Which is where the **** talking should stay, why would he want to make his partner feel like **** during the challenge? Obviously that's not going to motivate him so its better to vent in the confessionals, besides it's not like Kenny didn't know that Wes thought he sucked. So I doubt he was shocked when he watched it later.
That's what everyone calls a coward.
That's what everyone calls a coward.
Isnt a coward some one who is too scared to say it to his face? Wes/Kenny throw insults all the time, so I dont think he'll get scared now, in a competion the smart thing to do is try to motivate your partner everyone knows saying you sucked tonight wasnt going to solve anything. And I didnt expect Wes to be thrilled about how Kenny was so useless in that jungle so when they ask him how he feels about Kenny's performance *** do you expect?
I'm also watching Leroy's Ustream thing and he said that Kenny carried the rock basically the whole time, did almost all of the wheelbarrowing and Wes ******* and moaned the entire final.
I'm not going to get caught up in this neverending Wes vs. Kenny debate and as much as I like Leroy, can I ask how he could have known anything that was going on with Wes and Kenny during the final? It looked like he and Mike were rarely even within shouting distance of them. He's probably just repeating what other people said. There were other people who had more contact with Kenny and Wes during the whole final and I'm more inclined to believe their assessment of the situation. I think everyone did a great job in the final (except Jenn, who has now inherited the Susan Lucci role from Paula). As much as I truly despise Johnny, I'll even say congratulations to him on the victory.
Does anyone know how much the rock weighed? Also, I like how Kenny keeps calling Wes 'buddy'!!!!
I have a huge habbit of saying that to EVERYBODY. Maybe it's a New Jersey thing? :pardon:
I would have loved seeing Mike, Leroy, Cara & (God help me) Laurel win. A wes/kenny dq would have made this episode even better, but I must say, these last few weeks have definitely wetted my appetite for more challenges.
That final challenge was outrageously hard and strenuous. One of these days they're gonna pull a Cash Cab and someone is gonna wind up paying the ultimate price on one of these challenges
I have a huge habbit of saying that to EVERYBODY. Maybe it's a New Jersey thing? :pardon:
haha maybe that's it. It is definitely better than calling Wes stupid though. As tough as it is, I personally think staying positive can really help. Although I realize it doesn't work with everyone. They all got their homing devices near the same time, it looks really neck and neck!! Five minutes 'til the end!!! Go Ev and Paula!!!
I really enjoyed this season. The concept was incredible, the possible story lines, amazing. My one major problem with the season was the challenges themselves. I am so so tired of these water challenges. For some reason, B&M has been obsessed with them lately. Timed water challenges are boring and lame. We need more head to head competitions. On top of that, every challenge should have revolved around teamwork. They should have been about rivals coming together. The helicopter thing required ZERO teamwork. The water hose challenge was weak and required minimal team work. The rope climbing elimination was bull **** because only half the team had to do it. Both teammates should have had to compete to stay in the game, not one person. They really need to step the challenges up. I liked what they did with cutthroat ,we need more competitions like those. Beyond the challenges though, this season was great. The final was the best I have probably seen. Tyler has become one of the best competitors on these shows. Wes... he has fallen off. I think he might have put on too much muscle or something. Duel 1 and Fresh Meat Wes was far better when it came to endurance.
Also, maybe it was just a great edit but Paula looked like a trooper in this thing. She was always trucking when they showed her. She and Ev looked untouchable.
Am i the only that was impressed by wes toughness in this final? Wes knees gave out on him, he was dehydrated, plus the fact he had a ****** partner and kept going no matter what. We have seen others quit, but wes kept trucking. The fact of the matter is a muscular body like wes is not meant for long marathons like this. The bigger a person body the more weight they have to carry on their joint. This is the main reason why you rarely if ever see strong muscular types win marathons. I do find that who gps key finder to be stupid and unnecessary.

