I think UNC won in the 08-09 season. 08 was when the 4 number 1 seeds made the final four. That was a star-studded final 4. UNC had Tyler Hansborough, Danny Green, Wayne Ellington and Ty Lawson; Kansas had Cole Aldrich, Mario Chalmers, Sherron Collins and Brandon Rush; Memphis had Derrick Rose and Chris Douglas-Roberts; and UCLA was stacked with Kevin Love, Russell Westbrook, Darren Collison and Luc Richard Mbah a Moute.
I won the vevmo league last year right??? hahaha. What 2 teams do you guys think will be in the finals of March Madness without knowing the divisions. I think that the 2 teams that I can see in the finals are UNC and Syracuse.
Not even going there until the actual brackets come out.
There will be once the brackets come out.
OK...is there a "Survivor" pool (not related to the show)? If not, I'd be more than willing to open one up for people here....
Most of the TV and internet pundits.
I actually do think UK is the best team (Definitely the most talented) but the best team doesn't always win the NCAAT..in fact, MOST of the time the best team doesn't win the NCAAT..last year and the year before last are definitely two great examples of the best team not winning it all. That's the beauty of the NCAAT though.

You'd have to explain what it is. I've never heard of a Survivor pool. Is that like when you pick the teams before the brackets come out?

I think it is where you pick 1 team per round/day(not sure which it is) and if they win you stay in, but if they lose you are out. You can only pick each team once though which is where it becomes difficult.

Hmm. It sounds kind of interesting, but I'm not sure we'd have enough interest to do something like that. By "I'm not sure we'd have enough interest", I really mean "I'm not sure we can find enough people who would actually do it every day/round".
We might be better off just doing the plain ESPN brackets as usual. Don't have to worry about it once the tourney starts.

Sorry I could have explained it better but that's right. You pick one team per day to win. They lose, and you're out.
One of the sites I go to around Bracket time offers Survivor pools. I will open and monitor one if there's enough interest on the board (probably won't count any of the First Four games).
I won one last year -- the farthest I got was the Sweet 16. The VCU-Florida State game knocked me out.

Totally agree and despite some added depth they still are not a very deep team 1-10. Plus Calipari's track record kind of scares me a bit -- he's a good coach but something screwy always happens to his teams when they get to the Final Four or title game (Derrick Rose and missed free throws, anyone?)
The 'Cuse is the deepest team, but they scare me because they never blow anyone out. They had Louisville dead to rights and yet they came back and made a game out of it.

I'm in, if we do it.
That said, I am also fine with the standard bracket that you set up.

I'm fine with doing both. I'm just concerned that we'd have 10 people sign up and then have people [strike]pull a Spinner[/strike] go MIA after the first or second round.

Kansas, to me, is looking like a Final 4 team. They remind me of Kentucky last season so much. Kansas, like Kentucky last season, is coming off a year where they lost a ton of talent and they have a big man in Jeff Withey that came out of nowhere and is playing great now, just like Josh Harrellson for Kentucky last season.
UNC , of course, after killing Duke is looking very strong and they could be a Final 4 team and are probably 2nd in the talent department right behind Kentucky.
Mich. St./ Ohio St....one of them I think will be in the Final 4...Ohio St. because I think has not quite hit their stride yet, but if/when they do the will be very dangerous and then Mich. St. because of Tom Izzo...enough said.
And then I also got Kentucky because 3/4 of their guys were there last year and their top 7 guys are probably the most talented top 7 in the country.
Other teams that could just as easily get there..Duke (If the selection committee wants them there, they will probably be there), Syracuse ( their 30-1 record is just too great not to have them in the discussion and they are deep), and Missouri.
I like VCU as my shocker team again...they are in the NCAAT again and they are looking every bit capable ( Actually more) of going on a huge run again this year.
I think Duke will be a Final 4 team. On a side note, I saw Grant Hill and Christian Laetner on TV this a.m. about some Duke 91&92 documentary they have produced but I wasn't clear where, when, or how one can view it based on the interview.
Well, Molds, it looks like it's Round 3 for us tomorrow afternoon. What are your thoughts?
Two great teams battling tomorrow afternoon on a neutral floor.

My guess is OSU will take it. We looked awful today even with Burke and Sullinger had one hell of a game.
I like for whatever team I am rooting for in the long run to lose their conference championship bid early so they will be fully rested for the real tournament, especially my ACC teams.
Can I get a headcount on those interested in doing March Madness brackets on ESPN? I will set it up tomorrow.
So far, I've got:
1. Molds
2. Bacchus
3. FishHooks
4. Fab
I am interested on doing the March Madness brackets. I don't watch any college basketball so I will be shooting into the wind based on name recognition, seeding, and random gut feelings.

Don't forget jersey colors.
I would play guys...but I would pick my UK team to win it all and I'd jinx them and plus I'm depressed right now...freaking Vanderbilt.
That was a great game! So glad Vandy pulled it out though. If I can't root for one Tennessee team, I may as well root for the other ;)

I'm happy for the Vandy nerds, too...but UK won 2 out of 3 against those guys.. it was just that our legs weren't underneath us today..the Florida marathon game for UK yesterday made sure of that.
