can they please bring this show back? X-treme was a great season, I didn't care for viewer's revenge, but liked some of the new cast members we got out of it. I know we'll never see it again, but was it ever officially canceled, I know for a while they just said it was on a long hiatus.
Jon Murray said it's done. After that abomination that was Viewer's Revenge, I say good riddance.

That was a horrible season...I wish they would try it once more with the format they used for the last few seasons before the horrible Viewer's Revenge. Six Roadies with some getting voted off, it made for a more interesting show then Real World.
Also, if you download Internet Explorer 9, they give you instructions for a month trial. You need Windows Vista or 7 though.
Damn, I missed out!

I friggin loved X-treme. That was straight up amazing. I like it better than i like say SP which I found to be overhyped and extremely boring.
That cast members of VR were good too and I loved the new people minus Derek as well.

As of fan of Road Rules period and missing it like crazy I have to say I found to be an okay season. To the average fan or viewer it was either hit or miss.

Actually. I would say Six people witn NO vote-offs. When they started that vote-off rule that's really when the show started to go downhill. South Pacific and X-TREME felt like revolving doors at some points because half the cast got voted out and that's not what this show is about..It was about these six people going on this amazing journey. Seeing diffrent places. Doing Diffrent things. And at the end of it all get a big hefty reward for it...Not trying to lose mission in order to aviod voting someone out. Isn't that what the challenges are for?
Anybody know why they don't just start up Road Rules again? Was it really unpopular or something, because the really good athletes were mostly from Road Rules in the beginning seasons apparently.

I at least want the opportunity to apply to that before I get too old. And I'm getting there fast. :-P It's above Survivor in my dream game.

I remember Mark had his theory that it was basically a waste of money and time to continue with RR when you have The Challenges increasingly progressing, RR became redundant after a while. I wouldn't say he is wrong there to be honest but it could be other reasons.

I remember him saying this as well. He also said Road Rules cost a lot of money to film, which makes sense.

Yup, I heard that too. He also said that Road Rules draws in the same audience as the Challenge, so no point in having both.
What I'm wondering is... is renting a "house on wheels", like Derrick said, really that much more expensive than renovating and furnishing a house? I didn't know.
Don't forget that Viewer's Revenge may be the worst season of any RW/RR/C related show put out on MTV as a reason for Road Rules being gone
Yeah a season like that can kill any reality show permanently.
It really sucks that Road Rules is gone. Not only was it more Interesting than RW(in my opinion). A Huge part of the challenges were lost. Because when you look back. The Road Rulers were always the ones that Brought the Drama and Competition most of the time.

Uh...you must not have seen many RW/RR/C seasons because its not even close to the worst.

I don't need to have. I've never been as offended watching one of these shows as I was during that season. It completely destroyed the purpose of Road Rules and presented us with a bunch of spoiled brats like Adam getting off scott free without having to do anything. The ONLY redeeming story of the show was killed in the last episode when they sent home David for doing something that I know for a fact was also done by other people on the same cast.

I don't think so, although it was a horrible season.
RR was coming to an end before Viewers Revenge, remember there was a three year hiatus after X-treme and before VR? During that break I'm sure they were trying to figure out if they would be continuing with RR or not and just said f it, let's throw in an all-stars with newbies and say our goodbye.
Uh...you must not have seen many RW/RR/C seasons because its not even close to the worst.
I've seen several RW/RR/C seasons and let me tell you. Viewer's Revenge was THE WORST show out of all of them. Period. Like Nightwolf said. They destroyed what Road Rules was all about and by doing that they killed the show completly. The only good thing that came out of that season was Dan.

It was horrible. I remember if I missed one episode, I felt so out of it; the format got uber confusing sometimes.
Semester at Sea was a different way to go about it but a good way. I liked X-treme, MVT, and RR1 for different reasons. RR1 simply because it was the first and set the mold, even if it had Los on it. MVT was just a good solid cast. X-Treme because I think they were the best cast overall with Jodi, Kina, Ibis, and Derrick. Admittedly, I've always been a fan of that quartet.
Down Under was my favorite, mostly because of Piggy but also because Australia is just amazing.
I also loved:
Season 1 and the nudist colony
Latin American and Abe
Semester at Sea and Veronica being a klepto
and finally South Pacific, just because it was so much drama.
I absolutely loved Piggy!
I remember she was working in the casting department for RW years ago, I wonder if she's still there. Highly doubt it, though
It was the casting special for Semester at Sea and what ever Real World season went with that, because I can remember her graffiting some wall with Yes lol.
I remember that she was supposed to be on Inferno I but they pulled her from the show, (kinda of like Sydney this season) so I can't imagine she has a great relationship with BMP now.
Also I still really want to know where she was actually from, they said Northern England in her casting tape, I would guess she was from West Yorkshire though.
I thought she did do Inferno due to a family matter
Why didn't they just say that then, instead of pretending she was never there.
