should i even try if i'm not very pretty?
If this is something you want to try to do, then most definitely YES. There are lots of ways to be pretty and I bet you are prettier than you think, so GO FOR IT!!!
hi! quick question- what happens after the one on one camera interviews? if you are not asked after to send in a 5-10 tape are you out? thanks!
It's most likely you are out.
I went to the audition today. They spent the most time on me with questions as the casting director jumped from one question to another with me and just spent like a minute or 2 on everyone else. Another casting director came over to me and asked me about my answer and why I said that and explained more. I was happy with my answers except for one which is the most important I feel- "what is the most interesting thing about me." i felt almost as if my answer would have been too unbelievable so i chose to go a different route, which i regret now. anyway, they asked one guy to stay back and told the rest of us they would call. are you definitely out if they dont ask for you to stay back?
I would like to say that i got that email as well but my drive is only 45 min. why? because i did it right. Your problems are that you did not follow the directions. You are supposed to find a city that is close to you. Like i live 45 min from buffalo 30 depending on what way i go. So I of course choose the city BUFFALO. If the closest city was ALBANY witch by the way is an 8hr drive I wouldnt have chose it. If you cant find a city closer than an hr or two you are supposed to send a video. 2nd you are supposed to put in the subject the city you are closest to and can audition at so you are not having to drive 7, 10 or 15 hours to an audition because u will spend more time driving than actually at the audition. How much would that suck. Now that you have actually been chosen to audition and put on the list it might be to late to send a video. But none of us can tell you that you would have to send an email or some how get in contact with one of the people who are in charge of it.
[strike]i went to the official mtv real world casting page that told me where the auditions would be held. plus they change each year im sure. I wish i knew about it when i was still in cuse that would be awesome now im just goin to a night club in buffalo witch is super tiny and i have no idea how that will work.[/strike]

If you're referring to the couple of people who posted that they would have long drives ahead of them, it's always possible that the closest city to them already had their casting call and that this was the next closest choice. It doesn't mean that they didn't follow the directions. I also haven't seen anything that says "If you live more than two hours away from an open casting call location, you should just send in a video" on BMP's casting website.
But congrats on "doing it right".
Just out of curiosity, Dustin indicated in a radio interview that he didn't go to an audition but did it by Skype ( Link: Dustin From “Real World” In The HMP - HOT 107.9 ). How does that work? Is that something they do if you apply by sending in a video in the mail?

My guess is that Dustin sent in an email with his story, which BMP saw as way too good to pass up. Maybe he sent in his email after the casting call around him, so they made a special exception and did his via Skype.
I'm guessing it doesn't happen often.
Like most people here i also got a VIP access email sent to me on friday about attending the casting call in buffalo and i am contemplating on whether or not i should go because it would cost me roughly 200 for the whole trip, but i just had a question that if i were to to go all the way through til the end, would taping the show interfere with my school? for example would i have to take a year off of school??

Depends on when the filming of that season would be, but more than likely it wouldn't be too convenient with your school schedule (if you're in college, seperated by two semesters). A year off is probably a bit much, filming could probably fit within a semester, but like I said it all depends on when filming begins and wraps up.

The most you would take off is a semester...Usually they film for 3 months.Usually in the beginning months or later months of a year.
-______- I wanna try out for Fresh Meat 3 if there is ever one, probably get my butt handed to me. Maybe I'll see one of you guys on TV for Real World 26, good luck kiddos!
Hey anyone who can answer my problem would get a big virtual hug from me :) so i was asked to stay back after the open casting call in columbus, ohio and fill out the extended application. everyone who filled this out was to give a time that they could be called in case they were going to give them a 1 on 1 interview. When i handed in my app, i was told that they were giving me a camera interview "the next day". so i felt amazing because i had already told i made the interview tomorrow! they asked when i would be available the next day and i said all day i was free. ................. they never called. i am very confused because i was told i was going to be interviewed before i even left the place! i have read from some people that it took up to 2 weeks for a response, but i am getting very nervous just because i was told an actual day.. anyone who had a similar problem, or got an actual 1 on 1 if you could please give me some condolence would be great!!!

If they haven't called yet, then you're probably out. If you haven't heard in two weeks, then I'd say you're definitely out.
That's probably a good thing though, because I would venture a guess that your last name has Hitch in it based on your username, and you revealed that you were invited to stay back and fill out the extended application in Columbus. I doubt many people have that in common and BMP would probably see this (as they read this board) and not want you anyway because you can't follow the confidentiality rule...
actually people know me for my word "bhitch" as in *****? kay? get it? but whatever thanks for the info
Haha ok, if you say so. And you're welcome.

I guess it might be wise for people with questions or a recounting of their recent experience then to misrepresent or withhold which casting call they were at if they are to get a callback regardless of what their screenname is.
so i was looking for some information on the RW casting and i stumbled upon this site...
i recieved a phone call this week saying i made it to the semifinals of the casting process. obviously, cool ****. but, how many people make it to this stage? i thought i might be special but i have a feeling theres a ****stick load of other people. my semifinal interview is soon, they are coming "here" (they told me not to tell anyone...especially facebook...so im remaining incognito) and they asked me to also make a 5 min video of my life. can anyone give me an idea of what this semi final interview will be like?
Oh and for those of you asking about how long/when season 26 will be shooting, the casting director told me "over the summer so you wont miss any school" so i am assuming it will end sometime before august is over.
anyways, thought i wuld share. PEACE
I was told the semi-finals process begins AFTER the open casting calls end ... but I might of been misinformed
it will be my second on-camera interview, and she specifically said "semi-final"
can anyone answer my questions?

Hey love, congrats! K so I'll help you out since I've been there. Pretty much, you interview at another Hotel and they talk about the same questions you answered on your sheet, but it's a new casting director and they are expecting you to like say new stories and talk about new experiences, NOT the same stuff you already talked about. Also, this time at the end you will have to randomly talk to the camera for 2 minutes about anything you want, so don't just sit there with a blank stare. I guess you are late in the process because usually by this time you already submitted your video so they don't ask you to bring one with you. This is a really fun interview, I hope you do great!

Also having made it to semi-finals before, I know that you are in a pool of about 25 to 30 applicants. Congratulations!
