I think it's the mixture of new format and some fresh faces that gets people exited. At least for me anyways, The Duel, Cutthroat, and Rivals were all really good. D2, FM2, I3, G3 weren't so good. The Ruins could've been amazing if they made the format reasonable, People who win vs people who lose, i wonder who's gonna win that challenge... haha But it had a great cast though.
That's not necessarily true, it's all about the individual personalities and what they are like on the challenge. Jasmine and Jonna were my least favorite Cancun girls, i muted the tv everytime they came on lol. So by your logic i should've hated seeing them on Rivals but quite the contrary. They were my favorite girls team. Whereas my Cancun favorites Ayiiia, Derek, and Emilee were irrelevant on Cutthroat. I really don't care to see them on any other challenge.
I agree with the old schoolers though, that's why i think they should cast a challenge with a mixture of newbies (2 challenges or less) and oldies (Appeared on pre-fresh meat challenges). That would be an interesting mix imo.
I agree, I really enjoyed The Duel, Cutthroat and Rivals. It probably is a mix of format and cast.
That's true, hadn't really thought of that but you are right, people can be really annoying to viewers on RW and not the Challenge, and vice versa.
I have zero interest in a Duel with no vets. I want to see powerhouses up against powerhouses. There has been so much debate about who the best players of all time are, and one of the best ways to put some of those arguments to rest would be to have a stacked Duel cast. If they continue with the format in which the last player picked gets to choose their opponent, then I want it to be a difficult decision every single time. No easy way out for anyone. Arranging a Duel for just rookies would be a waste of an opportunity as far as I am concerned, especially if the next season ends up being the last. I wouldn't mind a mostly rookies cast if it was a team challenge, though.
What I meant was no JEK, Paula, or Jenn they've been tapped out. My thought for a challenge is like they did for the Duel 1 where the biggest names were CT and Derrick the rest were generally new kids who have yet to shine on a challenge, which is why it was the most watched season ever.

I would love this concept because it brings in the addition of the old cast all together where they used to play the game straight up, this puts them against the 'new' way of playing the game. A real twist would be putting Derrick on the New School team replacing Tyler or Dunbar and having someone like Mark go on the Old School team.
I think the Duel 1 would have been a highly rated season regardless of who was cast because it was a brand new concept and many viewers, including myself, had been itching for an "every man for himself" game for a long time. I wouldn't have minded if the Duel 2 was all rookies. But, I am talking about the Duel 3 with the assumption that it may very well be the last challenge we ever see. I would feel gypped if half the cast was rookies. I can't think of a more unsatisfying way for the challenges to come to an end than to be denied a stacked Duel 3.

Derrick can't the new school team if Landon's on the old school one considering Landon's season followed Derrick's.

And his first season was at the same time as Brad & Robin's season. And Jodi was on RR with Derrick too.
I think a really good Oldies vs Newbies challenge cast would be:
Mark
Theo V
Adam L.
Shane
Abram
CT
Coral
Rachel
Katie
Kendell
Aneesa
Genesis
Frank - SD
Leroy
Nate
Ty
Knight
Dustin
Cooke
Emily
Jonna
Jemmye
Ashlee
Ashley - DC
Got a lot of fan favorite oldies and some fresh new faces who were fairly popular on their seasons. Great mixture of drama and competition. And it gives a decent chance for some of these newbies to shine on a team of their own. There's no one to follow after and there's no one to be intimidated. It'll give some new rivals, alliances, and top dogs, to shine. And the oldies team are true old dogs, and a lot of them are cast members who we haven't seen in a while. So it'll be interesting to see how they'll do with these new types of challenges and how they'll blend with these new people who they, for the most part, probably have never even met yet.

Lol, i don't think the game was every played straight up on any season.
Lol, i don't think the game was every played straight up on any season.
Heh true but it wasnt anywhere close to the BS that happens in today's challenges.
Also, Im aware that Derrick joined around the same time as Landon but I guess I just included the possibility of him being on the New School team since he has been apart of the alliances in the recent 'alliance era'

The guys team on Battle of the Sexes 1 are probably the only team that has.

