That is the guy's 4th bracket. I am not impressed by a person's bracket unless they only fill out just one. If you fill out enough brackets you can get lucky with one of them.
I'm with you there. I only fill out one as well. Most of the "best" brackets we see are generally 4th or 5th tries throwing in random upsets.
If only it was 1996. It would be relevant.
don' forget the 1996 final four team never really happened. :sarcastic:
Well... my bracket is officially busted. 3/8 of my elite eight teams are already gone.
This is a sign. The best bracket on ESPN right now has the user name, NCSU. ESPN - Tournament Challenge - ncsu Obviously it won't be the best bracket when NCSU beats Georgetown, heh.
That's like the guy last year who only had like 2 or 4 games wrong before the final four, had the entire final four correct, but had VCU winning the whole thing.

If I understand their system correctly, every round counts the same so being right near the end offsets a lot of losses in earlier rounds in their points system.
It is easy to see why Kentucky is the overall #1 team. Iowa state came out guns blazing in the second half and now Kentucky is hitting them with a sledge hammer.

I'm tied with Molds, darn it. I was having so much fun with the idea of the spoiler [strike]lady[/strike] GOD being at the bottom of the group...
I don't think NC State has the legs under them.
Yet they are still standing. :D
Yet they are still standing. :D
Look at my bracket and you will see I have them still in it at this point. I do not think they can run with Kansas and then UNC again, let alone Kentucky. They survived Georgetown because of the stupid decision by G'town to play the foul-free throw game instead of running a fast-paced last two minutes and an airball at the buzzer that was just embarassing. They are just not a fast paced team IMO.
I do not think they can run with Kansas and then UNC again, let alone Kentucky.
This sounds like the random prognostication I hear spewed at my local sports bar. Did you think Lehigh could run with Duke? Did you think Norfolk St could run with Missouri? This is March Madness, not a sterile sports sim where you plug stats and blue chip pedigree into a computer to arrive at the victor. The games have to be played. NC State has already run with UNC, only losing by two in the ACC Tourney after their best player fouled out with 8 minutes to play. If they should meet again this season, all bets are off. Like UNC, Kansas isn't even in the Sweet Sixteen yet. They lost to a 9 and 11 seed the last two years running (so losing to 10th seeded Purdue is easily in the cards.) It's one game at a time as anything can happen. Why worry about Kentucky now when the only way NC State can play them is in the Championship game? Back to my original post, I never said NC State would win everything. I said, "NCSU has bracket buster written all over them! You heard it here first." And with only 18.5% of people picking NC State to make it to the Sweet Sixteen - I was right. TL;DR - Stop raining on my parade. :D

Kansas is going to scrape out of Omaha with a win. They definitely look beatable.
Definitely out if Florida St. loses...
They are in my final 4 so I am pretty toast
Yeah, after Missouri lost and now this, I'm pretty sure I'll be catapulted close to last.
Yeah, after Missouri lost and now this, I'm pretty sure I'll be catapulted close to last.
Yeah two of my final four and quite a few of my sweet sixteens are out. On the plus side, golf starts soon.
Yeah two of my final four and quite a few of my sweet sixteens are out. On the plus side, golf starts soon.
Golf? Haha, I'm ready for football again.
I can't believe I'm not in last. This has to be my worst performing bracket in years.
Definitely out if Florida St. loses...
After South Florida lost I just had a feeling Florida St. was going to choke one away, so I went to bed. Thank God I didn't lose any actual sleep over that game. Go Indiana/Baylor but I don't think either of you can beat Kentucky.
Baylor can beat Kentucky. They probably have the 3rd most talent in the nation behind UNC and Kentucky. They are just way too inconsistent. It wouldn't have surprised me if they lost in the first round and it wouldn't surprise me if they win it all.

Although I would rather Indiana do that first.
I would love nothing more than for Baylor to knock Kentucky out. And yes, Baylor CAN beat UK but I doubt they will. The people that picked UK to lose in the 2nd round must not have known the first two rounds for UK were being played in LOUISVILLE, making them basically home court games for UK and now the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games are going to be no different in Atlanta...UK fans travel very well, especially to Atlanta and they have a huge following there...they don't call it Catlanta for no reason...I look for UK to advance to the Final 4.
I absolutely love the tags for this thread.

I have a feeling that IU can beat them again. It's March Madness, anything can happen.

Factors that played a role in IU beating UK earlier this season - UK's first true road game. - IU's fans were jacked sky high making it an absolute crazy environment. - UK's Terrence Jones being a no show and whining most of the game...his stat line ? 4 points, 1 rebound, 0 assists, and 6 turnovers and he wasn't the only one...half of UK's team were basically no shows until about 10 minutes to go. - IU getting some home cooking from the refs, especially in the first half. - UK's Anthony Davis being in foul trouble the whole game and only playing 17 minutes. - UK choking and missing free throws at the end of the game that would have iced it. And after all of that..it still took a buzzer beater three from IU to beat UK by 1 point. I don't think it's going to be pretty for IU in this rematch coming up. However, you are right..anything can happen during March Madness, we'll just have to wait and see..

Until they win, I'm not jumping on that bandwagon. I was born and raised to hate Kentucky sports. I'm also not really a huge fan of basketball and could probably care less if they win or not. If they win, they win. If they lose, they lose. It's all good.
Sure, but you and that other fellow who doesn't want me to rain on his parade can form an online chapter of the Flat Earth Society
President Obama called and wants his flat earth society joke back. ;) Honestly, I don't care if NC State wins it all or not. I just want to get past Kansas and beat UNC. That would be victory enough. Kansas proved last night that they are beatable and UNC is a starting point guard down with a team that just snuck by State earlier this month.

But I honestly can't see them beating Kentucky unless all the bounces go their way +1 as they did during Norfolk St.-Mizzou.
