If you've been keeping up, it seems to be because he basically messed up the experience for the challengers themselves and changed the direction of the challenges it would seem. It is under his "rule" that the challengers are trapped in the house unable to peek into the outside world and the challenges became ridiculously strenuous. Plus apparently, the challengers are not treated nicely.
I'd disagree with your second point; anyone who watched Gauntlet 2 would know why. It's all about the balance, although I did hate ruins.

I agree with this. Most challenges this time around were so wack. What the heck was that car crashing challenge? And the one with the hoses? Lame. My all time favorite challenge was the bottle neck stampede one from cutthroat.

Interesting. I have wonder myself why the fun was taken away from the challengers and now I have a name to put to that.
As far as my opinion goes, I definitely believe in it. I think there is a real distinction between veterans and rookies and probably seven times out of ten the vets will come out on top baring a fluke. They are far better prepared to play the game at hand. I'm really not interested in seeing one team steam roll another into oblivion.
The only chance the rookies have would be if they had monster competitors but that is rarely found on a rookie team.
I really hope they do a Duel 3 and have a totally fresh cast no vets like JEK, Wes, and Paula. They should do what they did for the Duel 1 and very little big name vets because in Duel 1 the biggest names were CT, Derrick, Tina, and Beth. The rest of the cast was "newbies" who now have a shot to run a challenge and what happened The Duel 1 was the most watched season ever. So what they should do is have a fresh and fun cast to capitalize on the Rivals success.
I definitely hope to see a less physically demanding final for the next season if it's teams based. A final in The Gauntlet 3 & inferno 2/3 mold is plenty tough for former RW/RR/FM people, BM is not dealing with triathletes here. The Rivals final went too far IMO.

It's gotten too predictable and really has taken the fun out of the challenges because it's less about the social drama since the physically weaker cast mates never really stand a chance. Ice block melting, eating ice cream, dunking in ice cold water, and changing out of clothes on a balance beam were great because it was always a tossup. More collaborative puzzles involving teamwork please! Old school challenges > Booth's stuff.

I agree they need to tone down these challenges. Make it more of an even playing field so that the people who aren't Bodybuilders/athletes actually stand a chance.

Kenny already did that on Fresh Meat 2 and he almost did win. Even though I can't stand Johnny, I'd like to see him on a Duel 3 since he's the only main member that alliance who's never done a challenge where he didn't have at least 1 of his boys there to insulate him and help him control the game. Evan won Duel 2 without any of them and like I said, Kenny did FM2 without any of them so it's up to Johnny to put up or shut up (I personally vote for shut up). If it does turn out to be Duel 3, I have my doubts as to whether he'd agree to do it even IF some of his minions are there because he has to know he'll have a target on his back, either because of his obnoxious personality or the fact that he's now won 3 challenges and is considered a threat.
I'd like to see one of two things happen for the next season. If they go with a Duel, I think they should try everything in their power to get 24-28 fan favorites. Not really new people (maybe a couple from later seasons) but people who are going to bring in the ratings to maybe get it picked up for a longer stretch of seasons. If not, I think it should be a Gauntlet (with a non crazily stacked Vet team) so that we're guaranteed 14ish newer people and that a few of them make it to the end.

Neither Kenny nor Evan were in Cutthroat, although you could make a case for Derrick being one of his boys.

I agree. I think the best band of Rookie guys production could assemble would be something like Leroy, Pete, Noor, Knight, Zach (SD2), CJ, Scott, and Isaac or something to that extent. Guys that have done less than 2 challenges, but are still big athletic guys.
Of coarse the Vets are gonna win if they have CT, Evan, Kenny, Johnny, Mark, Landon, Derrick, and Darrell against Ryan (NO), Adam R., Dustin, Noor, Pete, Frank (SD2), Leroy, and Michael. But if its the 8 rookies guys from above, then it'd be more of a competitive season.
I come on vevmo to ***** about how I didn't understand that MTV could start that new show “Death valley”, which looks like ****, and not The Challenge … and then I see this.

I liked this cast, they definitely brought a lot of drama and helped in getting the challenge renewed (along with the Rivals format), but I hope the new cast has Leroy, Dustin, Cooke, Eric, Brandon Jemmye, Emilee, Jonna, Jasmine, Sidney, Noor, Sandy, Chet.
No more Theresa, Mandi, Jenn, Wes, Tyrie, Davis, Robin, Dunbar, etc
And like most of us, I want a Duel 3, with mostly individual, not paired challenges, the only thing is I want 3 ppl in the finals because it’s much more entertaining to watch 6 ppl in a race than 4.
Let’s just hope there’s dailies next season !

This number of teams considering it's ten episodes, one elimination at the end of the first nine episodes and four teams in the final.
For the 14th pair I've chosen RR X-Treme or RW Hollywood, because I'm unsure of the status of both Ibis and Kim (same goes for all other women from X-Treme and Hollywood) - alternatively one could try for an earlier RW season or leave the fourteenth pair out, resulting in a to be continued 9th episode or just three teams in the final.
I think this would be the ideal format for the next season - not too many Fresh Meat people, some "interesting" match-ups, and a lot of competitors from newer RW seasons. Apart from that the Battle of the Seasons format has a bizarrely charming appeal, at least to me.
Regarding the voting system for elimination: the worst performing team goes in automatically - the second team is determined by the three best-performing teams of the day, but each partner has a vote [six votes altogether], if it's tied, the worst performing team gets to choose its own opponent.
