That's true. I was watching it again and the part that I found the hardest to watch is Laurel saying "YOU'RE WORTHLESS" with so much venom. She's got a DARK side to her for sure that comes out when she's angry.
It's tough to argue who was more wrong and what is crossing the line and what should be off limits. I just leave it, all three of them (meaning Wes, Laurel and Paula) were wrong and need to learn bullying people is not the way to go just because you know their weak spots and you're upset with them.
You're absolutely right.
Funny.. this show is called Rivals. Remember when Laurel was picking on Cara Maria? Hmm...
Also, I never said Paula was right. In fact, I said she was wrong. I'm not arguing with that. I am arguing that it is absolutely disgusting to use the words Laurel used. If you cant find a better way to help a "friend" (I use that term loosely).. then you have serious problems.
So what did you want her to do. "hey guys I think your being very mean and I think you should stop" yea thats something this group responds to well. The only way to shut these people up is by saying something mean and hurtful..cause they dont stop, EVER. Mike was picked on for weeks he finally got fed up and flipped his lid and they laughed at him, no "hey sorry we didnt know we were bugging you" when they saw CM crying for days straight no one came to her and said "oh hey were only kidding, sorry to see you cry" they beat down and beat down until someone else has to do the same for your benefit.

**** they should've shown?

Two wrongs don't make a right. Someone who has already been in hot water, (and cried for forgiveness) should know better. You can't find peace through hatred. Not only is it completely impossible.. but it makes no sense to a logical mind.
Mistakes are made.. but Laurel's "Don't mess with a lioness if you don't want to get bitten" or whatever she said, only accentuated the point I'm making. Everyone gets angry and does things they shouldn't... but how can you watch yourself spew those hateful words with such dark passion and think it's ok? It worries me.

Sadly, there are individuals in that age-range acting much worse in real life at the moment (London & UK riots). At least the TV show can blame alcohol and editing. :nasty:

Oh, yes...the...alcohol.
I seriously think Cara Maria needs to control her emotions, like come on he poured coke on you, not the end of the world, like Sarah got **** water. I was expecting him to cuss her out to get a reaction like that, just throw coke back at him or just go take a shower and forget about it, he said no one likes you, its not like he called her a dumb ***** and besides who cares what he thinks. Worse things have happened, she wouldnt have survived the bullying Ev got on the Island. He shouldn't have done it because she cries easily but he seems to really not like her idk if it's only cause of the whole turning on the alliance stuff and I think Laurel went a little too far, but Paula wasnt innocent, Paula's actually the biggest instigator ever and throws a water bottle at her, Laurel should have just thrown it back at her, no need for the anorexic stuff, and Laurel went off on her and all she does to Wes is chase him around the house with a 2L of coke while he laughs at her, these people are all nuts and blow everything out of proportion. And Tyler did you really think Evelyn would pick you and JOHNNY over Wes? He's on crack and is scared ****less.

It was actually Johnny who threw the bottle of water.
Ya Blue agree on the CM stuff. It looked like she had a toga on not like a prom dress that can't be stained. They were all wrestling and making a mess everywhere and notice Mike/Leroy/CT were not even in that scene at all. So i hardly think that was some big bullying that she made it seem on the show hysterically crying and the online exclusive acting like it was more bullying. Last episode was a much better example but she was crying only during a 1 on 1 argument with CT in the online exclusive. She gets emotional very easily in a house full of crazies is basically my point and that is not good.
Paula and her friends tend to gang up on people and act tough in numbers, and they go to far quite a bit just like Johnny and Kenny have been known to do on occasion. Laurel's intent was to look out for Cara which was nice of her, but she took it too far as well. So good intention by Laurel, but wrong way to go about it. Tyler just kind of instigates and is like the guy behind two bullies adding fuel but not taking any fall for it.
Overall the mob vs Laurel/CM name calling was bad but the rest of the episode was good and the previews look intense. CT is in elimination mode and we know how he changes gear into even more intense(if possible) for that, see Duel 1 for example. He crushes one person on the preview, not sure the goal of it though in some plus sign type jungle with balls. Also if Tyler is hurt, not sure how that all work but i guess on Wednesday we will see.

