I usually agree with you, but this time I don't.
What Wes, Paula, Jenn, CT, and Tyler have done to Cara Maria is in no way acceptable. They were personally attacking her, Jenn tried to slap her, Tyler slapped off her hat, and Wes poured soda on her head, and she's been screamed at non-stop. I'm sorry but unless you watch it, you have not seen the pain and suffering she was going through and all she could say to Wes was "I hate you" as she started to cry. THAT is emotional abuse, THAT is bullying the innocent, and I haven't seen anyone on the Challenges go that far in a long time, it was even worse than The Island IMO.
Did Laurel get too personal? Yes she did. But maybe Paula should think about that before she blindly joins in a bullying frenzy if she is so emotionally fragile. I do not feel sorry for Paula.
That being said, I like everyone on the show, mistakes and all, except for maybe Wes just because he's so flawed yet so condescending. And I like the competitive aspects of the Challenges more-so than this drama. It's not the editor's fault if the people are bullying and acting crazy, they just use what will bring ratings.
Not once in her post did molds13 say that what happened to Cara Maria was acceptable. Her criticism was levied towards anyone who thought that such ugly behavior was acceptable or justifiable. That's what it looked like from where I was reading, at least.
My problem with Laurel is that she has darkness to her soul that seem to think it's OK to hit below the belt. She's a lioness, alright...
Ok, fabulous788, my bad...thanks for the correction
Tyler, quit being such a drama queen. It's definitely not Mike and Leroy's fault that you're in the jungle. And don't sit here and argue with this stupid sense of veteran entitlement. I love that Leroy's a rookie that's not just going to sit there and roll over for everyone. Finally...a rookie that thinks for himself instead of just blindly following the mob.
Leroy has won me over. He doesn't seem to hesitate to speak his mind if he feels he's in the right and is not intimidated by the veterans. He's proven his merit as a competitor, also. He's shown himself to be a true friend to Mike and will let him know that he brought some of the ribbing he was getting from the guys on himself by letting it get out of hand and not saying something before things went too far( of course, I don't know if it would have done any good when alcohol is involved). We should all be so lucky to have such a positive influence in our life...I hope their friendship endures.
after watching a video online I have to say I can see much more acting on this when I watch. I do want old school people to come back though because I think they need to **** up Johnny, and Kenny, and Wes and all the newer ones a little
I thought that was a fantastic epiosde. Leroy scaling that rope like spider-man and winning it made me so happy. I have been wanting the mob to get screwed for ages. I wished so badly that Brandon could have beat Wes in that one elimination. The mob acts so tough, so untouchable but as soon as they knew one of them had to go in, the fear was palpable!
The look on Johnny and Tyler's faces... it was great TV. They are running so scared, I couldn't help but laugh my butt off at their scrambling.
Leroy: "CT, Please fly down here in your ******** cape! Cuz every body praises him like he's a ******** God!"
I busted up. Not only because the line was golden but also becasue they look on Tyler's face right after and then the instant commercial break. His eyes were so big, the truth in Leroy's words were like a mack truck and Tyler was right in the path. Great editing.
Then the very end when the mob tried to screw over their "friend" Adam and resort to cowardly tactics of trying to tear his confidence apart.... CT saw that crap as clear as day. The way these guys treat Adam really bothers me. They act like he's just some nobody who is lucky to be associated with them. That's garbage.
It will be terrible next week if Adam and CT get sent home somehow and Kenny/Wes or Johnny/Tyler wind up winning.

Did you read the entirety of my post past the first sentence? The actions taken by these people in their mid to late 20s and even 30s is disgusting, immature and pathetic. The fact that some people find their actions to be warranted and hilarious is just as bad. The insecurities are blaringly obvious from all parties.

