LOL. Should be Not Suitable for Human Eyes (NSFHE)
In honor of Zach and Ashley, I wanted compose a list of The Real World's most boring cast members. Who do you think was literally a waste of space that added nothing to the show? My top 25 are as follows:
25. Alex (RW 18 Denver)
24. Pam (RW 3 San Francisco)- Yes, she's a great person but a snooze-fest for reality tv
23. Shauvon (RW 19 Sydney)- Sloppy blonde with nothing to add but *****
22. Sarah (RW 20 Hollywood)
21. Justin (RW 8 Hawaii)- Didn't get him nor why he was cast
20. Zach (RW 26 San Deigo)- Nice to look at... but that's about it
19. Chris (RW 11 Chicago)
18. Sarah (RW 5 Miami)
17. Josh (RW 23 DC)- He couldn't sing & he's a cheater... so what?
16. Mohammad (RW 3 San Francisco)- Another one I just didn't get
15. Irene (RW 2 Los Angeles)- Feisty attitude but she was engaged. She didn't bring much to the table in my eyes.
14. Nick (RW 20 Hollywood)- I feel bad for putting him on this list considering he had a horrible thing happen to him in Hollywood but if it wasn't for that, would he have gotten a storyline?
13. Cj (RW 22 Cancun)- Just like Zach but less confrontational, even if you count the Ayiiia incident. Wallpaper nonetheless
12. Matt (RW 8 Hawaii)
11. Lacey (RW 16 Austin)
10. Eric (RW 24 New Orleans)
9. Kat (RW 4 London)
8. Christina (RW 13 Paris)- Was her appeal just cause she was hot and a stripper? Or "Vegas cocktail waitress"
7. Rebecca (RW 7 Seattle)
6. Jose (RW 17 Key West)- Was he ever involved?
5. Ashlee (RW 24 New Orleans)- NO STORYLINE AT ALL
4. Derek (RW 22 Cancun)- Most boring gay man to ever be on the show
3. Ashley (RW 26 San Diego)- Let's pray SOMETHING is coming up for her!
2. Baya (RW 21 Brooklyn)- Cute girl but very blah.
1. Charlie (RW 14 San Diego)- Most boring replacement and most boring cast member. If Cameran hadn't broke his guitar, I don't know what he would have been remembered for. (If remembered at all)

I disagree with these two
Shauvon added something to Sydney not so much the challenges, and San Diego 1 was subject to 1 month worth of filming being lost,So most of Charlie was left on the cutting room floor.Jose Vs Janelle(That is all)lol.Emilee should switch with Shauvon.
lol I like^ But it think Devyn should be in there too. and Josh was waaaaayyy more boring than Beya. top 5 at least lol
I'd say Devyn was way more boring than Baya. I know nobody will agree with me, but I'd put Heather Marter on the list somewhere. She was in the middle of Dustin drama but we learned absolutely nothing about her at all the entire season except that she seems to have double-standards when it comes to homosexuality.

I completely agree,I was like when is she going to do something than The Dustin drama came and she still showed little to no personality.
True, I guess it wasn't Charlie's fault. I definitely remember that incident. I was actually going to put Devyn but I had 26 people and decided to take her out out of everyone. I totally forgot Heather Marter. I think I just decided not to add anyone from a season that was alltogether great. San Diego 1 was great but Charlie got the bad end of the stick, Las Vegas 1 & 2 were awesome seasons, New Orleans 1 will always be my favorite, thus I didn't put anyone from there either. I've also always had a soft spot for Boston and didn't really find anyone boring on that one either.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one,How do you feel about New Orleans 2? I can't at that season.
Because of the sexual assault charges
How did they lose a month over that? I thought it was supposed to have been a non-resident 1-time party guest that had nothing to do with the cast or production from what I vaguely recall.
I'd add Priscilla, Heather M., Glen (LA - replaced David), Jacinda (London), Zach (Key West), and i thought Brittini was more boring than Sarah in HW.
I think Jacinda was probably one of the more interesting people on her season. Glen wasn't that boring and Zach, I feel, did a lot with the whole supporting Svetlana and adding his two cents in. He also was funny and had charming commentary. I could have made a top 30 or 35 list and I'm sure they would have been on there, haha.