Leroy was shown comforting her or something while she was crying. As for the soda thing, I think the whole thing was the fact that it was white or something. Whether that had to do with stains or see-through or whatever, I don't know, but we have to remember this wasn't the first time he was a **** to her too.
But again, no one in this whole thing was in the right. But props to Leroy for stealing the show with the win and being practically the only voice of reason there.
Not only does it stick with you forever kids commit suicide over it all the time.
Its ridiculous to insinuate that Paula was hurting more than Cara
I think in CM and Mike's situations, it is a buildup of constantly enduring these people treat them rudely and like laughingstocks that makes them have those reactions. I don't blame them at all.
I can actually see how some of them might not like CM - there is just some kind of vibe I sense about her that makes me not as fond of her as some viewers seem to be. I still don't think she is one for challenges or that she understands them in a way, although she doesn't seem as shocked as she did on FM2 and Cutthroat. However, last season and this one, a few people on the shows behaved so horribly towards her that I felt sorry for her in those situations. I don't think being a bit annoyed by someone or just not liking their personality much equates to doing to CM what these people have done. She seems to be OK in terms of how she acts in general on the shows, so I don't know what exactly makes people like Wes and Jenn and Paula think they are justified in treating her that way. Especially considering their pasts.
Wes and Tyler have been two of my least favorite RWers ever. They've shown decent moments here and there, but overall just pretty obnoxious. I don't know what happened on Cutthroat for Tyler to appear differently - there were a couple of moments I looked askance at him, but he seemed rather decent overall. I think other people's behavior just overshadowed him. That, and he was linked to the popular crowd on that one. Perhaps he felt security.

It's not as if Tyler didn't have somewhat of an ego when Cutthroat began. If you remember on the 2nd episode, he said that they sat Camila and Mandi because that specific challenge was designed for veterans, when it was the fact that they're both really short. Not to mention that Chet had only done 2 missions prior to that one and Tyler had only done 7, while Mandi had done 8. There was also the 5th mission where he and Brad were the last pair to go in the one with the surfing board and he equated that he and Brad were the leaders of the team, despite how Tyler hadn't shown anything at that point to earn a leadership spot. If it was Dunbar in Tyler's place there, it MAY have made sense, but Tyler didn't have anything at that point.
Wow! Respect to Laurel, I love that she is sticking up for Cara Maria after Wes poured stuff all over her for no reason!! That's right I am an Amazon beast get the **** out! hahaha....And I'm disappointed in Paula for having 'loyalty' to Wes and going after CM, how could she think that is right in any way? Their reasoning sucks, and CM is probably the nicest person on this Challenge. (opinion from watching the show of course).
And aww...poor Mike finally cracking after all the jokes and pranks.
I loved Kenny this episode, he points out Johnny is a ****** once again. Neutral about Laurel, I still like Evelyn, Wes can burn in hell, Tyler is always a diva, glad Leroy has the nuts to tell everyone how it is, and thankfully I didn't see Jenn much in this episode.

Yeah, like I said, there were a couple of side eye moments for comments he made and such, but that was the best behaved I'd ever seen him. It really makes you wonder just how much bad or good behavior they decide to edit out of each show for each person. I just think there were "worse" people to focus on at the moment on Cutthroat. That, and Tyler won on Cutthroat, so he came into Rivals as someone who won a challenge before, so I think he might be more obnoxious about that. And I also notice he seems to walk around in his underwear a lot now that he is a personal trainer. I think he has a major ego.
I'd just like to point out that Paula immediately apologized to Cara Maria on the after show for those of you who didn't watch. So you don't need to be on the "Paula's a *insert expletive here*" at this point.
It was actually Johnny who threw the bottle of water.
Was it? I wasnt paying attention, wtf does he need to get invloved anyways, I thought that was why she yelled at her, if it was him then Laurel freaked out even more than before, why not yell at Johnny then? And I just saw the online exclusive clip and apparently CM was trying to rip Wes' stuff then he said the no body likes you ****, seriously that's just ridiculous, even Mike had it worse.

Its not the same situation like it was with Eric, Im sorry it just isnt. Eric didnt deserve what was coming his way, she was being a bully, I honestly think she saw it and was upset by it.
But Paula , Paula thinks shes in the in crowd and so she can beat down on people more insecure than her, people who are already hurting. she saw this as her chance to beat down a competitor and keep them down so that she can finally win a challenge.