To an extent, it wasn't as obvious and dramatic as it is now, but they did screw some people over, mainly the rookies. So it's never 'best man wins' on any of these challenges is what im saying.

Or did you mean BOTSeasons? I think that guys team is the only exception. I'm not sure about the earlier challenges( 2000, Extreme). BOTSeasons was as far back as i went with the challenges.
No Battle of the Sexes 1 was fair, you're thinking of Battle of the Sexes 2 when some rookies got shafted. BOTS1 was fair for the guys since they went with the point system every time.

Oh yea you're right. The girls were a sh*tfest though lol, you'd think the BOTS2 girls would've learned from the first season haha.
Hey guys. Been reading these forums for almost a year now and decided to finally join the community!
With this in mind I think it would be a good time to introduce a new format to the Challenge series. Like a Inferno/Cutthroat mix in a sense where theere are 3 teams. The winning team is safe from then "Gulag", and the losing teams nominate someone from the other losing team to go into the "gulag" and then like Inferno The three teams battle it out for a life shield. This can then be given to anyone in the game from whoever wins it. If the life shield is won by the team who won the challenge that day (safe from gulag) the winning team gets to vote on the replacement. If the life shield is won by the team that has a player in the Gulag the team votes on whether or not to use the life shield and if used, the team that holds the Lifeshield votes a replacement from their team into the gulag in the saved persons place. The teams are prepicked and distributed as evenly as possible.
Teams can be as followed for the guys: (Trying to be as fair as possible)
Team Blue
CT
Johnny
Wes
Brad
Ryan
Eric
Noor
Leroy
Team Red
Evan
Abram
Landon
Darrell
Davis
Tyrie
Cohutta
Frank
Team Green
Kenny
Derrick
Alton
Tyler
Mikemike
Danny
Adam K
Pete
An every man/woman for themselves challenge. No partners no teams. Maybe a inner circle top 3 kinda set up with score boards like bots or something. Several cast members who havent been on in a few such has Mark and Darrell have said they would do a individual challenge where you hold your own fate.

Though this has no chance of happening I would love to see a Battle of the Sexes with Ev, Laurel, Emily and Cooke representing the girls. I really think they'd have an awesome chance of beating the boys.
Call me crazy, but i'm getting tired of pairs. It always involves alliances and its not any fun when JEK rule the challenge to be honest. I am also not a huge fan of two teams either, because then its always just one or the other. I loved Cutthroat's format of three teams.
I feel like Battle of the Seasons would not be too difficult. Give it a "Fresh Meat" format (meaning every team for itself and only one season wins the whole thing). I don't feel they'd have a hard time getting 14 seasons to have one guy and one girl.

The original Battle of the Season was the first challenge I ever saw, and it remains my favorite challenge of all time today. I would love to see another one, even with the changes you mentioned. I think the real question is which seasons do you want to see and who should be on each team?

Trying to keep it as realistic as possible - meaning I'm not picking cast members who have zero interest in challenges (of what I'm aware):
1. Real World Austin - Wes & Melinda
2. Real World Key West - Johnny & Paula
3. Real World Sydney - Dunbar & KellyAnne
4. Real World Brooklyn - Chet & Sarah
5. Real World Cancun - CJ & Jonna
6. Real World DC - Ty & Emily
7. Real World New Orleans - Knight & Jemmye
8. Real World Las Vegas - Leroy & Cooke
9. Real World San Diego - any of the new kids (maybe Frank & Sam?)
10. Road Rules Campus Crawl - Darrell & Kendal (isn't Kendal interested still?)
11. Road Rules South Pacific - Abram & Tina (not sure if Tina is still interested, but after Cutthroat I wouldn't be surprised)
12. Road Rules X-Treme - Derrick & Jillian
13. Fresh Meat 1 - Kenny & Evelyn
14. Fresh Meat 2 - Brandon & Laurel
Boom. Let's do it :)