A 22-year-old woman claimed she was raped in the Real World house sometime during the night of November 14, 2003 by an acquaintance of Real World cast member Randy Barry, identified in local reports as "Justin", who was staying at the house as a guest. The woman claimed the man bought her a drink at a downtown San Diego nightspot, and that she blacked out after drinking it. According to cast member Jamie Chung, a member of production staff said that the young woman was found lying naked on the bathroom floor of the Real World house as Justin emerged, saying, "I just hit that." That person then dressed the woman and moved her to the living room couch, where Chung, upon arriving home on the morning of November 15, found her. Chung then helped that other person move the woman to the downstairs guest bedroom. Chung and the camera crew woke the woman at 10:30a.m. while cameras were rolling. Chung told the woman that she may have been sexually assaulted in the bathroom during the night, but the woman, according to Chung, appeared disoriented and had difficulty speaking. With the woman's help, Chung contacted a male friend of hers and arranged for her transportation home. Feeling pain in her genital region, the woman reported the incident to police on November 16, and a subsequent medical examination revealed abrasions to both her ****** and ****. According to police, the woman believes her assailant drugged her, brought her back to the Real World house and then while she was unconscious, raped her in the bathroom, since that is the only place in the house where the show's cameras are off-limits.
Another cast member told police that he had seen the woman barely able to stand up in the bathroom, mumbling incoherently and looking confused, according to the search warrant.
The police sexual assault unit began investigating the next day, November 17, but the Real World cast and crew had left on the cast's group trip to Mexico, and all film from November 14 and 15 had been shipped from the house to the production headquarters in Los Angeles. Kevin Lee, the on-site producer of show, told police he had not viewed the footage but that, after talking to the cast, believed the woman might have been raped, and confirmed that Justin was resident in the house at the time of the alleged assault. Why this did not motivate him to look at the film or to use the on-site film-editing computer to review the incident is unknown. Lee agreed to supply the police with the consent forms and photo ID cards that listed who was in the house at the time of the incident, and gave them a tour of the house, allowing them to search the bathroom for evidence.
At the end of the tour, however, Lee received a phone call from Pam Naughton, an attorney representing Bunim-Murray Productions, which produces the show. Naughton refused to permit the police to search the bedrooms and stated that the producers would not turn over any documents or film until she personally reviewed them. The police then obtained a search warrant, and raided the house, confiscating the film-editing computer, the cast's e-mail computer, bedding, towels, videotapes and other possible items of evidence. After examining hours of footage taped for the show, and seizing evidence at the scene, police made no arrests, and the San Diego County District Attorney's office concluded there was not enough evidence to warrant any charges.
Nearly a month of footage from the season ended up on the cutting room floor due to the allegation. While Charlie Dordevich only appears in three episodes, he lived in the house almost as long as Frankie, who appeared in the first 23 episodes

I don't know the details, but you can google it if you want "proof". I can't remember if they just CUT a month of footage, or if they moved out a month early
I liked Denver Alex, he's one of the few ppl on these shows that I could see myself hanging out with in real life...
And that love triangle with him and Colie was fun as **** to watch, and I think that "hey!" tattoo of his is hilarious

Just to discuss some of those listed, not completely sure on some level with at least Irene, Pam, the Sarah, Alex, and Zach. The fact that Irene left in dramatic fashion was a big part of that season. I guess if that hadn't happened, I'd agree. Pam added to her season by being driven and being shown pursuing her career. I think the show was meant to be a lot about that in the earliest years. Miami Sarah was like a big kid who marched to the beat of her own drummer, and I at least found her interesting. I think she probably just did her own thing and wasn't around much because of it. But she helped create friction with Flora when she let those kids hang out at the house, too. Hollywood Sarah - OK, I guess I'll give you that one , but though she had obnoxious moments, I thought she was a contrast to the rest of the cast. She had her share in the drama a bit, though. Alex had part in the triangle as Dash mentioned. Zach, though he is probably as unlikeable as everyone is saying (I'm keeping up through posts and comments), has a lot of people talking about him. Even though it is mostly negative, he is providing something for this season.
Let's see, um, even though I enjoyed Back to New York, Kevin came across as kind of dull. His back story of beating cancer is good, but it didn't really equate to the actual show. The flirtation with Lori was brief and he didn't really like her like that anyway. He did have an argument with Nicole, but it was an extension of the argument with Malik, really.
I was going to put Kevin but the way he put Nichole in her place was priceless.
Geez, MTV people are all up in TMZ's business today. There was another article about how Kevin Connolly thought Bananas' lawsuit was ridiculous.