Thats great so months after she beats down her opponent day after day after day, she comes on the aftershow and says ,"im sorry, but really im the victim here"
puleeze
I sympathize with anyone who has struggled with an eating disorder and there really isn't any reason to put someone down for it... that being said, I also feel like if you can't stand the heat, stay outta the kitchen. Paula needs to understand that she can't dish and dish and not expect anything back. Laurel, sadly, goes way below the belt. We all know this as does Paula. Sure, she probably wasn't expecting it, but I didn't really feel sorry for her at all. I felt sorry for her in Key West but that was 6 years ago and Paula seems to really gotten herself together physically. I'm sure she has a lot of mental issues pent up inside, but so does everyone. You can't let someone get to you like that when you just went off on their friend. If I was bullying someone's friend and they attacked me, I would make sure that whatever they said didn't affect me. I'm just maintain that it hit Paula harder because she was drunk. If she was sober, I think she have just brushed it off.
The scene with Mike having cookies thrown at him reminds me of the powdering of Tonya on The Ruins. I rewatched a clip of that for some reason not too long ago, and it was so disgusting. I just can't take watching much stuff like that. I don't feel like I missed much by skipping the majority of this season. Some years back it would have been unfathomable to me to miss challenge episodes. I keep hearing about how great Leroy is, and he does seem cool, so someone like that will make people want to watch. But they cast too many people whose behavior I generally find distasteful these days - guess it makes sense with a format like Rivals. If there is ever another challenge, I hope they mix up the cast more in terms of personalities and cliques.
Some of these people need to stop drinking while on TV (or if they have a problem, get help to stop completely). How many times do you have to look bad to get it? I don't have as much of an issue with Paula in general like a lot of fans do, but being that she had so many problems from the first appearance on RW, I think the challenge environment is not the healthiest place for her to be at sometimes. I do believe she's improved a great deal and seems to be able to manage her issues most of the time, but I think doing so many of these shows in a row can do a number on her.
On another note, I think Adam just wants to be cool and with the end crowd so badly. He seems desperate to fit in. With Ace, on BOTS2, trying to start a physical fight with CT on Duel 2, with the guys on this challenge and with Jenn.
I hope John was billed for breaking the bunk bed. And I wish Mike would have told him to get up so that he could sleep in his bed. But it was probably for the best that he left the room.
Just a few of my thoughts...When I saw Wes and Paula start to go after Cara Maria, it reminded me of The Island, watching Evelyn being treated so bad. That is when I stopped liking Paula, so I did not have too much sympathy to Paula(however evil that may make me seem), and I don't care for Laurel much either. But- Hey, wasn't it Cara Maria that made those cutter insults to Aiiiya? Yea, so when I am watching this and feeling sorry for her atm, can't help but feel guilty for that knowing what kind of things she is capable of too. Funny how the story telling in an episode can make your opinions on a cast member change so drastically depending on the season. Sometimes I agree with these people, somtimes I root for them, sometimes I love the drama they bring, and other times I have to ask myself WTF am I doing watching this ****. Well, Go Rookies?!?! <3 Leroy

Did she make cutter remarks towards Aiiiya? That's not cool. I forgot - the way CM constantly went on and on with a "Twitter war" with Aiiiya was part of her obnoxiousness to me. I thought Aiiiya wasn't right about how she called CM out on Cutthroat, but I can sort of understand her thought process about how CM's hookup with Abram worked in her favor. Just didn't necessarily think she hooked up with him to make it far, since they didn't know what the teams were going to be. I would not be surprised if she did know who Abram was from watching the shows and decided it might be worth it to have a "big relationship" with a veteran, though. Anyway, did Aiiiya apologize? I want to say she did on Twitter later on, but not sure. Still, there was something about their interaction on Twitter that made me think CM wasn't all that sweet and innocent. But I still maintain that she doesn't deserve the venom towards her that some of these people throw her way.
I think tonight was the first time in his 8 years of doing challenges that CT has DQ'ed because he wasn't physically able to do whatever they were supposed to do for the challenge... and I'm shocked because it wasn't that hard of a challenge. He's always excelled at stuff that involves climbing in the past and the other 3 guys had no problems zipping right up the rope.
I agree with the poor editing for the preview for next week...they show CT laying out Johnny and Tyler and then cut to a helmet rolling on the ground and you can clearly see Adam's name on the side of it. There was also a part in the preview where they flashed a bunch of stuff really quick, I watched it in slow-mo and there's a shot of Adam on his back with his helmet on looking like he's barely conscious or aware of what's going on around him.

I think he DQ'd on a couple of things on The Duel like the one with the bridge that everyone DQ'd on and the scuba diving one that everyone except Wes DQ'd on.
