While having a solid draft is important, the magic happens on the WW. That is what separates good from great.
I wish there were larger benches in this league. There were so many sleepers I wanted to draft but couldn't because there are only 5 bench slots. It would remove a lot of the luck from the WW and who has higher priority that week.
There's definitely some things I would change if it were allowed but with the free league there is no flexibility with the setup. Perhaps next year we can look at an alternative site. Adding a flex position instead of a 3rd WR slot would be high on my list.

You can't change the settings in a free league on CBS? CBS has the worst fantasy of any website I have used thus far.

CBS is fully customizable if you pay to get those options. It actually used to be 2 WR w/ flex by default, but that changed last season for one reason or another. Yahoo is the least customizable of the 3 and is not for serious players. ESPN has a dated UI and half the time I want to throw my laptop out the window because everything I click on requires "insider" access (which is why I generally boycott ESPN along with any other semi paywall websites.)
In the end, I think it all comes down to personal preference. CBS with its stupid apps is starting to get under my skin, but in the end I still prefer it to all other free offerings.

Yahoo is fully customizable. I am not sure when you last played it, but I am in a keeper, PPR, and various other custom settings league on Yahoo. I haven't had any problems with ESPN's UI, but I will agree that insider access articles are annoying.

Honestly, it has been a few years.
Auto Draft really did do me well. That's the luckiest I've ever been on that. Last year my first few players were auto-drafted and they sucked.
I'm ready to win :D
Ugh. I came flat footed out of the gate and left a bunch of points on the bench. I'm going to need to catch a few breaks (and soon) if I want to get out of week 1 with my pride intact.

I feel your pain. I left C.J Spiller on my bench and he outperformed both of the running backs I started.
I left Peterson, Miles Austin, and Alshon Jeffrey on my bench. The 2 WRs I have on my bench are the 2 that get TDs of course and Peterson apparently is fully healthy and not limited like I thought.
Chris Johnson only had 4 rushing yards averaging .36 yards a carry. Four Patriot players out rushed him, including a tight end.
If his numbers doesn't improve, this is going to be a very long fantasy football season for me.

I was glad not to see CJ (RB) when I saw my auto draft

I had him last year and it was awful. I expected so much more. Good luck with that, B.
Chris Johnson is terrible. I would rather have Darren McFadden and his backup than Chris Johnson. McFadden may be injury prone, but at least you know when he is going to miss games. With Chris Johnson, you never know when he will disappear.
I also didn't expect to win in week 1 because I used a 2nd round draft pick that I didn't play, but it hurts even more to see him doing well on my bench. Since I am down 42 and my opponent still has Rivers playing, I might just bench Ray Rice and take that guaranteed #1 waiver position.
Edit: Never mind, this league won't let me tank. I guess I am rooting for Ray Rice and the Charges defense to have a spectacular game or be non-existent.
Seems like this week was full of unlikely heroics from relatively unknown players, while some big names did pretty much nothing (Welker?). That's the way it goes though. We definitely had some upsets this week, although I don't think I would have beat Wallflowers even if my team had performed to their overall "projected" point total. I would have beat the other 2 teams in my division though (cough, Bacchus, cough).
Also we have some people using the league message board. Only half the people in the league are members of Vevmo so I encourage everyone to post there too and create some rivalries. The more we put in, the more we'll get out of it (although with the particular group of people I recruited, they're not afraid to point the fireballs in any direction so don't be surprised if you come under fire. Bacchus already let me have it) :D

Seattle would have beaten Tennessee this week with their score and Tennessee would have beaten Miami with their score. What's your point? They weren't playing. Neither were we!
No matter the score we all end the week with either a W or L and you look to be heading down the L train. :devil2:

I agree that we should post there as well, although I don't really have much to say right now. I've been silenced by the hard reality of this week's effort. I'm already spying the WW!
Just sayin'.... other than Wallflower's effort our division came off as pretty weak this weekend. We need to do something to fix that.
I'm guessing Fred Jackson is done for a good long while so I'm in the market for a serviceable running back.

I have this total stud named Chris Johnson. Make me an offer, heh.
I like a good Blended Scotch Whiskey. Are you trying to say there is something wrong with that ***********? Heh.

Cutty Sarks
Srsly?
Edit: Oh, before you edited you post it looked like you were making fun of my team name - which really offended me (I thought the gauntlet might be thrown down.) Bringing up "power rankings" after week one doesn't even make me flinch. Your time will come. You will feel the wrath of the Sarks! Not to mention you are also 0-1 my friend. A loser just like me.

p.s. As if Romo is going to throw for 29 points EVER again...
Nah you're right. 3 TD passes is pretty crazy for him without at least 2 more INTs to go with it. I think 300-350 yds and 2 TDs per game is reasonable though. Romo's always been a fantasy stud (occasional dud) particuarly when you get him as late as I did.
We're playing this week. We both need to put up at least 120 pts. #7/12 is not representing our division well!

I agree. It needs to be epic or we are going to open ourselves up to some serious ridicule.
Aereas, are you running the Wallflowers too? That trade is a total joke...

Wallflowers and Jackalope Herd have agreed to the following trade: Darren McFadden for Marcedes Lewis.

Aereas, are you running the Wallflowers too? That trade is a total joke...
That is the most ridiculous trade ever. The guy doesn't have a surplus of running backs or a hole at tight end. If that trade goes through, I might quit, that is how ridiculous the trade is.

I've already voted against it and there only needs to be 4 votes.
That trade wasn't my idea. Wallflowers is a guy I work with and I asked him to trade Kevin Smith. He does have a hole at TE; Pettigrew is garbage. I should know, I've had him in a couple of leagues over the last few years. Indeed that is his only hole in his lineup as with a perfect management this week he would have earned 140 pts.

You should know Kevin Smith is going to be garbage in a couple of weeks. He always is.
Oh he will most definitely not have another 20 pt game this year. I'm not sure what happened because I didn't catch that game but it seems like everyone except Johnson caught TD passes. That won't be the case on a weekly basis. Still, Smith is A) more viable than an injured Fred Jacskon B) a better performer than Jahvid Best will be, going forward (I believe).

Pettigrew isn't garbage. He is far better than Lewis. If you honestly think Pettigrew is garbage, I have some oceanfront property to sell you in Wyoming.
