For those asking about semifinal interviews:
If you went to an open call, only those asked to stay behind and fill out the lenghty 60pg application are still in the running. If they said "we will contact you by 10pm tonight" it doesn't matter. They are just being polite.
If you got picked to fill out the long app, they WILL call you by 10-11 that same night (mine was closer to 11 last season) because your next interview will be the following day, normally at a hotel. This interview would be considered the quarter-final interview.
After your quarter-final interview (depending on how far they are into the city-to-city open calls) they will contact you if you made the semifinals. It took over a month after my quarter-final interview for them to call me, because I went to one of the first cities they had castings at. It was about 1 week after their final audition city that that happened.
The key: be patient.
For all the newbies asking generic questions, just read this. Its anything and everything you could possibly think of.
So have they started casting for season 27 yet? I'm waiting for them to give me a reply.
If you haven't gotten a reply by now, you're probably out.
Some semi-finals interviews took place over the past 2 weeks. They should be letting the finalist know that they are going to California between this past weekend and next week. They will be doing final rounds in LA over the next 2 to 3 weeks. I say filming will start late January. No idea where it is but from what I am hearing it could be Chicago. Everything I have stated is true, except for the location which is speculation.
Wow, thats crazy. Another season is almost underway. I just find it funny and weird at the same time that if they send them to a location for final round that it would be strange if they thought they were on the show only to have a final interview.

They are very clear on if you made it to the finals or if you are actually selected as one of the cast members for the next season. No confusion here.
Accidentally posted about this in another thread...but it should have gone here. My apologies.
So, my friend made a video about how to get cast on the real world. He went through the casting process pretty far a couple years ago but didn't end up making it. This video is hilarious and everyone needs to see it...now :)

They are long overdue casting an actual thick girl, I think the last real one they casted was on the first season and that's about it. As we all seen on BGC, the thick girls sure love to bring the drama. (IMO)

You think your friend is hilarious? OK, you and I have very different standards. Liked the cat, though.

How do you know this for sure?
I can independently confirm that the casting finals have been taking place over the last week.
Did you make the cut, Molds13, or did they pass you over again :to_babruysk:

When I was in my final round of interviews, they told me they were going in a different direction.
I responded with this.

A quote from the article"...zeitgeist of young people,” said Sasha Alpert, senior vice president of casting at Bunim/Murray.."
I love it when the fine people at BMP feign intellectualism. Were it only true, and were it ever displayed in a single one of their finished products. In truth, they offer nothing but pandering to the broadest stereotyping of their perceived audience.