Is that why Johnny's body (which is bigger than Wes') ******* out? Wes was sucking major wind because of his steroid usage. His body was trained to just be physically strong.
This was a good final. Ridiculously grueling but it tested the competitors. I think they should tone it down though, so it is more of a race and less about outlasting the weaker competitors. Two teams having to quit/get DQed was a bit much. Tyler was ******* impressive. The dude was as sick as Jenn and he was no slouch by any means. Johnny was Johnny. For all his ****-talking, he comes to these things as prepared as anybody. Kenny was an absolute beast, though at the end sounding off on Wes was a bit much. Reading this thread, the Wes apologists are almost as butt-hurt towards Kenny as Wes himself was at the end of the final. While Kenny could have chosen his words better and been more of a class act, over-the-top statements like "That's not how a REAL man deals with a loss" are rather subjective. Everyone has moments of frustration. The difference with these kids on the Challenges is, they have a large audience viewing it, and said audience simply loves passing judgment on character weaknesses of these people. I won't say the way Kenny reacted is appropriate, but I will also take into account that if I were told that I would be on a team with someone I hated, while he talked a big game the entire challenge whilst referring to me as the weak link the entire challenge, only to have him completely and utterly gas out when it counts the most, I'd have a few choice words for that arrogant son of a *****. The race between Laurel/Cara Maria and Evelyn/Paula was probably the most entertaining part for me, because they were close throughout up until the GPS's at the top of the mountain. And the way Laurel handled coming in second was very classy. While she still has a way to go when it comes to handling heated conflicts, the kid has really grown up this Challenge. Felt bad for Mike and Leroy, but for a first final, they had to go through a trial by fire. They're good guys. The puking stuff was a bit unnecessary. I live in a college town with bars across the street from most of our campus buildings, so I'm not a stranger to folk spewing their guts out. I'd just rather not watch on TV as a form of entertainment. Jenn and Mandi... Dunno what to say. Not because I am shocked. I simply don't have much thoughts on them. I don't see why Jenn is considered a great competitor. She has won very few Challenges, and has rarely gotten tested in elimination rounds. She can't really hang when it comes to finals. I don't get it. She seems to have a lot of social proof with this crowd, so I guess that goes a long way. Mandi took it well, and unlike Kenny, decided not to kill her teammates pride. After this, I've gotta say the best individual performer when it comes to a distance and endurance final like this has got to be Kenny. The guy just doesn't get gassed out, and in these finals when outlasting your opponents is more important than being faster than them, he can both outlast and outrun most of the other competitors. Except for maybe Landon, I think Kenny would be the most reliable teammate to have running a final with you.

Ok I think every single rivals team is cool with each other now, even Wes/Kenny. Some one asked Kenny on twitter if he hates him more now because they lost and he said no and that things are good between them. EDIT: wait nvm, Nehemiah and Evan are not, besides for them everyone else is ok with one another.

He had a ****** partner?? Wow...what final were you watching? Wes completely wussed out! This now makes twice he lost by giving up. Where's the heart? The guy has absolutely no stamina. Last time I'm rooting for him...and I hated Kenny going into this season, but gained respect for him in this final and lost respect for Wes, who I was rooting for from the beginning. The girls hang better than he does in the finals...pitiful performance.
You're right, they're the same size. lol
I meant Body mass wise. Athletic body types are not the same as a marathon body type. That's the reason why nfl players can't just one day decide to run in a marathon. This article explains it Bigger Is Better, Except When It’s Not - New York Times "Distance running is different. Tall people naturally have longer strides, but stride length, it turns out, does not determine speed. Running requires that you lift your body off the ground with each step, propelling yourself forward. The more you weigh, the harder you have to work to lift your body and the slower you will be. The best runners are small and light, with slim legs. “If you have large legs, you have to move a big load,” Dr. Secher said. “The smaller you are, the better you are.” Kenny's body is leaner and better suited for this challenge than wes's.

Cause I don't. I think what you're doing is discrediting Wes' losses like you discredit CT's abilities. It's obvious who you like and it is what it is. I think Kenny proved to be the better partner as far as the final goes.

