I'm sure if there is a guy good enough, then he'd make it on the show. Quite a few of the people who have been on TRW would have never of made it on any of the other reality shows, so I think its a bit unfair to dog on TRW for being discriminative. Anyway there was an Asian guy on The Real World: Vancouver ;p

All I'm saying is that out of the 20,000-40,000 people who apply each season, you honestly think there hasnt been ONE unique, interesting Asian male worth casting?
I can imagine the blogs, headlines and possible increase in ratings the show would get if an Asian male were to make a season (especially if he's entertaining) - I mean, not to exploit the guy and make it such a big deal but it would be a "about **** time" moment for some people.
Does somebody know if they do keep some interesting people for the next season as an option if they didnt make it the first time or do the casting people begin from point zero again?

However, if you submit something and casting for that season is already done, they'll review your submisson for the following season. CJ tried out for DC, but the casting directors told him he'd be better for the next season. So once casting came around for Cancun, they called him and he skipped the first 3 rounds of casting. Same for Svetlana; she made it to the finals for Austin but they told her she'd be better for the next season.

RW was renewed until Portland, right? So if this season sucks it's bye bye Real World...
RW was renewed until Portland, right? So if this season sucks it's bye bye Real World...
I'm banking on the fact that the casting directors have found us some interesting people to hopefully keep it around for a few more seasons..
The show has been going for 20 years and is the biggest staple on MTV. If it fails, it will be primarily because the producers did not find interesting people.
Well what we gotta do as the fans then, in that case, is just not give up on this show...no matter how terrible it gets. If it's a season full of Franks, IDC, I'll still watch.
Well, let's not make statements we can't take back...
from what I've heard Johnny Riley might be the straight, meat head version of Frank.
Randomly rewatching TRW: Sydney. Its funny how Shavoun comes across as the most educated and sophisticate haha. The only time she has slipped up so far is by calling the Irish, Ireland people lol. I also noticed a lot of commercial music is used in the season which I thought they stopped using way before this season. The season is actually pretty enjoyable when watched as a marathon form.
Like seriously, this guy is more interesting than anyone from St. Thomas Real World 27 (Home Submission Tape): Benjamin "Ben10" Phan - YouTube He said he made it to round 3, so at least they're considering Asian males.
Not good enough when they have like 8 caucasians in the house...

I remember trying to watch a while ago and it was the only season from 18-now that wasn't available? I guess that may have changed since I last tried.
They used to have the episodes up on itunes, not sure why they took them down. Being a Denver fan you'd probably like Sydney, they had a **** of a lot more arguments although pretty much all of them were of a more trivial matter than that of any of Denver's, if thats conceivable. Whether it be Shavoun throwing cans of Pepsi at Cohutta because Parisa made him a cheese grill sandwich and not her. Or Dunbar flipping out because his girlfriend called him dumbie bear on the phone.

I guess he was right to flip out since he stuck with him. And it is fitting...

Somehow that does not surprise me
What are peoples thoughts on Parisa? I still to this day can't work out if she is the biggest drama queen ever to grace The Real World or really was just the poor girl that got picked on all season long.
I thought Frank from San Diego was the drama (b)itch
TBH I think he was just looking to argue with her so he'd have an excuse to cheat on her with Ashlee.
Right--hence the nickname :)
I thought Frank from San Diego was the drama (b)itch
I don't know. I think you take it to an all new level when you can constantly create havoc around you, yet somehow come across as the victim.
I fully expected him and Dustin to go at it this past episode and end up in the pool then going home
I fully expected him and Dustin to go at it this past episode and end up in the pool then going home
You see, Parisa would have faked being pushed into the pool, then pretend to drown, get rescued, and then cry in a corner for the rest of the night.
****
You see, Parisa would have faked being pushed into the pool, then pretend to drown, get rescued, and then cry in a corner for the rest of the night.
Starting to be very happy she's never done a challenge
I think it would be good for her to do one Challenge. It would add to the stress level in the house which creates more drama and the rest of us can take bets on how many episodes go by before she gets eliminated. Anyone for the Episode 2 or 3?
