The Real World San Diego: La Jolla - Alexandra Govere

Thanks to a tip, I have information on our Diana Ross lookalike, otherwise known as #4! Alexandra, who also goes by Alex, was born on May 12, 1990 which would make her 21 years old. She is of Zimbabwean, French, and American Indian descent, and was raised in Zimbabwe until her family moved to Fullerton, California. She completed high school at the age of 14 and attended Stanford University. However, she did not graduate, but did write a couple of articles for the Stanford Daily. As a teenager, she founded the Assisting AIDS Orphans organization, which ships items to AIDS orphans in Africa. She has been featured in Teen People and Elle Magazine. She currently lives in Los Angeles where she is pursuing a career in music. She has a boyfriend who apparently has been a frequent visitor at the house. She has done a photo shoot for NOH8, and she even has her own Wikipedia page!. From there, you can see the links to some of the other stuff she's done. Here's her Facebook page, where her last update was interesting: If you'd like to hear her sing (while her boyfriend plays the guitar), check out this video. I'm kind of getting more of a Rosario Dawson look a like instead of Aretha Franklin :D Great snag molds!
I'm kind of getting more of a Rosario Dawson look a like instead of Aretha Franklin :D Great snag molds!
I only said Diana Ross because a member said that with she looked like her in one of the pictures :)
I only said Diana Ross because a member said that with she looked like her in one of the pictures :)
Then where did I get Aretha Franklin (because she obviously doesn't look like her)? I guess I got mixed up in my own mind. I like her voice. It's quite good.
she is gorgeous :O !!!! BEST looking cast since Cancun She graduated at 14?!?! wow
She's very cute. It seems like they cast a bunch of geniuses this season haha. Graduating at 14 is impressive. Reminds me of the show "Smart Guy" haha. She has an interesting voice. I find her singing to be much more enjoyable than the other recent aspiring singers (Sahar, and especially the two DC "singers")
I agree with mph, it does seem like a lot of smart people are on this season...too bad she didnt graduate from Stanford though. She would've been the third Stanford grad to be on the Real World (Adam K., Kammelah).
Whats the usual age of graduation? She seems like a nice girl, obviously from a rich family, hopefully not too bratty.
Here's one more: Alex's NOH8 picture.
I dont want to say "celebrity", but It seems like she is really popular with 34,000+ likes on her Facebook. So along with her, Zach (from how he got so heated when defending Frank) and obviously Frank & Sam support gays.. I really hope someone on this season is homophobic. From the bios, it seems like a "D.C." type season :(
Definitely a breathe of fresh air to see someone who has done so much at such a young age. This is also the FIRST real worlder to be born in the 90's! Talk about a whole new generation for the show.

But it blows my mind just thinking about that. Sam could also be a 90's baby depending on her birthday.

She seems to have it going on but I really hate those NOH8 pictures. They seem too S&M'ish for me. Not surprised she didn't graduate college if she graduated high school so young--college is probably boring for her. I've heard that really smart people sometimes do not do well at all in college (not to say that she left because she didn't have good grades).
hmm MM Agency said that production was looking for people who were "Products of home or alternative schooling" and "Want to bring spotlight to a cause, condition, or social issue they care deeply about or are personally affected by". So, I'm guessing the AIDS organization and her graduating so early are why she got cast since she fits the bill on both qualities

Bacchus knows the guy who runs that site, and well, he pretty much gets his info from us. He doesn't know anyone on the "inside" as he may sometimes claim.

I always thought MM Agency was the premiere booking agency for BMP alumni--they make it seem that way by basically saying they represent all of them. I just assumed the casts had to book with them as part of their contract.

