Life After Top Chef sounds great - four chefs I enjoyed. I'll definitely tune in for that.
They couldn't have picked 4 better people in my opinion. I'm definitely going to be watching. Sounds like a good idea and will bring people back that decided to jump ship after the most recent season, which I definitely blame Sarah for.
I will change channels when Richard is on, but otherwise it is an ok cast
Did anyone happen to catch "Life After Top Chef?"
I thought it was quite interesting and they chose the chefs I'd most likely want to know about.
I enjoyed it, but it is a bit depressing. You have Jen who is a total bust and seriously lacking any vigor or personality three years later. You have Richard whose marriage is seemingly crumbling and looks like he might implode any second. You have Fabio who is now divorced and runs cook-tainment shows in his restaurant. He seemingly wants to be the next big thing like Bobby Flay but instead is more of a paid amusement park ride for middle age women.
Finally there is Spike, who just doesn't give a **** and is fine slinging burgers as long as he doesn't have to apply himself anymore than the minimum that is required.
I like the premise and the first episode was good, but I am not sure if the show has legs enough for a full series run.

You're completely right. It was a bit depressing. I expected more going into it. I don't know if I'm going to give it another shot. I just want Top Chef back already.

I decided to record the next one and go from there, but I really miss Top Chef as well (Masters is so watered down that I quit watching.)

I always make it through the first episode of Masters, then never go back. Even though I have every episode from this season DVR'd.
I kind of felt the same way about this opening episode as I did the last time they held prelims. Too many characters that are not worth caring about.
Well produced and an entertaing epiosde but the show really starts next week.

Yeah, I completely agree. I haven't really been a fan of the prelim shows, but I liked the way they did it this time around compared to last season. Having them have to do simple chef things like make an omelette is great.
I also think I'm really going to enjoy Wolfgang on this season. He's an enjoyable character from the edit they gave him :D
I am enjoying this season thus far, I guess we will see how it will flesh out. Strangely enough, I was disappointed to see...
John leave tonight. He's an *******, but he knows how to cook and I appreciate that. You could toss anything at him and he'd have an answer. Obviously, he doesn't always have the right one for the judges.
I hope the judges weed out the drama. They got rid of a very good chef, yet a guy who bases his livelihood around pork and can't cook pork seems to be getting all the airtime. Remove him and it's a good field.
Hipster mustache dude is horrible and he needs to leave my screen posthaste. I'm rooting for Sheldon and Kristen because they seem to be the most talented chefs left with the added bonus of not being **********.
I'm so upset that John left, but that's only because he made the show more interesting. However, I am loving this season because they all seem quite talented and it's a little unpredictable at this point. My least favorite is Josie and I'm really ready for her to go home.
I didn't like her the first time around either.
She was awful the first time around as well.
At this point I'm rooting for anyone, but her. I don't really have a problem with any of the other chefs winning, except for maybe mustache guy (he's just way too cocky).
But I'm also pulling for CJ in Last Chance Kitchen.

I'm pretty sure CJ will win Last Chance Kitchen. Tom personally likes him, even after the sandwich debacle (which was more theater than anything). He'd really have to mess up to be sent packing in my opinion.
Last night was hilarious in that Tom finally got his way with Josie even though she did not have the worst dish. I love Brooke, but her food looked almost inedible (nothing worse than over seasoned , reheated - dried out chicken) and Stephan's Cordon Bleu visually reminded me of something taken from the frozen food section and microwaved.
That said, I am happy to see Josie eliminated from the show. You could tell Padma wasn't fully behind the decision and Tom was grasping (i.e. pulling in shortcoming from other challenges) but in the end he got rid of the person he has wanted to get rid of for some time.
The fact that Josie was also eliminated from LCK (by Tom, again) makes it a win-win evening.
Now the chicken stash guy must go...

Couldn't have said it better myself. Josie should have gone quite some time ago and even though she didn't have the worst dish, I honestly could care less. Stephan didn't even make fried chicken, which was the challenge, so at least I got a laugh out of him staying over Josie.
And you're right, Josh needs to go next.
I'm so upset that Stefan and now, Lizzie is gone from the show. At this point I'm rooting for Brooke or Sheldon because I feel as if they at least try and do different things that doesn't involve bacon....
I'm also rooting for Kristen to come back from Last Chance Kitchen and take the win because she deserves it the most in my opinion.
I so want Brooke or Kristen if she comes back from LCK to win it all. Josh is the sarah from last season something about him I don't like. Sad to see Lizzie go.

I don't hate Josh as much as I really disliked Sarah last season. Josh at least can be nice. Sarah on the other hand...she was just downright cruel.

I'd like to see Kristen come back as she was clearly one of the best chefs in the game. I'm also rooting for Brooke and then Sheldon. Not a fan of Josh but I don't revile him like Sarah. She was the type of personality that totally ruined the entire season.
Congrats to Kristen on the season win. I would have preferred Brooke, but they are both very talented chefs. Kristen lost points with me when I found out that she is a smoker, something I find highly unattractive.
Congrats to Kristen on the season win. I would have preferred Brooke, but they are both very talented chefs.
I felt the same way. Happy for Kristen, although I would have preferred Brooke. Maybe she will get a chance for redemption down the road.
I'm actually ready for another All-Stars. I know it was very recent, but I feel like they have a pool of people that deserve a second shot, or even at this rate a 3rd shot.
This is me just saying that I really want Jennifer Carroll back.
I am happy for Kristen, but I wanted Brooke to win because she seemed to overall do the best throughout the competition.

Brooke's redemption will likely come through being a successful chef and restaurant owner in LA. I'm looking forward to dining at her Hudson House bar/grille in Redondo Beach next month.