Mind Riot read it correctly. From what I have read, I do not agree with any person's actions.
Pouring a two liter of soda on someone and saying "everyone hates you"? Not ok. Not funny. Not necessary.
Laughing at someone getting soda thrown on them instead of minding your own business? A bit less harmless, but still not ok. Not necessary. Something that should have been done privately, if at all.
Screaming at someone for laughing at someone getting soda thrown on them, calling them worthless and anorexic? Nice that you're standing up for your partner I guess, but still definitely not ok. Not necessary. And certainly not funny.
Making unwanted physical advances toward someone? Absolutely not ok and if Cara Maria had pushed the issue with production, may have been able to send Jenn home.
I don't need to watch this episode to see how much emotional distress Cara Maria is going through. I watched the last episode. That was enough for me.
If I do not like someone, I do not pour a two liter of soda on their head. I do not take their weaknesses and scream at them until they are on the verge of tears. I do not get physically aggressive with them. I avoid them. I do not engage with them at all. It's as simple as that.
I love how Paula and Laurel's thread were prophylactically locked. I tried to check them out as soon as I read this on because I knew a ****storm would have struck.
In regards to the episode...I almost don't know what to say. I sympathize more with Laurel than Paula, just because when someone attacks my friends I get really mad, but there was just badness all around. Maybe I'm holding her to standards that are too high, but I'm a little surprised that after all the bullying Evelyn went through on the Island, she didn't stand up for Cara Maria. I guess she learned to just stay out of stuff to keep the heat off her.

I doubt Laurel went off on Paula just because she laughed. Apparently this teasing has been going on for a while and everyone has their limits. This episode was crazy but im glad all that drama was in the beginning.
And you sound like you're shocked that all of this is being shown on an MTV reality show lol. It's nothing new imo, especially after watching The Island and The Ruins, this is the same group of people so it's to be expected at this point.
Saying "no one likes you" is the most light insult I have seen on this show. Damn, I don't understand the big deal with that. So CM is liked everywhere she goes now?
FM2 was determined the moment Kenny got Laurel and Wes got Mandi. If Mandi was on Kenny's team, he would have gone home the first night.
You are so far up Wes' *** that it's laughable.
Buuuuuut we all have our opinions so whatever. :party2:
You know what is a little weird, at the beginning of the episode they wore the same clothes as they wore to the club. I guess they went to the club at the beginning of the episode then they edited it to make it look like it was after the challenge, but then I dont get why they all started yelling at CT/Adam in the club? It gets confusing when they dont play things as they happen.

Most of the time I agree with your outlook on issues and appreciate all the updates you bring to this site. Your interpretation of what happened on this episode is "SPOT ON" even though you haven't watched it. Bullying, in any instance, is not acceptable and anyone that endorses it has a lot of growing up to do. It seems with things that have been in the news recently that adults would know better.
@ Townie, Rob and Big is a good comparison. I think they appreciate each other for who they are.:good:

