Some shows are still doing well, but they are not doing as well as they were in the past. MTV as a whole is doing worse. The first 2 seasons of Teen Mom 2 had every episode with 3+ million viewers. Season 3 had 2 episodes put up such numbers and Season 4 had 0 episodes put up such numbers. The Real World is doing horrible in the ratings, but you can't expect it to be where it was at when MTV was at their peak with Jersey Shore putting up monster numbers. They should be able to get the 1.5 million viewer mark, but to expect 2 million is unrealistic, since MTV's base audience has deteriorated greatly.
Yeah I never expected 2 million honestly. I always thought around 1.4-1.6 million would be good, kind of similar to Snooki & JWoww's numbers, not out of this world great but not awful. I'm still surprised at the numbers considering the huge amount of promo, I don't get what's going on.
I still think they have another Real World season and a season 25 of the Challenge which is the Duel 3. Depending on the ratings it might be the end after that.
What's your guys predictions for the highly anticipated Nia vs Avery/Johnny that we see in the trailers? If Jordan vs Nia caused an increase I don't see how this upcoming brawl wouldn't since they're actually getting physical.

Excellent question however I don't want to answer for fear of being wrong. lol.
Nia alredy said that Averey was so manipulative and Johnny has the same problem as Jordan, she had to do something
After last weeks episode I had a feeling the ratings might go down for this week. At least Duck Dynasty isn't out there taking America by storm anymore. MAYBE a RW episode can catch one of the DD re-runs.

But it went up from last week, didn't it?
The show with Vinny's ratings were not much better with 1.16 million
Really? But it had Hurricane Lil Wayne on it. Vinny has lost his relevancy, oh no! AWKWARD is pulling in 1.3's
The show with Vinny's ratings were not much better with 1.16 million
MTV needs to just let go of the Jersey Shore franchise. The only two with moderate success is Snooki and JWoww's show and they're bringing in average ratings, other than those two MTV shouldn't have even bothered giving Vinny his show.
Here is a linear projection for ratings based on those of the first few weeks. The present trend is upward. Will last week's episode derail the trend?

Not to mention the set-up is a little embarrassing but the guest are pretty good, ngl.

Lil Wayne is Lil Wayne. Hurricane Chris is a whole 'nother rapper. Or did you mean something else?
A better model would be a quadratic regression, especially considering we are forecasting an increase in ratings.
I'd prefer a lot more data points to work with, and even then we'd probably lose the vast majority of readers. I thought a simple linear projection would be easily understandable and encouraging.
REAL WORLD XXVIII 0.90 0.6
Was just going to post that. Ratings drop again. I predict once again re-runs will be pulled for next week lol.
Ouch. This would appear to confirm that Nia did not bring in or sustain the viewers BMP told MTV they would get from casting Nia. I'm sure she will have some cogent explanation (excuse) to share via twitter now.
Men don't really watch RW in any great numbers, so I don't know that there would be much of a loss to NBA games. The demographics don't show women 13 - 24 watching the NBA much. The % is greater for college hoops. So, again, I don't see BB as a draw from RW for either sex.
It's a bit difficult to reflect on the "and such" demographic, so I'll leave that to others' imagination.
They probably got spanked by basketball and such
Of course they did, but that is not the reason for the low ratings. The ratings are low because this season has been mediocre. It shouldn't be getting beat by 12:30 AM reruns of Duck Dynasty.

Don't be too harsh

I actually expected a drop but good thing it wasn't as drastic as the week it dropped to .8. I will say that this episode was just the aftermath of the last episode, lasted only about 13 minutes before the commercial break and the second half of the episode was mostly Johnny/Av (which was dry). There wasn't much to watch after the Marlon/Jordan/Nia blowout.

I wouldn't really say it's mediocre but honestly if I wasn't a fan of the show and had been watching it for so many years now, if I saw a preview of it I probably wouldn't be that interested in seeing it.

Here it is. Wutzrenzi this is nothing against you, but I think people should've realised by now that Nia doesn't worked as people (including me) have hoped she would. And I don't really blame her for that, because firstly with the stuff she gave the producers, you could easily have made her the fav of the show. Just looks at her beautiful victim face.
Secondly they set the battlefield pretty good. Jordan was the villain who always have to have right and he went against anybody, but nobody really go at him and then Nia came with her plan, but they flipped everything overboard with this argument.
Ratingwise, I just don't think Javerey is the problem, because if you look at vevmo and social media, those two are with Jordan the top 3 liked people from this season now and definitely not turn offs.

I find Johnny to be a little ***** and Averey, Jessica, Ana, and Marlon to be very boring. The first half of last nights episode was amazing, the rest..no. Had they cast 5 other people who are just as dynamic as Jordan and Nia, this season wouldn't feel like "The Nia Show" which is why people are tuning out.
I find it annoying how so many fans on the challenge facebook page just say "Who cares about the Real World?? When does the challenge start!" If you are a challenge fan then you should also watch the Real World to help support the entire franchise, because when the RW goes off air, The Challenge is gone as well. It doesn't hurt to take 1 hour of your day to watch future characters for the next Challenge season anyways right? I always hate it when fans complain "Who is this?? I've never seen him. Get him off my screen I want CT!!".. well of course you don't know who the rookies are because you didn't watch their real world season.
The Challenge ratings have blown the Real World ratings out of the water surprisingly and I wish each challenge fan would support the entire franchise and not just the spin off..

I know Johnny and Averey are well liked but they had a previous episode focused on them and it didn't do well.
Either way you put it TRW can't win. Nia is too much for some people and then let's say if she was never on the season people would be complaining about how "boring" it is. So what can we do?

The show needs 7 strong personalities (like Brooklyn or Cancun) and not just 2 with 5 fillers.
