Meaning if they have rights to misrepresent people why have a age range to be on the show and most of them don’t really have good stories to misrepresent? They have people what’s was 25-26 at a the casting call wow I am surprise they allow them to try out. The casting call I went to it was some people that was 25-26 and they say they couldn’t try out
And did those 25-26 year olds ever make it onto the show? No.
And did those 25-26 year olds ever make it onto the show? No.
Well that's because they weren't allowed to try out...at least, if I'm reading powerup's post correctly (it is a bit confusing)
Well that's because they weren't allowed to try out...at least, if I'm reading powerup's post correctly (it is a bit confusing)
Leroy was 25 when the Vegas season filmed. He just appears and was portrayed to be 24.
So they changed it to 20 years old. This should be an interesting casting process then. I can't wait for it. I agree with you Npresh24. They might as well change it to 21.
I think the reason they left it 20 is that everyone has their 21st birthday sometime. By having casting calls open to 20 year olds, it saves them from missing someone good that would be 21 by the time filming begins or sometime during.
Just wondering: are you more likely to get on by sending a tape in, or by going to an open audition? I noticed a lot of the Vegas cast made tapes.
Just wondering: are you more likely to get on by sending a tape in, or by going to an open audition? I noticed a lot of the Vegas cast made tapes.
During a certain point in the casting process, everyone is required to send in a tape.
There are 7 new casting calls, Here is the site Real World Casting
I find it weird that they changed the age limit. I think some great Real Worlders have been 19! Julie RWNY, Elka RWB, Colin RWH, Cameran RWSD, Wes RWA, Svetlana RWKW, Trisha RWSyd, and Priscilla looks to be another. I mean, yes, there are a lot of other great cast members that are 20+ but I think 18, 19 is a good dynamic to the show... or it has been in the past. Personally, I would like to see RW go back to the 7 strangers that are using the show as a means to further themselves in life because I can watch 20-somethings drink and have *** on any cable channel now-a-days. The Real World pioneered what we know as Reality TV, but now it has nothing special holding it up against all these other shows. It would be hard to go back because it has such a bad reputation with older generations now. Could this casting change be for this current season because the location they are scouting is in the US. I would imagine that they would cast interesting 18, 19 year olds if they were going out of the country because they can drink legally there. I think this change has a lot to do with the drinking thing, which is sad because RW was not made to be a show notorious for partying....

I agree but sadly RW is now a platform for the Challenges and will always have a little party sprinkled in the mix we could blame the viewer's since most people now think Denver and Cancun were the best seasons .

I definitely think that they didn't work and were pretty boring, but I find older seasons that have the same idea as Brooklyn and DC to be entertaining. Another thing I do not like about new RW. I don't think the challenges are that great. I liked them from BOTSeasons until Gauntlet 2. Now it is boring to me. What a joke! I wish MTV was able to show old seasons of the RW so people could see how good they were! I mean, with Back 2 SD starting they should at least show RW14... but they never would!

It was so irritating seeing as DC and Hollywood had no in house jobs and they just kinda sat around and decided to do something at the very end. The older seasons were more genuine and there were real emotions. Everything now seems forced even in the challenges.
Went to the casting call in Austin, Texas this morning for my first time ever. I was really shocked on how few people were there. But I unfortunatly didn't get held back like 3 other people did in my group so will pray for a phone call highly unlikely. What me and some guys I met there noticed all three of the people held back had some type of family death or illness issue at some point in their life. The girls father died when she was young and she she got really emotional on how she never got to get to know him. One of the guys mom was in a bad accident and could'nt care for herself so he was taking care of her and himself. The third guy I don't remember.

But for what it's worth one of the guys who did get held back told me they didn't say anything to him about another interview just to fill out that 20 page application. Just like she told everyone if you don't get a call by 10 or 10:30 you didn't move on. At least the Hooter girls there looks great and the food was amazing.
Okay guys, I just made this tape and put it on youtube. Do you think I am the type of girl they're looking for or do you think I may have come across too crazy? Honest opinions xoxo. Not just crazy...extremely obnoxious, maybe an alcoholic. No, you will not be the girl they are looking for, and I can give you at least a few reasons why. It's very poorly put together. The first 30 seconds or so, the video should a) not be in front of a mirror and b) not sideways. We never see your face up close. We see a lot of videos of you drinking from a distance. A lot of people can appear 20-24 from a distance until you get up close. The one time someone even got close, you told them "no closeups!" How are you going to be able to handle a camera in your face, up close, for 3 months? You never once mention your name (I highly doubt Lolo is your real name...), age (I can tell you're either 21 or own a fake), or where you're from (although I pieced the last one together from the few "WHOOOOOOOOOOOO PARTY IN NASHVILLEEEEEEEEEEEE"s that you threw out that you are from that area or have at least spent a day there). Are you originally from Nashville? Your lack of an accent doesn't sound like it. You must be a transplant. Based on your screen name "ocprincess", I'm guessing somewhere in southern California. Laguna Beach area, perhaps? Huntington? Newport? DON'T MAKE ME GUESS. That type of stuff is usually thrown out in the first 10 seconds of a casting tape. You are extremely one-dimensional. Believe it or not, BMP is actually looking for people with depth, not just people who get ****faced, make out with people of the same ***, and get drunk every night of the week because they have no job or future plans. You mention nothing of a family (or lack there of), what you do (or want to do), any tough times (or lack there of) that you have been through, what you like to do in your spare time (besides drink), or anything even close to that. Do you have any pets? I see you have tattoos...what do they mean to you? I see you have fake ***** and a fake tan...why are you not ok with your body as it is? Why do you drink so much? What is something remotely interesting about you? They don't want to see someone do nothing but party for almost five minutes. They want to hear your story. What sets you apart from everyone else? You can't carry a season if you do nothing but drink (unless your "story" is that you're a fledgling alcoholic with fake ***** who may need treatment but would first like to live in paradise for three months to terrorize her roommates). Check this out: Real World Casting Tape Tips. I recommend redoing your entire tape save for maybe one or two (extremely short - ~5 second) clips of you drinking with your friends. Go look at some of the tapes from people who've actually been on the show. Adam and Heather M from the LV season both have their casting tapes on YouTube somewhere. I've seen a lot of casting tapes in my time, but wow...that was difficult to sit through. I'm not sure post-production crews could sit through 3 months of tape with your voice on it. They probably would have turned it off in the first 15 seconds. Also: shots of Aftershock do not require a pre- or post-chaser. I would have expected better from someone who appears to do absolutely nothing but spend her daddy's money to get tanked every day.

You need to sit down and tell them a story like about how you were raised, how it's impacted your life, and what (if any) adversity you've ever had to overcome & what makes you YOU...I'm sure they want to hear more about that than about how much you like to party.

I think it's kind of dumb for them not to make video uploads available, or e-mail them a video, or even a YouTube channel dedicated so people can upload their videos. Facebook should also be a tool they use to cast people. I feel VHS is SO dated! I know a lot of people, me included, that would love to audition, but find it annoying to use such an old format. I guess my best option is to sit in front of my webcam, record myself for 5 minutes, and burn it on a DVD, and wait for them to receive it by mail. They need to update on how they cast people.

There were so many inconsisties to the video but you pretty much pointed it out. The video was just horrible. Also it's also good advice to know what not to put in the video. You're opinion at least showed me hints of what to put in my rw casting vid.
I am just asking have you ever try out for the real world if not why?
No I have never tried out for the Real World. I have bigger aspirations than being on television and potentially making a complete fool of myself on national television. I'd like to get a good job after finishing school and I don't personally think that being on the Real World is helpful for achieving that goal.