I was a big fan of Wes, but the dude just can't hang in the finals. Kenny sure made up for his unimpressive season, but could only carry Wes so far....no pun intended. ;)

I didn't discredit ct's abilities, everyone who saw that jungle picked him to win. I'M not going to talk about that since you can get ban for a day by debating with someone. You're missing the point that even with his body breaking down wes still never gave up, while his partner was only looking out for himself..
You're missing the point that even with his body breaking down wes still never gave up, while his partner was only looking out for himself..
Okay, sure, as far as graciousness goes, you're right. I'll admit that Kenny wasn't exactly the epitome of gracious or kind during his insulting of Wes but I thought we were talking about performance. It is very obvious that during this final mission, Wes blew and Kenny pulled more than his own weight. You made up excuses about Wes' body being wrong for this kind of athletic event. Wes has been to 2 finals before and has done 4 challenges before Rivals. He knows what it takes to succeed in this game. He knows how his body should be. After he sucked in FM2, which his body gave out on him then too, he should have done a different workout regiment to get in shape for this challenge. If it really is cause he has the wrong build to do a long distance challenge, he should have exercised that and if he knew it was wrong but didn't fix it then I will have to question his intelligence as well. His losing his is fault. His dehydration and body cramps is a result from steroid use. When Johnny lost to CT on Cutthroat, he said he didn't have a slice of humble pie, he had the whole pie, it at least made me respect Johnny for not coming up with excuses. I hope that Wes can admit his fault and be humbled when the reunion airs.

"His dehydration and body cramps is a result from steroid use" i clearly don't have to post anything else since you're a MD. The cause for dehydration and body cramps is steroids.
Has it actually been confirmed that Wes uses steroids? Not trying to start a debate but have you heard someone close to him say he uses them? I've wondered if he uses them but dont know for sure, even on Austin he was sort of buff, so did he use before just for fun? He could be cramping because of dehydration but I dont know, steroids usually increase stamina because they raise your RBC count. I've even tried to see if he has pimples on his back which is apparently a side effect. I've always questioned if CT used them in the past because he used to be really big and very aggressive.
I haven't watched it yet due to a stupid fight with my ex (how dare he during this hour!) but I thought it was very smart of them to feed them an over sized big meal because they can make it more grueling since being hungry can make peoples bodies give up easier than a full stomach. Anyone agree or disagree? I thought it was interesting.

It's funny how no one said anything when abe was puking his guts out and had to be carted of, but the moment someone plays threw it he gets rip to shreds.
Thank you. If he was on roids this wouldn't have happened.
Well I dont know for sure, I know a bit about anatomy and drugs/biochemistry but I'm no doctor. But I was wondering if anyone knew for sure, like if CT or Wes admitted it or someone close to them said they use them. Another thing why was they're no preview for the reunion?
I don't feel sorry one bit for Wes during the final. He built himself as this great Greek God and absolutely **** the bed. While Kenny could have chosen better words, he was right that Wes sucked. When push came to shove, Wes didn't carry his weight in the final. Sorta deja vu all over again from FM2 And lol why is it that every time the subject of steroids pops up CT gets his name throw around? CT didn't just get "big" and strong overnight, he's always been a big dude and a physical specimen. As for his aggressive tendencies, i would credit that to his confrontational personality - roid rage is a complete myth. Or rather, the lurking variable accounting for roid rage is perhaps due to the shift in personality that is credited by the massive gain in weight, in example a small guy suddenly becoming big feels like he can do anything However, Wes seems like a classic case of a steroid user since he at least exhibits the expected symptoms. Excessive acne on the back(look for back pictures of duel 1), massive weight gain in short time periods(look how skinny he was on real world austin and then all of a sudden he put on like 20 pounds in less than a year). Nevertheless, its impossible to definitely say that's he on roids but he sure looks like it
Nehemiaha who is good friends with Wes has said that Wes doesn't use roids. He said Wes was an amateur body builder before he came on Real World and he knows how to put on muscle and shape his body. Wes has always been built but I don't think he got big until the Ruins. He came on there after like a 2 year lay off from challenges so it isn't out of the ordinary for someone to go through that kind of change in 16-24 months.

He's buddies with Wes so I wouldn't expect him to go out and be like "yeah, Wes sauces on the weekends. But that shouldn't take anything away from him as a competitor"

And they do make you aggressive, you're injecting testosterone, it's like going through puberty. On Austin Wes wasnt as buff as he is now but he wasn't that skinny either. Even on the duel I didnt think he was that big but since the ruins he has gotten really buff, but he doesnt seem moody though, so I dont know.