I have enjoyed CT's return to the Challenge. He has been versatile at times (but with his personality and under the circumstances that they are put in now...close quarters, too much alcohol available, etc) this is a much tamer CT. It seems like he is back to the old CT before he had so much anger or unfortunate events happen in his life. He seems to truly regret many of the things he has done to others in his past. All you can do is apologize and try to show you are a changed person and it is up to the other person to either accept or not. I hope he can get forgiveness from the ones that he has harmed...
Leroy is the MAN!!! He :torch:ed them on that challenge!
I loveed CT's comment "now the mob has to vote for each other, this is going to be good" and also like how when TJ told them they had to choose then Cara Maria was like "Shocker"
Will back up Laurel 100%. Throwing all this PC crap out the door, Laurel backed up her friend who was getting belittled by the mob in the house.
PC crap? Do you think before posting? The impression you are leaving me with is that Bacchus, Molds13, Insider and I are being politically correct rather than firmly in control of our own opinions based upon education and experience.
I applaud Laurel for standing up for Cara Maria; however, her response was excessive because she intentionally harmed another person through the nature of her response. It's not the end of the world. It would be unfortunate if Laurel didn't realize that there might be a better way to respond. Paula was wrong, too. In other circumstances, both might have found more adult ways to express themselves. Those other circumstances would not involve TV cameras.
I'm confused, is next weeks episode the final episode? or they going to have spread the final over 2 weeks?
If it is the final episode then thats only going to give them a week and a half to edit the reunion or the **** they should have shown episode.
I loveed CT's comment "now the mob has to vote for each other, this is going to be good" and also like how when TJ told them they had to choose then Cara Maria was like "Shocker"
I liked that twist! They weren't prepared for that and the expression on all of the others faces was "Priceless". Loyalties were tested and fell short in some cases.
I liked Tyler a lot until this episode, not even counting his little freakout. I'm a little annoyed that he called foul on Kenny not standing up for Paula. I've been rooting for him and Johnny (mainly because I can't bring myself to root for Wes) but I feel like he only gets involved in confrontations that either a) involve women or b) affect him directly. Later, in the scene at the bar where CT gets in Johnny's face Tyler was standing RIGHT THERE and made no move to help his partner and "brother" (as he's called him a number of times). I think it's a little cowardly to only get into altercations where you feel like you're going to win because the person is either weaker than you or less intelligent. Same thing with Mike and Leroy. Tyler went at Mike cause he's the quiet nerdy kid that everyone picked on, and then Leroy because he thinks he's smarter than him (had he not thrown in the "yo yo yo Leroy" thing, I wouldn't have said that that was the reason).
I've read pretty much every post in every non-spoiler forum (I have no life to speak of) but unless I missed it from sheer eye strain, I haven't seen this question asked so here goes. I know there's a possibility (hopefully a remote one) that the challenges won't be renewed and that BMP didn't give us dailies this time for financial reasons. So if they're in money-saving mode, why film Rivals in two countries when it's never been done before (or is THAT the reason)? I can't even imagine the expenses involved in putting on a challenge since they have to fly the cast, TJ and the crew to wherever, rent/lease houses for the cast/crew and TJ and construct the daily missions and jungles. So why, with only a few days left in this challenge, would they move 14 cast members, TJ and all the crew 3,000 miles away and have to rent/lease two more houses? Is there something unique to Argentina that they wanted to use for the final? If so, why not just film the entire challenge there? Have any of the mods gotten word as to why production did this, especially since it probably cost more money than they needed to spend? Thanks for anyone who might have an answer to this question.
The convoluted idea of "deserving" something amazes me.
There was a clear inequity of response. Paula was talking s***, Laurel was knee capping.
There is a difference.
While I agree that Laurel went way beyond talking ****, Paula puts herself in a position where she can't cry for sympathy. Remember how mean she was to Evelyn on the island? While she might not have attacked a disease, I think its pretty much the same. Evelyn seems to have suffered a lot of her life being an outcast, and Paula held nothing back when constantly bullying her. Taste of her own medicine perhaps? She thinks she can say whatever she wants when she thinks someone has her back. (Johnny on the Island, Wes, etc). She is extremely troubled and pathetic and should probably stop putting herself on TV considering she cries and breaks down almost every single aftershow/reunion.
My issue with Paula is this. Yes, Laurel said some very hurtful things, and pulled cards that she shouldn't have. However, Paula joined right in with Wes when making fun of Cara Maria. Do not dish insults if you can't take them, sorry Paula. If you are willing to make fun of, and take part in hurting someone else, you must also be willing to take that same kind of insults and hurt back. Laurel, however did take it to a level that wasn't needed. I do completely appreciate how much she stuck up for Cara.
My question is why everyone hates cara? It seems to me that besides the whole calling Jenn out for sleeping with Adam, she really doesn't do that much to stir up trouble.
I also loved Laurel ripping Wes a new one and calling him a firecrotch.

Just confirmed that there will be 2 more episodes. Don't know how it will work because if the final challenge starts on the next episode then that means that the final episode is just going to be an hour of a final challenge, sounds a bit boring.