I actually mentioned him first.
Oh my, what a shame! I'll take "he was dull on RW Kevin" over "allegedly drunk driving Kevin" any day. I'm sad to hear this. Not someone I expected to read a TMZ story about. I didn't know he is an anchor for an ESPN network, though. I remember he was working in radio in the past. On another note, he's aged well it seems.
Let's hope we don't hear anything else bad about any cast members associated with these shows for a long time.
I wonder how much the original contract for RW differs from the one they use today. I'm sure it would be interesting to see how different or similar they really are.
Personally, although I know it's not gonna happen, I wish the Real World could go back to the original format. I'm one of the long-term viewers who's been watching since the first season, when I was way too young to relate to any of the cast. Now I'm too old to relate to most of them, and I know I'm clearly not the target audience.
For me the most interesting thing about the show was seeing different types of people. Before everyone used the Internet, for some of us TV was the only place you could learn about the lives of people of other races, religions, ***ual orientations, or people from different areas of the country. I was interested in seeing what these people's lives were like, back when most of them had careers, or at least some sort of job, and they interacted with friends and other people in the community, not just other cast members. And it was interesting to see them interact with each other, because they would talk about their differences.
I think it's great that on recent seasons there are mostly no conflicts based on race, culture, religion, ***uality, etc (although this season we're seeing it with Zach/Frank/Sam). But I wish they found something to do or talk about besides drinking and *** and fighting about (usually) petty things.
For example, I'd be much more interested in seeing what Leroy's daily life as a garbage man in Michigan was like rather than what he would do when treated as a VIP in Vegas, because obviously in Vegas he's going to party (just like most people his age would if put into that position). Or this season I'm really interested in Alexandra's life story, which has barely been discussed, but I am not at all interested in watching her and her boyfriend talk about how the distance and the show is harming their relationship. This is why I find "True Life" to be much more compelling, because people's daily lives are shown, and one issue is dealt with in depth. It's more of a true documentary style.
I keep watching the Real World almost out of habit, but I will probably stop soon (usually it's reading spoilers here that gets me interested enough to watch the new season every time I think I'm done). When I see a cast member like Mike in Vegas (and on Rivals) show an interest in anything other than drinking or ***, and all his college-educated roommates react like "OMG, what are you talking about, nerd? You use big words. I don't get it lololol!" I get really frustrated.
I know there's no way the show will change, because the things I'd like to see are not necessarily the things that pull in a big audience. Plus, the expectations of the cast members have changed over the years. But I'm hoping soon enough there will be some sort of backlash against the style of reality TV that's on now. To me it's becoming all the same: people fighting about nothing, just in different contexts (like the Real Housewives, or Basketball Wives, etc.). I like mindless entertainment every once in a while, but that's all that's available on TV these days.
Beatrice, I agree with your sentiments but I think profit margin calculations have taken priority over quality so I doubt we will see anything change.
Yeah, I hear you. I'm just hoping maybe the audience will eventually get bored with the same stuff and that will lead to some changes in the right direction. Wishful thinking, I know.
I pray we get season 27 and 28 spread out.
This is the list of Fan Favorite seasons not including 20+
1.Austin
2.Las Vegas
3.San Diego
4.Sydney
5.Hawaii
6.Denver
7.New Orleans
8.San Fransico
9.Key West
10.Seattle
Although Austin-Sydney being on the list is utterly disguisting,i know they will not go to back to any of these locations. If there going based of this list ,which I hope not! I could see Austin or Hawaii being next although I'm still gunning for Chicago.
