they like me how long will it be before the reach back out to me? Any info on the time frame I might be waiting will be really appreciated. Will they get back to you the same day, next day or weeks?

It's going to be a while, they haven't finished with open calls so they have to catch everyone up to that point. Next they call your family, friends, job, etc to make sure you're being real about yourself. After that, LA.
Do you really think I am the only Michael that has made it to the skype interview process? PLEASE! Thanks for your consern but I am sure the casting director does not spend their day looking at the post on this site. I am just trying to get some insight what happens after my skype interview.