No. A few years ago the MM Agency listed several people on its site but had no representation agreement with them at all. Finally the potential of legal action was seriously mentioned and the web site's content changed. Contract requirement? No. The cast members are free agents. Some of them have found their way to me over the years. Very, very few reality "stars" have real agents or managers. When asked, I generally recommend Rachel Coolbroth for bookings (CelebAgent LLC). She can be found on facebook. I recommend her because of her integrity. There is not much of that (integrity) out there in the booking business. Cast members have been ripped off for years.
She did a song with Lupe Fiasco :O it's really, really good. lol the lyrics are pretty interesting. She has also done a song with Drake called "Obsessed" ‪Andra ft. Lupe Fiasco - White Swans‬‏ - YouTube hobnobbing with celebrities , 37,000 fans... idk, she seems a little too "established" and "high profile" for the real world. just my opinion..
It'd be great if TRW rockets her up the charts, she has all the material, she just needs to get her name out. ‪16 - Andra - Friday Night Break Up‬‏ - YouTube
I only said Diana Ross because a member said that with she looked like her in one of the pictures :)
For what its worth I agree with both of you guys. She looks like both Rosario Dawson and a little spice of Diana Ross. I just wish they cast people of darker complexion for once like Heather and Sharon but its cool though. As for V1, Why haven't the cast members ripped off not taken steps towards legal action if that is going on? Or can you not say? This is awesome that she is pursuing a musical career. And based on what people have posted and the song with Lupe, she sounds like she'll really make it in the industry.
Her voice is pretty cool, kinda refreshing actually. And that's def a recycled Lupe verse, I'm guessing she sampled it for her mixtape? Same thing with the Drake rap. She doesn't seem "established" to me...37,000 fans is cool, but def doesn't make someone "high profile" imo. My only concern with her is the fact that people don't usually make it after appearing on TRW. Remember Sahar from New Orleans and that other girl in Hollywood -- Brianna was her name, I think? They also tried, but I've yet to hear anything from them. Hopefully she will be the anomaly! I really like her voice and style. I'm interested to see what her personality is like, though she seems like a nice girl.

Or can you not say?
It seems to me like they sometimes do cast people of darker complexion but the females end up being lighter on screen. Not sure if that is an editing thing they do, or the girls wear make-up, or a lighting issue in the house since they seem to flood those sets with lights. While you didn't direct it at me, I am guessing because 1: They are suckers out for the quick buck while they can get it and 2: Most book out of state and the expense of a long-distance lawsuit would probably not make it worth it. I don't know if it was true or not, but I saw on twitter where someone posted that Heather was only getting $1,000.00/appeareance and Adam Royer $900.00 when the show was nearing its end and they were in prime booking season. At that rate, your airline and hotel to show up for trial wouldn't make it worth it and then add in lawyers and court costs, and you'd be in the hole.
Wow, Fish Hooks. That put that into perspective. And even for Adam the pay seems totally ridiculous. I'm still hoping I am wrong and that there is more to it than what we're guessing. As for the darker complexion cast members I forgot all about Jasmine (love you girl).

After that I remember hearing something about her going to jail for something stupid. I used to work at Six Flags Over Texas and for a while and we played one of her songs(the one she sung on the show actually) throughout the park for about a year and I started going crazy once I heard it for the first time. Sahar couldn't sing imo, Neither could Erica. I also remember Parrisa never came out with anything other than a couple songs on myspace. But yeah I see what you're saying. The first female who comes to mind as successful is Diem. lol I actually think this chick has "swag" enough to make it somewhere and I'm really interested in knowing why she left school.

If you're talking entertainment-wise, you've got Kit Hoover who's a co-host on Access Hollywood, Rachel Campos-Duffy was in the running to be a host on The View, Jacinda was a supermodel, Trishelle's had successful stints playing professional poker, Jamie Chung was most recently in The Hangover 2, Colie's done several interviews for her company on national television... However, I'm sure there are some castmembers who would define their lives and/or occupations as "successful" without ever being seen on television again.

Well that's all I could think of of the top of my head. Kit Hoover host Six Flags TV, her face is everywhere
Brianna from Hollywood and Parisa both came out with an album, neither of which did well, I think. She seems like a really interesting character! I haven't listened to any of her songs yet, but she seems very dynamic and I'm looking forward to seeing her!
Really lover her music. I would really like to see her perform "Friday Night Break Up" towards the end of the season, with the rest of the cast dancing to it. Would be awesome :)
Whats the usual age of graduation? She seems like a nice girl, obviously from a rich family, hopefully not too bratty.
Rich? Her dad comes from a village in Zimbabwe with no running water or electricity and her mom’s family came from a tiny fishing community on some small island in Canada. She has an interesting genealogy though, she is Shona, Acadian, and Amerindian. Andra is related to Celine Dion, Madonna, Angelina Jolie, Hillary Clinton, Matt LeBlanc, Ali Landry, etc, and she is descended from Mayflower families (something like 8 Mayflower people), American Revolutionary war solders, the French nobility, and Canadian Rebellion Soldiers. I found this out because her sister's genealogy was linked from facebook. I can’t wait till she drops another mixtape or her first album. All of Zimbabwe is waiting! I have met her and she is no brat.

She was a child prodigy. She is/was a professional ballerina and a gymnast for Zimbabwe. She had a full scholarship to Stanford University. She has taken a leave of absence from Stanford to work with a Grammy winning record producer. Andra has lived in and outside of Zimbabwe over the last five or so years. Alexandra cares a lot for other people and is an internationally recognized humanitarian. The times I met her she was very nice and shy in person. Which is funny because on stage or on camera, she is not shy. Her music is played a lot in the clubs in Zimbabwe.
