The Challenge: Rivals II - Discussion (Spoilers)

I'm always entertained by these threads when they start, simply because of how much the lunacy of people's speculations irritate the mods. Also, I speculate this upcoming season will take place somewhere sunny, will be hosted by someone who is noted for their performance in extreme sports, and will have competitors from multiple genders as well as ethnicities.

Should we no longer talk about speculation then in the general forum I take it? Clearly the following will be on it: Anne from RR Northern Trail, Emily B from RR2, Rachel R & Sarah G from RRCC, Julie the Mormon, Lori from RWB2NY, Veronica, Coral, Rachel Braband, Elka, Irulan, Ruthie, Genesis, Katie Doyle, Beth, Robin, RRX Girls: Jillian, Kina, Jodi, Ibis, & Angela. That is my speculation for female veterans, which will be one team in itself....disagree if you must! For real though I hope they use Lacey again....and only if Wes is there. I thought she had some funny banter with Wes, and I'd like to see them both together again. Based on Paula's interview with Evan...is it safe to think that Johnny & Tyler are as close to being listed as 'for sure in' as they can be since they she said they were going? Just imagine the drama of those vets deciding who goes in out of them if it is vets vs rookies. G3 was a mess, and that was yrs ago their egos are probably worse now. Also on g3 vets only lost when they tried to, i mean if it's a good rookie team no vet guy will want to go in against Zach and none of those guys so far speculated don't cry if they get voted in. Well i guess CT doesn't but he just likes the opportunity to do another t bone style elimination. They will make sure it is one like that if he has to go in, which could be awesome. Even though Zach really didn't impress me last challenge, the guys will see his size and not want to face him. I'd like to see CT in Rivals shape though, but i just don't see that happening if he is on spring break for a month prior. Assuming he was asked and all. I believe the inertia event guy though so i am happy if that is true. A vet/rookie pairing challenge would be interesting just to see the team dynamics of a frank/CT or johnny/trey working together.

And I kind of hope they don't and that this thread gets ridiculously out of control as it did last season when we agreed not to moderate the thread and it took 116 or so pages before a member said "hey guys, let's try to keep this thread on topic". I personally will not be reading this thread. It's generally full of crap and ridiculous speculations (like "OMG xxx went to the gym they are totes on the next challenge!!!1!") and yes, it does irritate me. Very much. Someone going to the gym isn't valid speculation. Someone saying "hey guys, I'm going out of town for the next 6 weeks or so but feel free to leave a message on my phone!" is valid speculation. The departure date has already been given. Anything stating otherwise is not valid speculation. And I really don't want to get "hey I'm pretty good friends with xx from xx season and they said they're going to be on the next challenge that departs on april 17" messages because that's a load of bull****. I'll be forming my own cast and speculations privately. And I will share those speculations later on, closer to/after departure date once they are more accurate. I have been quite busy in my personal/professional life lately, hence my lack of availability around here, but am trying to get as much info as possible to keep those I view as valued members of Vevmo happy and intrigued.

Can I speculate that the challenge is gonna suck?

The newer seasons just don't compare to the original Battle of the Season/Sexes, original Inferno/Gauntlet, etc. The newer seasons are almost polar opposites from what the older seasons were; sometimes, they are not enjoyable for those who enjoyed Inner Tube Tango or Sidekick Showdown. While I, as an athlete, am always one to appreciate good physical competition, I also enjoy the hilarious comedic relief of the "fun" challenges. They just don't have those anymore.

I can't wait until the cast is announced..it's probably the best thing about the speculation threads..seeing a few cast members names pop up left and right is always interesting. I hope Derrick, CT, Johnny, Wes, Kenny, Landon, ect. are on this Challenge and not that god forsaken ********** cast that was on last season.

The list that Reily Man posted actually isn't bad in my opinion. It's not like he said it's the COMPLETE CAST. I like it. I feel like people at Vevmo need to be a liiiittttle more kind and considerate - at least to the newbies-, it's getting a bit ridiculous. Instead of everyone acting the guy (who may or may not be telling the truth) a simple "can you explain or post links?" would have done fine..

I actually liked Sidekick Showdown because it was a fun mission. You also have to consider that the original Battle of the Seasons had Hurricane Juliette to contend with. Although, the toga party with Miz as the door prize was funny and watching Theo wreck the scooter he just won on a median was priceless. I would not mind a Vets vs Rookies if it were more balanced. I actually think CJ is more dangerous an opponent than Zach. He may be big but he doesn't much else.

What I might enjoy seeing is a challenge that takes a page from the Fresh Meat concept and pairs a vet with a rookie. If adapted to include the point system from early challenges, along with the removal of any other possible use of alliances in determining outcomes, then it's just two people against everyone else. How to fairly engineer the pairings is probably the most difficult problem with this concept, but I would not allow the cast to participate in the makeup of the teams. Parhaps male vet with female rookie and vice versa.

Robb was supposed to be be at south padre island spring break tour. But he is not going any more.It could be either some personal reason or he is going to be on the new challenge.

Even if you have very good reason to believe that those people will be on the Challenge, there is always the possibility that they drop out at the last minute.

Emily is a beast physically but mentally she just isnt on the same level. She may surpass or already ahve surpassed her physically though. I love Emily so I hope she is on the next challenge. I know Evelyn wont be but that would be great if she was as well. She has grown on me over the challenges.

If this Reily Man cast list is true then so far I'm cool with it but if it is indeed a rookies vs veterans format hopefully its not a Gauntlet 4 but a new gameplay format where rookies & vets face eachother in elimination. That being said I wonder how the fans will feel if it is this type of cast & format will they have negative feelings like " Wow BMP isnt really creative anymore we seen this coming along time ago, Vets vs Rookies its been done before" or more positive like " Wow now we get to see how tough Zach & Frank are now Johnny & CT are in the game and maybe having a rookie dominant challenge last season was a good idea because these newbies have challenge experience maybe they'll give these vets a run for their money".
