Unless one is perhaps 12, I'm not sure that not knowing of the NAACP is forgivable.
Lol seriously never heard of it and didn't really think twice when it was written. And I doubt that's true, I am sure there's others that haven't heard of it either.
Lol seriously never heard of it and didn't really think twice when it was written. And I doubt that's true, I am sure there's others that haven't heard of it either.
I'd recommend you tell your most recent U.S. history or social studies teacher that he or she failed you miserably. :sadwalk: But when one doesn't look up something so simple before commenting, one does open oneself up to some likely criticism. I think most of us have learned that lesson about internet posting.

We study Caribbean and a bit of European history. With that said, I agree with the bolded statement.
I don't want to sound like a jerk, but why do you think he's the smartest person on the challenge? Because he's able to throw out a few facts relating to a subject he's clearly passionate about? Considering that it's been widely discussed that a lot of the people on these challenges do what's necessary for screen time, I doubt any of them are interested in trying to sound intelligent. That's not good entertainment. That being said, didn't Evan graduate from Cornell? I'm sure he's no slouch in the academic department. Sorry to ramble, but I watched The Real World with Mike and never understood why everyone was so adamant about his intelligence. Dorkiest person on the challenge? Absolutely. Smartest? I don't know...
I definitely agree, especially after watching The S#!t They Should Have Shown, I realized he's not as big of a smart-head they paint him out to be. He is intelligent, but really, the "difficult" words he uses are all understandable to anyone who listened in high school english class. And I have been living in an English-speaking country for less than 5 years, so unless all the RW Vegas cast dropped out of high school, none of them has an excuse for not knowing what "adjacent" and "hydrogenated" means.
Lol seriously never heard of it and didn't really think twice when it was written. And I doubt that's true, I am sure there's others that haven't heard of it either.
I had never heard of it either (looked it up when I saw the reactions) for the same reasons as Cryssy19; the history I was taught was European, Middle Eastern and Asian. We barely talked about American history. Ask me about some random battle in WWI I'll probably know it, but don't make name any American civil war generals.

And it's fine you can criticize all you want, point is the original comment that was made was odd. ^^And see judging by the posts above mine I am not the only one! And I am going to assume all of them are not 12. But I was the one who just thought it was a slang term or something and didn't pay much attention, so I don't think my teachers have failed me ****, that was a bit harsh. And you pretty much called me stupid for not knowing what it meant when I am not the only one who didn't, which is kinda rude to be honest lol. Criticize me for not looking it up but don't call me stupid because I never heard of it.
Nehemiah is part of the main alliance...
Only because he has to be, he's attached to Evan who is arguably the leader.
In this challenge Evan is not the leader of the JEK alliance because he has the weakest partner
Unless one is perhaps 12, I'm not sure that not knowing of the NAACP is forgivable.
LOL that is not fair. It's not like schools in America, let alone the rest of the world, teach their students about the NAACP once they reach 12 years of age. In general, what schools teach students about the NAACP? I was never taught about that in middle school or High School...

I guess it's a big thing in the U.S. but of course we can't just assume every one here is American. Lol I seriously was thinking I missed something by having no idea what that was..so I guess it true you can be over the age of 12 and not know what the naacp is, but to say "you're teachers have failed you" come on now, a little over board it's not like I was saying I didn't know who Hitler was.
National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Seriously is it that hard to google something that would take 2 seconds of your time.
National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.
I know that now, what I said was he can criticize me for not looking it up, but you can't call some one stupid for never hearing of it, because many others haven't.
Now do you see why I find it offensive...honestly, shocked its still on here. If someone else wrote it they would be ripped to shreds and put on vacation.
Now do you see why I find it offensive...honestly, shocked its still on here. She probably didn't realize how weird it looked when she wrote it.
Now do you see why I find it offensive...honestly, shocked its still on here. If someone else wrote it they would be ripped to shreds and put on vacation.
Lol, so true.
In which post did HE actually wrote stupid? I can't find it...just the recommendation to look up things you have never heard of and that the history teacher failed miserably - nothing to get worked up.
You don't actually have to write the word "stupid" to call someone stupid...
